    when the dog is charging you, run directly toward it and kick it as hard as you can in the throat, thereby using it's inertia against it. a well delivered kick can easily crush the animal's airway and will stop it in its tracks. this technique will be fatal to the animal, but if it comes down to me or the dog I'm walking away everytime.

    • @8digitPDX
      @8digitPDX Před 7 lety +216

      David marzolino almost any good hard kick to the chest area of the dog will do a lot of damage as they are also vulnerable to broken ribs and groin hits. What that guy in the video does is move around forcing the dog to hang on and preventing it from being able to reposition its jaws to the neck and then basically wrestle the dog using the human body weight to an advantage. Their backs are not quite flexible enough to handle bending back stretched and twisting, so there is a way to break the dogs back using your legs and a twisting motion once you have enough weight on it. The technique works against a single dog, but you are screwed against two or three but you can at least kill one before the others get you.

    • @davidmarzolino7159

      Yes two or three would be very hard to defend against, at least without weapons anyway.

    If all else fails, jab your thumbs into both ear holes as hard as you can, like you are trying to crush the dog's skull. Sounds stupid, but it works. I saved my dog from a pitbull attack by doing this to the pit. It was mauling my dog's face. I tried everything, shouting, pulling, poking it's eyes, choking, sitting on it's back, it felt NOTHING and wouldn't stop thrashing my dog around by the head, until I remembered the ear trick, it immediately let go and walked away confused.
    My dog (she's only 16lbs) healed up just fine by the way, after a vet visit. She had something like 10 puncture wounds and a tear on her cheek that ripped the surrounding facial skin up off of the muscle. You can't tell it happened now.

      +Puppycakez good advice. Another good one is to grab with both arms under the rear legs of the aggressive animal and lift off the ground and drag away while tightly clamping your arms together. Imagine making a circle around your chest, that is how you cup both of the dogs rear legs. The dog should release immediately. Very useful for larger dogs like German sh. and rottweiler, etc. Thanks for sharing your insights. Inspired me to login just to reply to you.

Also, I'm his owner and he stops on command, so the element of fear and panic or shock is not there at all, which makes all the difference, and helps me properly submit him.

      dive rolling is better than regular diving when it comes to properly breaking a fall, and keeping momentum. its easy to dive roll from static position. that demonstrating guys was more so flashy and extra. All you have to do is just forward into a pushup and bring your head to your chest before releasing your biceps to smoothly roll across your shoulders. the rest of the body does the work for you. you don't even need to be physically fit. the body travels where the head goes.

But it got me to think hard about what would happen if my gun jammed, or the primer did not go off, etc. I believe I would brace for large impact in my stance, put out my left arm (least dominant) to take the first bite, and have my knife in my other hand for an immediate response upon the animal's first bite.

      Max R That's part of it, no matter what it is, even if it's being something thrown at you, if you can't move away from the object fast enough, your best bet is to move with the object to reduce impact and if you time it correctly, you can even make the object roll off your body but if it's something that clinches on, it'll most likely hurt like hell either way but done properly there will be less damage.

    I have been attacked by a dog. Keep your eyes open and be prepared to fight. No matter how much it hurts. Always face the dog. Try to breath, not shallow breathing. Use something on you, a coat or purse/bag to push toward the dogs mouth. Dogs have weak spots. When it bit my hand I pushed my hand farther down its throat. All I could thing about was choking that dog. It worked. Hold your fear back as long as you can.

    • @jgedas9469
      @jgedas9469 Před rokem

      I agree with you. Many people say don't look at the dog's eyes. But what saved me from having two bully dogs run toward me on a farm in NC many years ago, was to stop and look at their eyes, because I didn't have time to run and jump to the back of the truck. While looking into their eyes, moving from one to another, and taking a position like prepared to fight if they jump, kept them growling at a distance. It was a scary experience but I could not let them smell that I was in fear. When the female stopped growling I made a friendly gesture inviting her to come near until I was able to pet her head, while the male was still growling but not aggressively as before. Finally, the owner came with a rifle in his hand and kicked both dogs for not having attacked me. We were working in the area for International Paper. Later, my boss told me he had a weed plantation on his farm. I never forgot this experience but keeping calm and fighting if it was necessary was the only option I had from being attacked. So if a dogs come toward me or bark at me I stop and look deeply in their eyes.

    At the end when they were talking about the dog’s teeth and how easily they could bite into the arm, did they say “in 10 minutes he’s gonna eat your bone”? I was attacked by a German Shepard once and I was bitten on the wrist right in that same general area they were talking about, and it was able to maintain a hold on me in that instant so the bite was only held for like a second. And in that second, my skin was ripped open and the bone was exposed. That happened in literally the blink of an eye. So to say the dog would be eating your bone in 10 minutes... way maybe in a controlled environment like this, where training is done and gear is used, maybe it would be eating your bone in 10 minutes. But in a regular dog attack scenario, assuming the dog does get the chance to make bite you there and get to your bone, it could get to your bone way, way sooner than 10 minutes.

If a dog attacks my dog (severely), best believe I'm holding onto the choke until there is no more life left in the dog. If it were to mortally wound my dog, i honestly would choke it unconscious, let him wake up, then beat it to death because a choke isn't painfull enough to me to be satisfied

    That was badass. It would have worked anyway but the dog knew you werent a threat bc you are friends so a real dog attacking would keep trying to fight you while holding it.

    I've seen a dog being pepper sprayed in the eyes, tazed, hit with a metal post, poked, shot at and still continue to attack.

      Legs are a dog's weakness. You have to accept you're going to take a couple bites, but the same theories of snapping joints in humans apply to dogs. They didn't evolve to deal with an intelligent bipedal creature with thumbs. No legs. No leverage.

      Yes! very easy to break its foot with a good stomp if you cant get your hands on its legs

      when they bite into something, there instinct says hold on till prey is still. he says this in the video.
      So don't freak out. Pepper spray him and tell the victim to freeze. Either that or go and kill the dog. But hitting him will only trigger him more to follow his instinct and hold on to.

      I know there are so many dog attacks but they are really that prolific?
      Where did this info come from? What is curious is the breed that causes the majority of attacks that end in a human fatality....80% ! I would assume dogs deaths are even more prevalent.
      These Far outweigh all other breeds. Usually the person who dies is familial or knows the owner!
      It's Staffordshire Bull Terriers...I laugh when people tell me they are not dangerous.
      And I absolutely agree with your assessment of why you carry. But, I am more concerned with people because they use weapons but your point is well taken.

      I was already bitten by a dog which injured ligaments in my knee. so you can say I'm proof there is more chance you would need to defend yourself from a dog than a person.

    • @JimmyGunXD556
      @JimmyGunXD556 Před 7 lety +1

      dogbite.org has statistics and horror stories of people whom already died and seriously disfigured from dog attacks. the dead children are the saddest.

    • @countrysamurai
      @countrysamurai Před 7 lety +2

      I was severely bitten as a child. It was my own fault, reaching over the fence to pet what i thought was a "nice" dog. I learned. But I was too young to be armed and I would not have been justified to injure or kill the dog, considering he was in his own yard.
      But I have drawn down on 5 separate occasions and they decided it wasn't worth getting shot over...so they immediately retreated. I have no desire to shoot someone but believe me, I am more than ready to do so.
      You can do the math.

      I understand not wanting to get bitten but its good to fire a warning shot. All untrained dogs will immediately retreat after that.
