Unboxing The Strokes new box set The Singles - Volume 01

- The Strokes (@thestrokes) recently released a collection of 7" singles in a box set called The Singles (06.25.2001-09.06.2006) - Volume 01. It contains 10 singles, which I pull out and highlight. I also compare the single for 12:51 to an original single that I got as a promotional item with the purchase of Room on Fire on CD when that came out in 2003.

I really hope they do a Volume 2, this one is just perfection in my eyes.
"New York City Cops" was removed from the album *in the United States*, we could listen to it just fine in the rest of the world. "When It Started" was kinda cool too though.
You also got the better album cover. NYC Cops remained on the US vinyl version as it was too late, but after 9/11 they pulled it from the CD.

@@jlrolling the us and eu had different album covers on some of the albums as well, interesting stuff. like both. Specifically the is this it album.
pretty cool box ... i wasnt that interested in it ... specialy cause of its price ... and i dont listen too much of 7" vinyl ... im a little lazy to turn sides taht often ... eehehh
... but after watching youre vid .... now i want one too .... grrrrrr

Thanks for watching! I have a love/hate relationship with 7”. A pain in the butt yet fun to collect. I started listening and they sound great. Plus I’m getting a lot of exercise.

I didn’t. It’s so small I didn’t check. Someone forgot to hit spellcheck.

Just this box. I have all the albums, a 10” EP and another single. I might do a video at some point.
it only came out as vinyl is it? no cd?
As far as I’m aware this is a vinyl only release.

Don't know if it's of interest but even tho not on cd I listened to it on my amazon music app digitally
Was never a strokes fan at time of release but this collection warmed me to them sone nice songs on here worth listening to
