    This is the standard Financial Order of Operations priority list for budgeting:
    Necessities
    Starter Emergency Fund (1 month of necessities)
    High Interest Debt
    Full Emergency Fund (3-6 months of expenses)
    Retirement Accounts (20% of gross income)
    Optional Spending

    As an autistic, with executive functions issues, and the impulsivity that comes from the ADHD-ASD budgeting is terribly overwhelming for us. Add to that my situation of being a student, it is a terrible combination of subscriptions needed for study, for software and cloud storage, with a limited income.

    I hope one day I can have a wonderful budget and can save some money. We unfortunately are paycheck to paycheck, have to decided what bills to pay each month. If you are like that is there any hope getting out of debt. Husband and I both work my two kids are young teens. Our bills are the basic bills that I can’t get ride of. Plus a house payment.

  • @cwang011
    @cwang011 Před 4 lety +5

    I’m beginning my cash envelope system this week! I’m excited for tomorrow to do my first envelope stuffing. When you make online purchases do you just deposit the cash back into your checking account after you’ve made the purchase with your debit card or should I perhaps set a “virtual” envelope? I don’t think I would have the discipline for that, yet. Lol. In my budget envelope rules, Amazon/online purchases can only be made from my “Misc” or “Fun” envelope unless it’s for work which I expect to be paid back by a client for.

    • @chiknlittle
      @chiknlittle Před 4 lety +3

      I personally deposit money back into my checking account, mostly so I don’t end up spending my cash that I’ve already allotted for in my budget. For example, we did grocery pickup this week, so I had to pay with my card and I deposited money from my food envelope back into my account. If I hadn’t done that, my cash envelopes would’ve reflected me still having that money.
      Basically, you have a total budget for each category each month, whether that’s virtual or cash spending, you have to find a way to stick to that. For me, it’s depositing cash whenever necessary and notating it in my expense tracker.
      Hope this helps. I’ve been utilizing her method since August 2019 and LOVING it :)

    Could you do a budgeting for college students video?

    • @thebudgetmom
      @thebudgetmom  Před 4 lety +1

      You can definitely email support@thebudgetmom.com if you have any specific questions you are curious about :-) Making a video for college students who are budgeting is very broad due to the fact some people don't work during college, some work part time, some work full-time. Also, some people in college get their tuition and expenses paid by parents, they put themselves through school, or they take out loans.

      For everyone who has purchased either a workbook or the pdf version you will have access to bbp central.com. Miko has detailed videos for every single worksheet. She shows in great detail what they are for and how to complete them. I recommend everyone go check this out.
      I have been doing this system for over two years now and I still go back to the basic resources, because they are so helpful.
      For anyone not making the purchase, you still have alot of help. On Miko's blog www.thebudgetmom.com she has set up a Start here page. She also mentioned her FREE Email Budgeting course. There are tons of free printables and cash envelopes there too.

    I have been watching every video and I am beyond stressed. I am 24 years old with a two year old . I live with my sister for now and my job is through her. I make roughly 2,450 depending on how much work I do. So $515 a week but it fluctuates. I have 1,195 in bills and spend $360 on gas for work roughly . If I get an apartment I can only spend $400 a month and that’s leaves me with only $495 to pay to care for my child , pet, misc and food! That’s not possible. I have a partner but only one income
