    If you are looking for the Google Play Store ENJOY FLY and C-FLY apps & can't find them, then you may have to manually install them by downloading the App directly to your phone and installing the APK file: apkpure.com/enjoy-fly/com.enjoyfly.uav/versions

      Hey Cap'n, I just ordered my Aurora from geekbuy, looks to be arriving next week, Monday but who knows with this COVID19 madness. Anyways, I wanted to thank you for sharing the links to the apps, I was almost going desperate when I didn't find any of the apps that are supposed to work with the JJRC X12 Aurora. Can't wait to get mine, hook it up and see if I can fly it. I have a patch of green with some trees in front of the apartment block I live in so I think I could give it a quick run to see how stable it is under GPS+OpticalFlow+Sonar sensors.
      I know these versions have been influenced by the DJI models they compete with so I'm keen to see how well they perform. I already have three other drones, older models (CX-20 and Quanum Nova Pro plus a "manual" Syma X8 which I mutated into a brushless version but since it lacks GPS is just for flying around for short runs)
      Anyways this video was really helpful, particularly the links for the apps.
      I just hope my tablet fits in the phone mount, otherwise I'll have to design and 3D print an adapter, no big deal just something to "customize" it. My smartphone doesn't know about 5GHz WiFi but surprisingly my 3 years old tablet apparently does - it connects to my 5G WiFi router so it must be up to something.
      As always, nice video. Keep it up.
      Cheers,
      Denis
      PS: Well the drone got here, fast which was impressive, then again I paid for fast shipping. Now the bad parts:
      1. The apps (neither Enjoy-FLY nor C-Fly) don't seem to work properly. At first the drone took a long time connecting to the controller but eventually the light on the back of the drone turned flashing green from flashing blue. At this point I was able to get the app to show the image when connected to the Drone-xxxx wifi while also the drone was connected to the controller. When I entered the app it kept telling me it's under the remote controller's control. I was also able to calibrate the compass and gyro. All seemed good to go. Now When closing the app it told me to unbind from the app. It seemed odd but I turned the drone back on, the controller and went into the app, where it said Unbind app I clicked the button. This is where my nightmare began. Now the drone keeps flashing blue and there's no Drone-xxxx wifi anymore!!!! Neither my tablet nor the remote controller can find the drone to connect to it.
      Anyone else seen this odd behavior before? Any ideas how to "reset to factory defaults" the drone so the darn thing is ready to be found and paired with the controller again?
      It goes without saying I've been scrubbing the internet high and low but there's not even a chinglish document or hint of how to fix this.

      Hey bud, been watching your videos for a while now, I really enjoy your reviews I've been getting into drones and want to eventually start doing some aerial videography. I had a Yuneec Typhoon 4k which I really loved but since I was such an amateur I had issues controlling it and crashed it a couple times. I've since then sold it and have been looking for an inexpensive but good quality drone. I've seen in some sites that they are advertising this as a 4k camera drone but every review I've seen including yours say it's really a 1080p camera. Is that only with slower memory or can you get close to 4k with a higher speed SD card? Thanks in advance for any input, I'll keep watching your videos and hopefully one day I'll be making my own! Have a good evening and stay safe during this pandemic!

      @@legacylee If you had a Typhoon H before, then you would be stepping down big time to this drone. This is an entry level budget drone, whereas the Typhoon H is more a pro drone. Perhaps a Mavic Mini or higher would be more your speed. What you see in this video, is what this drone can do and nothing more.

    • @legacylee
      @legacylee Před 4 lety

      @@CAPTAINDRONE798first of all thanks for the quick reply, I don't get that with a lot of the channels I message, I appreciate that. It was actually the Q500, but as i said, I crashed it a couple times as I kept making rookie mistakes. Perhaps I should've purchased something like this before shelling out $700 for the Typhoon Q500 ($600 for the drone another $100 for the additional battery) so I still need to master drone flight before getting back up to that level of drone again. I've been looking into the Mavic Mini, I want something with great camera quality but with some kind of obstacle avoidance without spending an arm and a leg. So you think the mini should be a good fit? Thanks again brother, keep flying I look forward to more videos!

    • @CAPTAINDRONE798
      @CAPTAINDRONE798  Před 4 lety +2

      @@legacylee The mini is great with basic features in a small size (that is the selling point), however, it has no follow or obstacle avoidance. You'd have to move up to the Mavic Air for that. The Mavic Air should go on sale soon since the replacement is coming out in the next month or two.

    I ended up purchasing one after watching your video. I truly admire your professionalism and how go through the full specs and functions of the drone. Can’t afford a Mavic Mini, Yuneec Mantis G or Husban Zino Pro at the moment so I’ll have to settle for this one right now until then. Thanks again for putting out these videos.

    Thank you for this review, it is the best demonstration I have found. I'm in Australia and first considered the Zino Pro because of all the issues and limitations with the original Zino, but they are about $200 more here than importing it. I don't trust any of the sellers feedback scores in online stores like Aliexpress and Banggood and they can't be air freighters anyway, so they would take weeks to arrive by ship, so I went with the X12. I'm glad I did because not only does it look better IMO, but it has more features, smaller and seems to have less issues plus it's a little cheaper ($399AUD 2x battery and bag). The Zino Pro here is about $600-700 with 2 batteries and no bag. Still awaiting it's arrival, can't wait!

    Got mine on it's way thanks to you and the reviews here. I have the 4k version coming. Cannot wait. Upgrading from a hubsan 507a and this will be so much better I'm sure. Mainly wanted for the gimble which I've never had and the tracking which looks awesome, aswell as flight time. I've had many other cheap drones until they stopped working for various reasons and my hubsan has been the only one with GPS so far and this with three ways of holding position will be a lot better. Thanks for the videos, please keep them coming.

    Okay, finally THIS!!!!!!!!!!! We knew it would happen and it has a 3 Axis Gimbal with a good( not perfect) but really good 1080p camera. This is absolutely the one that breaks that barrier finally. We will be seeing more now, JJR. has thrown down the gauntlet on this one and said here it is come get me fellas. I’m really excited about this, may not have all the features of a DJI drone but for a first time hobbist this is a solid homerun of a drone. I don’t see how you could wrong with this. I’m really impressed and excited that someone has finally done it. Yes this Mav Mini is coming but for Starter in drones this could very well be the one to start with. Excellent Steve, great to see this bird.

      @Brendan Koh Wow, usually before you blindly insult someone you try to find out something about them. I've been flying DJI for over 2 years and DJI only. You should go back to your Syma toys and let the grown men and women fly the real masters of the sky. Currently own a Mavic Air and Spark. Had a Phantom 3SE but after I purchased the Air I sold it a Farm owner who wanted to get some pictures of this farm and Video for family. With extras I have over 700.00 in the Spark and 1300.00 in my Air. Knowledge is power. You have none. An ignorant person is one who lacks knowledge, again you have none. Don't walk on thin ice, you may fall through.

    Well, I got it last week, my first drone ever.
    Crashed it twice indoors and then once more outside at my small backyard.
    Took it on the next day to a open field, didn't even notice that 2 props were a little damaged and didn't probably waited enough for good satellite viewing ( and perhaps I made more mistakes) ,; and very windy that day. It took off and... flew away... I panicked and ... LOST it! I looked everywhere for ours and no success.
    The next day ( and the night before was rainy) , I went walking with my wife on another field, and suddenly, she FOUND IT ! It was upside down in the mud and it was rainy. Took it home, cleaned it, dried with a fan, specially the sensors, and and put it in a bowl with rice for 2 days (had to try something). In the meantime , watched more tutorials carefully trying to pay more attention to all details.
    On the next day ( less windy ), I replaced the damaged propellers, and went back to the same field.
    And then....... it flew beautifully and stable! It survived all that punishment with FLYING colors ! Not even a clumsy creature like me could destroy it...It survived me, the crashes, the mud , the rain..
    Little beast !
    2 successful long flights so far ....Just ordered more props, just in case....

    CAP', got a question for ya:
    I noticed that when the controller is on the image follow in Altitude mode is no longer active, it keeps telling me that I need to be in GPS mode to engage in TRACK. It seems that the "active track" feature is only available in Altitude mode when connected directly to the drone, the extra icon to follow the target is not showing up. So whenever the controller is activated it takes precedence and the Image follow is not available anymore. I'll have to give it a try at some point but wanted to check how was it when you tried the track image?

      If you are big on the camera, then this one would be better than the F11. Pretty much all GPS drones are good for beginners. This one is good, but since it has a budget 3 axis gimbal, it is fragile. So if you crash, that may be it. If you think you will crash, go for a drone like the F11 or BUGS 4W that can survive a crash.

    Ok, so after watching a ton of videos on drones in this price range, this seems to be a good first drone.
    However, now I am coming up on realizing this same drone is available under at least 3 different names?
    CFly Faith, JJRC X12, and Eachine ex4.
    Is there any particular reason to choose one over another? Or is it really just the same manufacturer with different labels, pick the cheapest at that moment?
    If so, then I assume all spare parts would be interchangeable, like, batteries? So if I find a 1-battery model, and spare batteries after, the branding will or won't matter? 2 batteries would probably be enough to start, but the Gearbest version with 3 batteries won't ship to the US. Odd.

    Very thorough review, Cap'n, and what a nice drone with a ton of features for a reasonable price. I see only one real drawback, but it's a major one: the camera. With all they put into this and a 3 axis gimbal, why not at least a 2K camera? It'd be worth the small extra price, but for me, the stability and so on make this a drone for pictures and the 1080 is just too weak for anything serious. Colors and lack of distortion are just fine, but it just didn't seem sharp to me.

    • @INTELMAXELL
      @INTELMAXELL Před 4 lety +1

      Camera will be more money. You see more then half of pricing of camera drones is the camera quality. The better the camera the more expensive. Parts like brushless motors, GPS., VPS and gimbals are cheap compared to higher end camers.

    • @dalepremo3695
      @dalepremo3695 Před 4 lety +1

      @@INTELMAXELL Agreed. If I were starting out, I'd pay another $50 or $75 for 2k in the X12 - but as someone else said, then you might as well get the ZINO for that money - and as I recall it's 4K. One thing's for sure, the prices for better performing drones is coming down and this X12 really does seem to perform very well.

    It's nice to see the drone performing well. I just got mine, and it's the exact opposite. Major toilet bowling. My first 2-battery session consisted of doing the calibrations, taking off, getting massive toilet bowling, bringing it back, redoing compass calibration, rechecking that I was in GPS mode, verifying plenty of satellites, taking off, major toilet bowling, bringing it back, redoing compass calibration.... ad nauseum. Repeated 7 times. Oh, and the drone wouldn't respond to gimbal control, and the video was jello-in-a-mild-earthquake. I watched IdahoQuadcopter's review and he had the same issues until finally it started to work better on his second day (after a few more failures including the toilet bowling and not taking gimbal commands). His comment section had numerous "Same here" complaints. I can only hope that this thing will start acting better sometime as Idaho's finally did, or I wasted my money.

    Build and flight performance appeared to be quite impressive for the price. However the video quality seemed to be lacking even with a 3axis gimbal. The playback appeared to be stuttering or dropping the odd frame and was a tad over sharpened. Obviously it has been built to a price but it might be worth waiting for the Hubsan Zino to be discounted, upon the release of the Pro version, as this has better video quality, albeit without the extra sensors.

    Thank you for your reply to my comment below (and all your videos). After watching all of your reviews of MANY drones, I just ordered the Eachine Ex4 with two batteries and case. I came very close to ordering the CSJ X70 (aka "the beast")/X80, but the EX 4 (JJRC X12), though a bit more money, seemed to be a notch better in several areas: While all the drones seemed to fly well, the EX4 seemed to have better video and photos than the others I'd been considering (except the Mavic Mini and other DJI products), plus a 3 axis gimbal. It had a SD slot missing in the CSJ/JJRC drones. The only think I seem to be giving up on the EX4 is the LCD display in the controller. Interestingly, the JJRC X12 Aurora would have been $50 more so based on your confirmation taht the EX4 is the same drone I went that way. While the Mavic Mini kept my attention, it seemed silly to spend $500 on a drone that I could crash in 5 minutes or upgrade to something great in 3 months when the Mini's great advantage seems to be mostly in the camera quality. I looked closely at all the drones in your reviews and the EX4 just seemed to be the right balance of quality features and price coming in just over $250 shipped. Thank you again.
