If there was ever a man who was born exactly when he was supposed to be born, and who ended up doing exactly what he was supposed to doing, at exactly the time it was supposed to be done, it was David Bowie. No one else, at any other time could have done what he did.
Wherever you are, David, thank you.

While many Bowie fans don't regard 80s as his best era, many would agree the Serious Moonlight to be his best tour. Cinematic in its best form.

I’m fan of Diamond Dogs Tour/Philly Dogs 1974 - for me the brightest and the most theatrical period of Bowie’s career. everything there were perfect - costumes, decorations for stage, the accompanying band and EXACTLY saxophone, which was so groovy as an filler for some songs, like “Panic in Detroit”, “Big Brother” and “Sweet Thing”
      The best thing

I've been a Bowie fan for a long time, and had the pleasure of meeting him. I'm not one of those fans who criticizes his 80's work as he already established himself to be a super, super super star. He had left his record company, got the long needed divorce & was finally making some money. He decided to do some commercial stuff & it paid off. For those who criticize that so be it but let me say he recorded some monster classics in the 80's. "Under Pressure", "Let's Dance" "China Girl". "Modern Love" the last three are from one album. "Loving The Alien", "Absolute Beginners" not to mention "Fashion", "Ashes To Ashes" he did a duet with Bing Cosby wish is a major classic and he starred in Labyrinth. AMEN!

I was there: Sept 11 & 12 1983; Bowie filmed the tour at the PNE Coliseum. He had played Vancouver on August 9th, opening BC Place Stadium to 60,000 fans and had so much fun in Vancouver that he returned a month later to make the tour film. The Coliseum is an arena, 16,000 seats, so they had to do a major job reducing the scale of the production to fit a much smaller venue for the filming, otherwise it was the identical show to the stadium tour. I saw pretty much every significant band of the 70s and early/mid 80s, and this night at the filming was the pinnacle of concert experiences that I remember to this day.

I played this on HBO and then on a VHS Tape so many times I had to go see him live in Tampa, 1987 Glass Spider, and in Deer Creek, IN 1990 W/Adrien Belew. They were all great shows, but Stevie Ray wanting too much money to tour and Earl Slick filling in, (Bowie the Businessman) 1983 was CLEARLY a performer in his prime!
