For anyone struggling with the vocal processing on Follow The Leader, there's the context that it was originally supposed to use Hatsune Miku for the vocals (they wanted an uncanny feel, Miku's English voicebank sounds VERY uncanny out of the box), but Vocaloid 5 + Hatsune Miku v4x + English (you can't buy her English VB alone, you HAVE to buy it as an add-on to her Japanese voicebanks) is like 700 USD. So they tried to put vocal processing on Mica that sounded LIKE Miku.

I think you nailed it at the end - Art Angels is a better album (listening to them side by side, the production on MercWorld is good and a lot of fun but AA is on another level, it still sounds so crisp and fresh) but it's also Grimes' creative peak and she's unlikely to surpass it now, whereas Mag Bay are on such an upward trajectory that I feel this is only...the beginning...for them
One thing I will say - Mercurial World has some incredible transitions - Dawning into Secrets in particular is so smooth

The Deluxe and live versions for Mag Bay have been amazing as well. How songs flow into each other, tempo changes for Killshot, louder vocals for The Beginning prior to the piano riff, keytar solo for Secrets… I can’t get enough 😂

Good video! It's funny because I have the exact opposite experience with those albums as you, even though I discovered Art Angels much earlier, liked it immediately, and leaving a lasting impression on 15 year-old me. Mercurial World just had a shocking amount of replay value and I am still find myself listening to the album regularly even 2 years later, whereas I found Art Angels to have more duds and left it behind for years. My score would also be the exact opposite of yours: Mercurial World with a 9 and Art Angels at a 5. Something for 2 is top 5 Mag Bay and Follow the Leader is a great song, fight me.

Domino is such an artangels song !!!!! Its insane I swear grimes was the vocals at first it tripped me out
As someone who listened to both albums for the first time before watching this video, it's crazy to me that you dismissed Belly of the Beat as filler. I found it to be the most memorable song across either album. (Followed closely by the two songs neighboring it.)
