I cannot stress how funny the quote “Make out with that child murderer!” Is out of context
I just watched this again tonight. I realized that Freddy didn't actually need to succeed in his plot with Jesse, but instead just get the party goers to see and fear him, so he can invade and kill them in their dreams later. I think Freddy realized this when he was able to invade Jesse's dreams due to his immense fear of coming out (or not). Schneider and Grady were just tests for Freddy to kill outside of dreams.
I don't buy the fear thing. How did Tina in the original fear him. She had no idea who he was.
@@mrhumble2937 maybe not fear of him, but just fear in general. As a dream stalker, he could potentially prey on anyone who feels immense fear at any time.
But freddy killed people out in the real world, he was in the real world. It just didn't make much sense. And they already tested that in the first movie sorta, because Freddy didn't realize it was still a dream first, so it might as well have been the real world. I get he combined himself with Jesse, but that doesn't help Freddy in the real world make sense at all.
I really love that Jesse screams like he's legitimately scared. A lot of men in horror either don't scream, or try to scream in a deep voice that ends up sounding fake.

I'm a straight guy, but nightmare 2 is one of my favorites due to the concept of Freddy using the main character to kill for him, and the scene where he tears himself out of our protag will always be one of my favorite horror sequences

@Anne TheReader I believe the joke here is that Jessie was the character embodying the 'final girl' horror movie trope in this film. Though you could argue his girlfriend also fits the bill, she wasn't the one we were watching through most of it. He had the perfect scream queen yell, was the focus of unnecessary over-sexualized scenes, and ended up as the damsel in distress in the climax. His actual sexual orientation has nothing to do with it, it's his actions and experiences in the movie that give him the right to be called the 'final girl' character. The fact that the 'final girl' is a boy is refreshing, though.
