Lion brand no longer has this kit, but I looked it up and she is using a 6 bulky weight yarn, and a 20 mm hook

Heartwarming story. Additional instructions would be very helpful concerning yarn weight, stitch type, hook size etc would help those new to crochet follow along., It’s a freestyle which I’m comfortable with, but some defining pattern instructions for others would rock!

This represents mal de ojo in our culture. The Mexican people believe if you see some thing you like or admire you must touch it or you give the mal de ojo (they can get sick)... or evil eye and so this symbol guards against mal de ojo. FYI...
