Loved the special effect! Very impressive. There is something special about a ruin, especially a castle. It's easier somehow to have an overview of how people lived and the rooms used when they aren't intact. Plus it's fun to guess what some of the installations were. Your incidental music was lovely and really captured the mood of the visit. I could picture lords and ladies moving around the castle with that playing in the background. Manky seemed pretty fascinated too! A great outing and two castles for the price of one!

I think Phil is on his way to collecting enough bricks for a chimney! I'm always amazed at the wonderful stone structures you share with us, this castle is a great one. It must have been magnificent when it was in top form. Stay well and keep having fun! I think you two would make excellent tour guides.
Not enough to build a chimney as big as the one we saw at Coity Castle, and not one that would last as long against the odds. They really knew how to build things back then! So glad you enjoyed the tour. Take care and thanks for watching 🤠😎🐼

I love the castle ruins. It has always amazed me that they were built with simple tools and lots of muscle.
Yes Joni, I doubt if the stuff we build today will be around in 800 years time, most of it doesn't last 80! Every time we visit these places we always think of the people who did the work as well as those who lived in them. Thanks for watching 🤠😎🐼

Are any of the walls in town built from the ruins?
I'm sure they will have reused the masonry to build in the town, as it was a common practice over the centuries, all across the country. Also the fact that so much of the building as been lost, yet there are not huge piles of rubble, suggests that someone carried the stones away to reuse them. Thanks for watching 🤠😎🐼
