The Engine issue was only a small amount of Mavericks that had machined loose debri manufacured between Febuary and April. There have been no Mavericks exploding as far a I know. The rear tail light issue has been fixed (twice.) Actuallt the fix create another problem and had to be corrected with abother fix on the BCM The Dash going out on the hybrid is caused by a incomplete over the air update. (Lol) if you disconnect then re connect the interior battery beneathe the rear pasaanger seat the dash illumination corrects itself. ( happened to me on my XLT Hybrid Maverick. This is the second year run of the Mav and these issue are poping up and Ford to their credit are reaponding and bring out fixes. I agree that Ford QA needs to again become number 1. Hopefully in time these issues become less and less. The entire automotive industry is seeing QA issue . When the king if QA Toyota is having issues on its Tacoma and Tundras as well it is not isolated to Ford only.
I've had my Maverick hybrid for a year now. I just take it to the dealer for the updates in the software and I've had no problems but get 40 miles per gallon.
