    Hey Derek,
    Finally some DD2 videos are in the pipeline. I am still waiting for axle installation/replacement vid, hopefully you will manage to do it this time. ;)

      Marcin Dylewski are you talking DD2 axle replacement specific or axle replacement general?

      @@PowerRepublic I've seen your video about replacement for non-direct drive and it was awesome. I kind of imagine how to do that in DD2 but seeing that done by expert would be really cool. I've never done that and frankly speaking thinking about doing it scares the s..t out of me. :)

    Hi! Finally DD2! You want a DD2 questions so here you are: I can see there's lighter (600g!) Li-ion battery (with orange cap on top) available for buying instead of standard one - besides lose weight ofc, is there any other advantages? 3S li-ion battery has little higher voltage than standard batt, so maybe it's better for coil/ignition/spark system? I mean, makes you faster ofc :)

    • @PowerRepublic
      @PowerRepublic  Před 4 lety +2

      Great question. yes they are lighter. as too Power difference, I haven't dyno tested the results between the Li-Ion and Lead acid. maybe I can do it this week and let you know.......

    Hi Derek, Nice to see another video.
    I have a question for my Rotax max Sr (non evo) engine.
    I read somewhere that you cannot fully load the engine until it is 45 degrees. that the optimum temperature would be 65 degrees and the engine should not be warmer than 80 degrees. What effect does the temperature have in terms of power performance?

    • @PowerRepublic
      @PowerRepublic  Před 4 lety +1

      Hey JS . spot on with the temps there mate. mostly the engines run at 55 the best. lower and the jetting seems hard to get perfect. as the temperature rises the intake charge goes up too, and the power goes down. this is common with all go kart engines, air cooled more so.

      Hey Ana. we will be covering the DD2 through our this year. is there anything in particular that you are having trouble with?

    Hello! Thank you for Dd2 videos.. After how many hours should maintenance be done? I've read 50 hours on the manual, is it real?

    • @PowerRepublic
      @PowerRepublic  Před 11 měsíci +1

      Hey, nah I would do the rod at 30 hours to be safe. And pistons every 10

  • @GNX157
    @GNX157 Před 5 měsíci +1

    So with it being direct drive, how do you start it with the electric starter? Do you just sit in the car, hit the starter button, and the kart starts moving forward while also trying to start?

    • @PowerRepublic
      @PowerRepublic  Před 4 měsíci

      yeah the engine has a 2 speed gearbox and a centrifugal clutch. so hit the key to start, push the accelerator to engage the clutch shoes and off ya go

      @@PowerRepublic oh okay ty, I did not realize it had a centrifugal clutch. This is a nice package.

    Love your videos!! Thank you! I have a Rotax DD2 and it feels like its restricted at about 5,000rpm and again at 7,000rpm. I hear rattling at these 2 points.... After that it pulls hard with no noises. When I watch videos I hear the rattling and was wondering if its normal and is there anything I can do about it. Thank you, Rob

      @@PowerRepublic if you watch the video I attached to this thread you can hear it at 17 seconds, 28 seconds, 41 seconds. When that sound comes in power feels restricted. This isn't me. Its just a video I found that I can hear..

      that sounds rich to me, maybe the change the needle and seat in the carb, adjust the floats and maybe even get a new spark plug 1 range hotter

    Hi which oil would you recommend ? Castrol or Motul. Thanks.

    • @PowerRepublic

      WE use Motul GP2T. It is awesome.

    • @KKarczmarczyk
      @KKarczmarczyk Před 4 lety

      Power Republic ok, GP2T is for fuel/oil mix, but which oil you use for the DD2 gearbox? Original one (XPS DD2) or something different?

    • @PowerRepublic
      @PowerRepublic  Před 4 lety

      XPS for the ease of use. Just buy the tube and sent it. I have used Maxima gearbox oil too, but the Rotax XPS is my preference.

      @@PowerRepublic Sweet thanks that is what I used to use and then a kart club told me that its bad for my engine I should move to castrol . also like the dye in motal , then I know not to mix my fuel twice lol.

    • @KKarczmarczyk
      @KKarczmarczyk Před 4 lety +1

      Power Republic thanks, yes, I know that 125ml tube is very useful and ease of use, but also much more expensive than 1L XPS bottle ;) so if I'm going to buy 1L, I asked if would be the best choice ;)
