I'm really looking forward to this Aprilia resto/project going forward. I'm also hopeful for you that the new ecu etc coming from Italy does you proud. Good luck with the welding 👍😊😊

As long as it isn't cast it should weld up just fine, secret is to have the sufaces you are welding spotlessly clean and shiny, looking forward to it.

I don't even think you need the new ecu Nat. You may find that you plug the new key and barrel into the wiring and it work on the old ecu and dash. I have a feeling it will be that.
If your lucky you will be able to sell the new ecu on.

So the lambda sensor is basically an oxygen sensor & tells the ecu to change the fuel/air flow mixture.
The sooted/carboned plugs are due to the exhaust expansion chamber having the San Andreas fault line.
Your lambda sensor would've changed the ratio of air/fuel hence black plugs.
If you can't weld it up then use a flattened bake bean can & tack weld it on.
Then tack weld the heat shields together.
    Coming along nicely.

Thanks. I am buying one of these. As bad as it looks it seems easier than working on a Volkswagon, There's another video out there dealing with exhaust "blow". Probably pull the whole damned thing then powder coat it....

Its an 02 sensor Nat the bike willbrun lean without it ,it measures exhaust gases and sends to ecu which adjusts fuel amount accordingly ,probably not the best explanation but something like that 👍

If its a real akrapovic exhaust system, you'll not be welding titanium for sure. So no point trying. Just buy a new system and be happy 😊

Am getting no crank nothing when pressing the starter button tested everything and its all fine battery, starter motor, solenoid but no 12 volts at starter button when pressing the switch(switch is good). Cant think of what else to try other than swapping out the ecu wondering wether it would work? Bike hasnt run for five years so thinking maybe its a problem with the immobilizer, if i changed the ecu would it require the same ignition/antenna and key/dash from the donor bike?

Mate this is my bogey bike. I have pretty much given up on it. Mine seems to work with either of the two ECU s that I have. Still bogs down on both though!

@@NatsNackersYard at least yours turns over, I turn the key on everything lights up but nothing hitting the starter button, I wanna take a hammer to it and smash it to bits at the minute.
