Many fighters don’t like to use it because it’s a technique that can end somebodies career with life long repercussions with out ended the fight. Most fighters won’t quit when their knees are blown out but won’t be able to walk for months after and possibly be permanently injured. Most fighters have honour and don’t want to cause permanent life long injuries for their opponents. I put “grounded” in quotations because putting a finger on the ground is considered a grounded opponent. Which I think should be changed to needing to have your ass, back, chest, shoulders or belly on the ground to be considering a grounded opponent. Being on your hands and knees should be a vulnerable position, not a safe one. I think kicks to the head of a grounded opponent is better than oblique kicks to the knee. Kicks and knees to the head of a grounded opponent will finish fights with a small chance of life king repercussions. Oblique kicks to the knee don’t finish fights and have a greater chance of life long repercussions.
