Damn... never expected to see this type of equipment failure. Great video as always, cheers.
Thanks.
Nice video! This is a style I've been chasing for awhile. They all come out good, but my latest version is probably the closest I've ever come to style guidelines. Cheers!
Also just subbed to your channel! First time seeing you pop up in my feed!
Thanks man. I’ve been on CZcams for a few months. Trying to grow. Keep watching. Cheers!
@@IMakeBeer Hang in there you got this! I've been doing it for just over two years on my channel! Cheers my friend!
Sorry for the luck. I just brewed a Kentucky common 2 weeks ago, and had a terrible experience as well. My filter clogged from the flaked corn immediately, I had a stuck mash and stuck sparge. My pump also clogged after the sparge. Turned out to be a 12 hour brew day. I also had a crazy active fermentation for about 24 hours. We will see how it turns out. Cheers
Well good luck!! If it doesn’t end up on the floor you’re doing good.
Oh wow, I have had a few bottle bombs, never the fermenter. I feel your loss. What a pain to clean up. Get back on that horse and brew it again.I am interested in how the grits work. I made a "common" using corn. It was "OK", not great, but I am not a big fan of brown beers per se.
Well I had to make an "Emergency IPA" yesterday with stuff I had in the freezer and basement. I'll have that one out after fermentation. I'll make the Kentucky Common again.
That's not what you want to see when checking your fermentation. That yeast is a beast. It needs enough good head space even without a yeast starter. I Definitely use a blow off tube with it every time.
11/20/2023 If your head is as hard as mine, you'll brew it again straight way😅
Hint from the experience of 3 fails using corn. Amylase enzyme. Ppl will insist that there is enough diastatic power in the grist but the finished beer says otherwise. Had your beer finished it would have been cloudy and have an almost fake type sweetness from the unconverted starch. I believe the grits would be harder to convert than flaked maize..Anyway, losing a beer is always a sad day. Look forward to the Kentucky Common in the near future.. Hey! Happy Thanksgiving!!
Thanks. I immediately made another beer from ingredients I had. I’ll do the Kentucky Common again. Happy Thanksgiving to you.
Damn shame!
Yea it sucked. On to the next............
