    I patiently waited for a zip tutorial from you. It’s finally here ❤️. By far you are my favorite CZcams sewing guru. You explain clearly. I have been watching so many zip tutorials and I get confused and demotivated. They all seems complicated for me (and my learning ability). I love your tutorials because it illustrates the simplest way to get things done. Once I achieve getting this done only then I have the courage to try the complicated tutorials. ❤️

    Your step by step process is the easiest/least fussy I’ve seen! Fly zippers have been on my mind lately so this is quite timely. My only question is why the fly shield isn’t a bit wider to extend all the way to the edge in back (in effect lining up both serged edges) instead of being a strip just wide enough to cover the zipper back? My thought is that it would look cleaner with only 1 edge of stitching showing when looking at the back side of the fly, and may be easier to line up and sew. Is there a reason it should be narrower and not extend over to meet the other serged edge or is it user preference? Thanks so much for the sneak peak and for all the great teaching you do - you’ve given me so much confidence in the sewing room!

    • @ThoughtfulCreativity
      @ThoughtfulCreativity  Před 2 lety +2

      Lin, hello there! You have a great point! For me, it is totally a user preference as long as it does not compromise anything else - fit or ability to move in the pants. I would say when you are ready for the shield part - just see how wide you want it so that way is it is how you envisioned it. But a very great point, thank you! And thank you for being a member, I truly appreciate it!
