Okay, enough is enough. Our washer has started to smell a gross, moldy, mildewy smell for weeks now. I finally tackled it using a natural combination of vinegar and baking soda, and the not-so-natural splash of bleach (please use caution as bleach can be harsh on your washer's parts). A 5-minute pre-soak to agitate everything followed by a thorough "brushing" of holes and other hidden parts. Let it soak for an hour, then finished the cycle. Oh, and of course used hot water on its highest setting, without clothes. Voila...fresh and good as new!
