    Ginger love your impressionistic style you do beautiful painting. Subscribed! I really enjoyed your talk at the end about ignoring the "peanut gallery" and you are so right. I agree with everything your were saying about how painting is a skill that you learn, and you are right on about it being like learning a language. I can't wait to see more from you.

      Wonderful. You can't fail as you can just dry and repaint. Every time you paint you learn something. Sometimes you learn what not to do too. But picking up the brush and relaxing, unwinding from the day is a great thing to do.

    great class! the more i watch Ginger the more i understand impressionism. As a matter of fact I don't think i realized it till today how the colors and brush strokes actually make it look like something without the details. I was looking at a painting by Renoir La Grenuilleire and realized that when you do a close up on the dog, it doesn't look like a dog, and the same thing with some of the figures, only when looking at it from far. Ginger is really opening my eyes to such a wonderful world!.

    Ginger, you're an amazing artist. I've only recently have developed a passion for art, and after living 45 years on this earth...I've picked up a paint brush and began quite an interesting journey. I truly enjoy watching your videos however I have a question, or maybe comment. Your "beginner" videos...I'm wondering if any of your free tutorials include just general tips on the brush you use depending on what you're painting, the size, maybe a few tips here an there on brush strokes. You're tips on color, and how you layer them are very helpful. Maybe these videos are more for seasoned artists?

      The bannans are a good one for blending. I use the same brushes for all my paintings. the I have the group listed on our website as well as a video on all my art materials. Look at the video "can your brush to that?" or the one on blending. We have tons of stuff on how to use the brushes depending on what you are painting' czcams.com/video/GS6pXOHYSbk/video.html

    What a beautiful painting and great lesson!! From the bottom of my heart, I thank you very much. I learn a lot from you. Also I wonder will you teach oil painting as well? or do you have any utube recommendation channel for oil painting?

    • @gingercooklive
      @gingercooklive  Před 7 lety

      No I do not teach oil. I wish I did have someone to recommend but am not familiar with the artist who teach this. I do like the Russian oil painters.

    This is amazing! One thing I was thinking though, you were saying "This is so little you can't put anything in here, you can't" I was thinking that open area to the bottom left you could have added a snake or a cat or watering can or a pair of gardening gloves, anything like that to show size difference. Of course I love the outcome of the painting and I'm not saying at all that adding one of those would make it better, only that it WOULD show the size of the pots.

    • @gingercooklive
      @gingercooklive  Před 7 lety

      Yes you are right. This was just a quick lesson in how to paint pots of flowers. but it would be stunning larger with a more room top and bottom for a different composition.

    I was looking around at other painters and different techniques on CZcams and one lady said not to stay at the beginner level to long. She was saying how it's important to broaden your horizons and get out of your comfort zone. So, in your opinion, how long would you recommend a beginner to continue painting at the beginner level. I admit, I'm very new at painting but feel like I'm getting a pretty comfortable grasp on certain things but there are techniques I feel like I could spend close to a lifetime learning and still not really fully "be there". Just curious to hear your take on this topic. I love this video by the way.

    • @gingercooklive
      @gingercooklive  Před 7 lety

      The thing there are levels of beginning art. You can tell the difference between "painting party art" which is designed so drunk people can do it in their sleep, and beginning fine art. So as you see videos on youtube, sometimes the work beginner is in the title but it may be a lot more advanced than painting with a que tip. or sponge. I have an acrylic Academy which has one cookie ,to a box of cookie lessons We have over 300 videos from just starting out to advanced art. We suggest that you start with one and two cookie lessons (even if you have painted before) to get the layering and brush techniques down. understand how to mix colors ) then keep going with the harder lessons which by the way will not seem too hard. This is a proven plan and works because I offer personal art coaching to help you get better faster. Our senior rate is $21.95 a month for all of that plus 4 new lessons different from CZcams every month. You can just purchase a single week to try us for $10. This is the best painting program on the internet for Acrylic painting. www.gingerooklive.gallery

      Good idea, but we use the same colors for every video... Magenta is probably the only color that you would have trouble getting because you cannot make that color from red. Here is a link to the video that just shows the colors I use'
