Happy to finally launch this! It's the first episode of a new youtube interview series. Every two weeks I'll be uploading an interview with an industry artist, from studios like Riot, Blizzard, Disney and more! Recorded in LA a few months ago. Made possible thanks to a grant from the QLD Australian government :D
Blender Guru its great.I am 15 and i am in india. There's no scope for vfx in india. If you have ever seen a bollywood vfx you will know it.I want to become a vfx artist.I even don't have proper pc.It does not have graphics card.I know after effects and blender.Well i don't know much about blender.its but tricky. What should i do for vfx?
Perfect start Andrew of this interview series! I'm a big fan of Andrew Kramer! Can't wait for the others!
Tell riot to give us 100 rp every month.
Sounds like an epic series. Absolutely pumped
Superb! This peek into a perspective of a person pushing the industry forward is very intriguing. Looking forward to the next video! I also wanted to say that the new strategy you're taking, in the tutorial composition, of cutting out just the tips and techniques is very enjoyable and of course, all the work centered around the community and the creators is very impressive! Keep up the good work!
I started my career 11 years ago with After Effects and videocopilot tutorials. We used to watch some tutorials and have NO IDEA what was happening but Kramer was so entertaining we'd just watch them over and over again and dream of all the things we could build.
Now I'm the director of video production and editing at a digital media advocacy studio doing awesome stuff every day!
The man that changed the VFX industry.Thank you, you (Andrew Kramer) also changed a lot of peoples lives for the better.
Andrew Kramer - My Uber driver was discussing that he was entering a career in IT, and I showed him the motion graphics/animation/vfx work I'm doing now, and he was like... "how can I get started with all that?". I told him to visit your website first, as it taught me so much, but more importantly, inspired me to pursue this line of work, and now maybe even my Uber driver. Thank you for everything. You are a modern day hero, saving people from boring jobs :) Much love, from South Africa
Andrew² !
3x(Andrew²) !
age of andrews 😄 my two favorite teachers.
hey you again
The great Andrews finally meet!
The laugh "BLENDER GURU" had when Andrew krammer said "I want to do blender tutorials next" at 36:55
Soooo cynical laugh...
#love from INDIA to both of u guys.
Whoa! Can't believe you just interviewed my other favorite Andrew! So happy this finally happened!
This has been on my CZcams watchlist for 13 months and I finally watched it. Definitely worth the two hours. Thanks Andrew (Price) for creating and releasing this invaluable interview, and thanks Andrew (Kramer) for your life-long dedication to quality VFX education.
Whaaaat? This was so VERY unexpected. Guru meets Guru. Oh this is just special.
This interview is one of the best, I have seen Andrew Kramer in some talks but never pay attention good his expressions are and how accurate when he tries to describe things, I am excited to meet him next week here in London :)
I have based a lot of my company on both of your journeys and companies 🍻 This has been quite informative and inspiring, thank you for making this
heyy whatup Matt, loved your interview on The Futur!
Hey Matt! Any chances on getting Cine Designer for Blender? Cinema 4D is way too expensive for just getting your product!
Perhaps, I started with Maya + Arnold, but I go to the DCC or Game Engine that best serves the film industry's needs.
1. UI/UX is a big part of that as most Cine Designer users are NOT 3D artists but film industry people. C4D UI is most visually straight forward to learn. Most DPs can get up and running the first day. It's very similar to FCPX, Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop. Blender is weird, weird enough to scare away new users.
2. The indie film industry is already very C4D centric. A surprising amount of directors/DPs already use C4D, the free version with After Effects or the demo/student.
3. DCCs and Game Engines are just places to view and work with 3D models at this point. But I want the DCC with the best off the shelf render engines, plugins, etc. Redshift may make a Blender version but it goes Maya -> C4D -> others with them. If a new GPU render engine comes out or new Xparticles etc. comes out the chances of it coming to Blender are very low. That means my users can't take advantage of it.
4. Cinema 4D + Xpresso + Python is a lovely development platform that has a great community of developers who make user facing plugins and the Instagram/Online community of users is incredible.
5. Especially after watching the video interview with the founder of Blender, I don't feel comfortable making my company based on open source software. My relationship with Maxxon/Nem is very straight forward and my company helps keep their company in business. I need to understand how Blender stays alive.
That being said EVEE looks great and Cycles looks great too. I could build a Blender version in 2 months, but I could also make an Unreal Engine 4 or Houdini version or just keep making the C4D version better.
I understand that Blender would mean a lower entry cost for users, but I am also hesitant to release into the Blender community that is not used to paying for software. I am watching the Redshift 4 Blender release very closely and I know their devs.
Cheers!
Matt
Cinematography Database Good head on ya shoulders lad
For the first time in 5 years. I have mo camera or lenses. Gonna buy your game and previz my the shit out of my stories
Andrew Kramer is awesome, really cool dude, really hard working, and still manage to have his integrity, and not forgetting where he came from. I'm truly inspired, and carrying on thanks to people like him.
It's so great to see interviews like this. My interest is in modeling for 3D printed Jewelry, but to see into the minds of industry experts and how they start, this is truly a gem. Thank you both Andrews!
It doesn't matter the exterior, only your mind, your work....... I loved it !!!!! That's the truth!
"Whats up guys! I'm A.Kramer and welcome to another very exciting tutorial!", i'm gonna rember this untill i die..Thanks Andrew!
Andrew Kramer's tutorials are the *best*
SDG Danny After the ones from the other Andrew :D
I don't even use Blender or After FX but I still watch both of these guy's videos for workflow ideas
Andrew Price's tuts not bad either :D
That's a bold claim for someone subscribe to Blenderguru haha
Thank You sir!
This is sooo great to see this kind of videos. Kramer is one of the top artist that influences the whole cgi industry. So it’s really good pick to interview Kramer! Thanks Andrew for creating this video. So inspiring for us!
I like when he says (You have to love the idea of creating something from nothing).
I was like "good, I'll listen 5 minutes and maybe watch some other day" but have already been 35 minutes (and counting). Quality content, as always
my two fave tutorial gurus in the world...in one video.... Love you brothers...thanks a million!
My two favorite tutorial makers... Are in the same video, talking for almost 2 hours. 😀
nahh no way i found u back here, your petition short is the best bro.
Andrew is a LEGEND. I know plenty of guys around here that got jobs using demos consisting solely of effects from his tutorials.
After the Corridor Crew video with Andrew i found this interview wanting more of him and I'm not disappointed. Absolutely fascinating guy.
ahhhh this is so surreal! i watched both your tutorials and videos religiously in highschool and to see you both in the same room is just amazing x'D
A real jewel of an interview. Many CZcamsr`s talk about how inspirational they want to be for their fan base. Andrew Kramer and Price do really hold up to that promise. Great job thanks to both of you for being that candid.
"UI is so important for the experience. With good UIs you don't feel like you're working, it just work as fast as you're thinking."
Andrew Kramer
I like that!!!!
I have followed VideoCopilot for over 10 years and the thing I love about Andrew Kramer is his true artist spirit. He aims to creative and built his business around that instead of the other way around. I will be forever grateful for the education I have received from the progression of his career.
Video Copilot was a turning point in my career! Even though i am a game developer now, I started things there! ANDREW KRAMER unforgettable name. Thanks!
Big fan of Andrew Kramer since 2007, and Big fan of Blender Guru about 1 year :) thanks for all great things you doing Guys :)
Me too lol Ur not alone
Andrew Kramer has the clearest most efficient tutorials. He's also entertaining and funny.
Great series, SO inspiring. I've just discovered a few of them and I can't wait to binge watch while I work on my side projects. Blender Guru, you're doing a great job.
Well done Andrew! This interview was so professionally done! I can't wait to see the following episodes. Thanks for taking the time to do this
I'm SO happy this happened! I missed Andrew Kramer and I love Andrew price so this is the best of everything!
Why the hell did 62 people downvote this. One of the most inspiring interviews I've seen.
I only wish I could click the thumbs up multiple times! Awesome work Andrew P. Thanks for sharing! Looking forward to more in the interview series.
Very cool interview. I live near Andrew and actually ran into him while shopping in a grocery store in Murrieta (California) once. I stopped and pointed (like a fan) and said, "You're.... Andrew... Kramer!" He smiled, put the palms of his hands together and did a humorous little bow greeting. His tutorials are the best. Love this interview. Very cool hearing some of the back story of Video Copilot and his experiences. Thanks for the video.
This is really awesome. I learned After Effects from Andrew Kramer’s videos 6 years ago and just recently finished the Blender beginner series from Andrew Price. Thanks for all you’ve given to the community!
I've only joined your channel about a month ago and from that moment you got my attention the way Andrew Kramer did, what a pleasant surprise it was to watch the two of you together. Great video, Thanks!
I really missed the interviews and podcasts you made Andrew, so glad they are finally returning. They are perfect listening material for me while I work. Keep 'em coming!
Plot twist: Andrew rented that office for the day, just to look professional for the interview, when in reality he still works in his basement
which andrew?
Chessguy He works for Bad Robot. If he worked in a basement it would be a million dollar basement.
LOL!
hahaha
@@NerdsPlayhouse You clearly didn't watch the entire video. Watch it, and you'll understand why this joke is funny.
both andrew's are deadly artistic being. kramer is such an open book and a really honest person.
This man was who got my 15 year old ass into visual effects and editing. Thanks for doing this interview!
One thing I like about this interview is how it doesn't feel scripted like the other ones, the exchange of questions and answers were so natural that I felt like I was in the room with them and not watching a CZcams video.
So inspiring.
I love Andrew Kramer!!!!!! He's a genius!!!!
Oh, Kramer. Many sleepless nights have been spent with him. :D Tho it was very funny how you were so surprised about the blender bullet tutorial because you were talking about that with him on your podcast interview some years ago. But I will forgive that, because of the cinematic effect. :P
Yeah I forgot about that until seeing it in the edit haha.
Oh, that happens to us all sometimes. :)
Hi Sorbias! i love your tutorials!
shoutouts to andrew, this guy deep down actually cares about the young kids trying to learn these programs, he deeply cares about his customers and helping them improve and reach their artistic goals, thats why he's so successful, thats the key
legendary guy
I can´t thank you enough for this interview! Andrew is such a great guy. Nice, talented, fun, inspiring. He has changed the lifes of thousands if not millions people.
One of the best tutors ever, he's funny and keeps you engrossed.
Andrew Kramer changed a lot in my life, I found myself in motion design through several years following his works and tutorials, Great Interview!!
wow. my 2 favorite tutorial creators of all time in one video :)
2 hours already? That was fast, these two can go on and on for days and I wouldn't tire listening. There should be a PODCAST by now right? RIGHT??? Who's with me?
No way OMG !!!!! Two Andrew's in the same video this is overload for me , i love you both guys keep up , specailly your tutorials
My two favourite tutors finally together in one video. Cool staff, Andrews :D More videos like this! I’m really interested who will be the next guest :)
This is like Bruce Lee vs Jet Li so epic.
Two of my favorite teachers and people talking. This is amazing.
This is one of those special moments in space time history.
Man.. I can feel the energy in the room.
Thanks for having done this, Learned so much
So inspiring and insightful. Andrew Kramer's tutorials really opened my mind when I was in middle school.
I like the recommendation to start learning by doing your own project. Totally the right approach.
That smile in Andrew's face during the entire video. :)
Lluc RB bisexual 😂
Andrew Kramer is a true hero, thank you
It's so crazy to see both of these guys in a room together, I remember watching Andrew Kramer's tutorials since the very first tutorial he made a long time ago. Fast forward a few years and this interview happens. Glad to see this interview happen, Kramer is always so funny. Also the irony of you both being named Andrew is uncanny!
That’s a great statement you’ve made: ‘how many wanna be vfx people actually make a short or even a sketch’ to apply (or gain) their knowledge. As a filmmaker and vfx Guy, I encounter dozens of colleagues who have never even edited a film! A lot a big budget vfx guys have no idea how cameras work (even people whom studied film don’t even know the physics behind optics!, or what that little circle with the one through it is in their camera). Then you work on an indie film and you see enormous multi talented people breaking boundaries to solve problems. As an engineer by trade that’s when I feel most at home. And probably that’s why the indie film I worked on keeps raking in awards because of the hard work everyone put into that project.
Andrew Kramer, man I'm a big fan of yours. Been following you since mid 2000s. Thanks for all your hard work man, you've contributed so much to my personal success as a designer. Thank you!
Great video and interview. I have followed Andrew from his first tutorial on VC. It is so great to see he seems to be the same humble (and mega talented) guy as when he started. His sharing with the community will always be invaluable as will yours. Thanks for this!
I'm only 15 minutes in and I can't believe how great this is !
It's not dry, it's informative and really entertaining!
I absolutely LOVE this guys attitude and mindset. People like him make 3d possible for the rest of us
Andrew and Andrew; the masters of CZcams VFX.
It's a rare day when I can sit & watch two talking heads for more than 15 minutes. This ranks right up with Letterman's "My Next Guest Needs No Introduction", on NetFlix. Well done!
Two of the greatest Andrew in the same place.
Video Copilot is best youtube channel for After Effect tutorials. Thanks, Andrew Kramer.
Andrew , I start my career because you. You bring me in !
I’ve been following video copilot and blender guru for years! wanting to see such a video for so long!! You guys do the best tutorials!!
Yes, yes, yes! I didn't even watch 10 seconds but I already know this is gold. Thank you!
I love this guy! I litteraly got my first job in one of the biggest company of my country and I made a lot of money right after school through his tutorial. Adrew Kramer is amazing
Thank you Andrew, for both your tut videos and for this wonderful new serie.
Amazing interview. Very raw and open. Worth the entire watch. A lot of good lessons to take away from this. Great job Andrew.

It just made my day.. two of my favorite artists and teachers in one video ! It feels like DC and Marvel in one movie
Literally just subscribed to Video Copilot yesterday!! My God this series is gonna be great!
Thanks for this interview, Andrew (both of you). I saw that it was nearly two hours and didn't think I'd watch it all, but you guys went pretty deep into a lot of interesting places, so the time just flew by. CZcams's speed setting helped too :D Looking forward to the rest of the series!
This video is literally the most exciting video on youtube for me.coffee set, time set, lets hear the MASTERS!! 🤗
Big fan of both of you two. Thanks for giving so much to the community it's much appreciated.
Two of the best Andrews in the web meet at last!
You two have taught me a lot!
How to learn VFX? Shoot a movie yourself and learn on the job. That is SUCH great advice. I love this guy!
I was watching your tutorials thinking 'man, this guy is like the Andrew Kramer of Blender!"... then this video showed up. Great stuff:)
Andrew Kramer and Andrew Price are the best.
HEY WHATS UP, ANDREW KRAMER HERE

Love this interview. Really looking forward to coming videos in this series. This is probably the first interview style video that i have watched in a long time. Love the concept and just the inside knowledge that you wouldn't get anywhere else.

Love it when Andrew does an impression of himself
New version of element 3d? Yee I'm hyped !
