Playing Matlock town in pre-season games still blows my mind! What sort of challenge is this when we’ll be playing Premiership standard football teams this season. Madness
It's the first pre season so as Warne said more of a training game so didn't matter the calibre of opponents and also it gives the club the size of Matlock publicity so if any Derby fans in Matlock can't get an away ticket to Plymouth or Sunderland then they may consider going to watch the local non league game. It really isn't a big deal.
We have to give Collins a chance. Where was the other 'forward' Washington? My mind boggles what we kept those 2 clowns for and released KS and JW who got us up.

@@dean5828 Why does it matter if they're challenging football, we aren't playing prime time Barcelona every week. Realistically they've had 9 weeks out of the game so need to get back into the swing of things or would you rather we have a load of injuries for playing games too difficult too soon
@@dean5828 We will not be playing Premier League standard football teams this season, we are in the championship as are all the other teams we will be facing (aside from cup games), if they were premier league standard they would be in the premier league... it's our first pre season game, it's a warm up, we played them in last years pre season too and we did alright during the season. It's a good game to open our account, nothing too strenuous and shows that we are definitely leagues above them which is what we want to see
