Hi Ayo T and Mr Smith Layi,
If we remember my comments on Smiths Gaantfootball, I said exactly what has played out. I will track my post there and repost here. I said Finidi should carry on through the qualifiers provided he is supported by Amokachi. Players seem to respect Amokachi., who seem to have done okay in all his supportive roles. Amokachi's presence will cover for Finidi's quiet side. Amokachi is not a novice, he knows something about winning like Keshi. Our concerns over Finidi are in order after the Mali game. But I think we should keep our fingers crossed over the qualifiers. It will be a full house at the qualifiers. There will be Boniface and co. SA will be facing a stronger Eagles side than they did at the Afcon. I'm sure of this. More players right now are looking to commit to NIgeria. Players like Oliseh and Ebere Eze of Crystal palace are now considering playing for Nigeria from firsthand info. Everyone wants to be at the worldcup. These two players must be chased, courted and toasted if possible right now. This is not about sentimental arguments on patriotism. They are not local breeds like me. Those two will turn things around on the front line. Ebere Eze is the missing puzzle. He has the SWAG that Sunday Oliseh and Odemwingie described as our football in their interviews. Victor Moses said Kanu visited him and told him personally to commit to Nigeria. That he couldn't even argue when he saw Kanu.
This must be communicated to the NFF as a matter of urgency to deploy Legendary figures like Okocha, Kanu or the likes to do the PR part of getting Michael Oliseh and Eze as quick as possible. They have played together for long and have good chemistry. Players like Sadiq Umar may have kissed a goodbye to his chances if these two men can be gotten. Sadiq better goes behind the scenes to resolve issues maybe through Amokachi, before he lives in perpetual regret.

We keep pretending that Amunike is a bad.coach despite all he has done for Nigeria.
We may continue to fool ourselves as usual but when it comes to setting up a formidable attacking force, no Nigerian coach comes close to Amunike. Look at what he did with the Tanzanian team and we have seen over the years that the North Africans have a lot.of respect for his footballing skills as a player and coach.
I cannot understand why the NFF and some of the ogas of Nigerian football hate him so much.
I really hope that our football will grow under Finidi George but we may one day.come to realize that Amunike is not as bad as we make him out to be.
Nigeria needs a local coach that can stand his ground when it matters.

Smith Layi, you said Finidi knows he needs to win the next two games to stay on the job. The same way he knew he needed to win the two previous games in order to get the job. But he didn't. Yet he has gotten the job. I am so disappointed.

Ayo T, you seem to forget Finidi George played with top managers during his playing day, are you saying he would have learnt nothing during that period.

Finidi will qualify Nigeria to the worldcup. This worldcup qualification is between the players and the worldcup. Not about good or bad coach. A coach will add little value and not much to decision that this players take. If the players decide as a unit to do everything to qualify for this worldcup. Nothing will stop them from qualifying.
