  • Adelaide Dolphin Sanctuary at Garden Island is a gem of a place to visit in South Australia.
Located only 20 mins from Adelaide it is home to around 30 bottlenose dolphins who live, feed and breed in the area and often swim alongside kayakers who paddle these waters.
Unfortunately, they were all on sick leave on the day we visited but we still had a lot of fun kayaking along the Port River, getting up close to an old shipwreck and trekking through a 10,000 year old mangrove forest during our day on the water.
Thankyou for watching our video. We really hope you enjoy venturing with us as we discover another great place to visit here in in South Australia.

Aaaw, I was looking for the long gray noses too. Better luck next time. At least you got to enjoy the beautiful scenery of the canoe ride.

Hey Spark your life , thanks for your comments. It was a belated Xmas present from my family so we were all super keen to see one of my favourite creatures but , on this day , it was not to be. Luckily we had some other fun stuff to see but I think we may have to go back later in the year. My friends have had them come right up to their kayak so they are definitely there . Lol

Such a shame you didn’t get to see any dolphins. But looked like great fun!

Hey Kristina! Thanks for watching! I have friends who have seen them come up real close and even swim under their kayak! I was really hopeful, but we weren't so lucky. We might have to try our luck again later this year. Still, it was a good way to spend the day with the fam. thanks again for your comment.

Yeah, it was a bit of a bummer but maybe we'll go again later on the year. Once Tam and I learn how go paddle in a straight line !

It’s unfortunate you didn’t see the dolphins but it still looked like a great time. The shipwreck looked really cool. Daniel and I also zig zag when we are kayaking 😂We have such a hard time going straight. Great video!

Hey thanks so much for watching. My friend has footage of the dolphins swimming right by her kayak so we may have to try again one day atleast to work on our paddling! It's always to the right ! Aggh! Lol thanks again for your comments
