- Blessed are the depressed who mourn and grieve,
For they create space to encounter comfort from another.
Blessed are the gentle and trusting, who are not grasping and clutching,
For God will personally guarantee their share as heaven comes to earth.
Blessed are those who ache for the world to be made right,
For them the government of God is a dream come true.
Blessed are those who give mercy,
For they will get it back when they need it most.
Blessed are those who have a clean window in their soul,
For they will perceive God when and where others don't.
Blessed are the bridge-builders in a war-torn world,
For they are God’s children working in the family business.
Blessed are those who are maligned and mistreated for the right reasons,
For the kingdom of heaven comes to earth amidst much persecution.
I trust this man. His heart is pure. He does not seek personal fame or fortune, he seeks bringing people closer to god. Blessings to all. ✝️😎
I feel the same. Bless ya brother
Me three!!!
What an impressive pastor! Such a thoughtful and inspiring sermon.
The heart of Christian theology expressed in one word is simply GRACE.
May all be blessed! 🤍
THANK YOU, for preaching the Kingdom of God and not just the Kingdom of Grace. The Kingdom of God IS THE GOOD NEWS! Great job pastor, and I am on with HaShem, hence I came to your beatitudes video just to see your approach on them. And yes, the experience of HaShem in mount Zion to those that can climb the mountain in His Name in high meditation, reflect the truth in absolute degree to what Jesus spoke on the beatitudes. And while you preach on them and also speak on the Kingdom of God, you sir, are doing a good job and will be told, "good job my faithful servant".
Brian Zahnd is an amazing teacher, he's humble and fun. I love watching his stuff and Peter Hiett's 🙂
This was timely for me. ✌️❤️
Amen! Love this!
thanks for this BZ. Great to revisit the Magna Carta of our faith. Always more to learn. I was illuminated with some of the 'blessing.' Others I clearly still am being called to "repent." Spending some time journalling about them. Have you come across Jonathan T. Pennington's treatment of them? He translates blessed as flourishing.
Augustine describes "the poor in Spirit" as those with a puffed-up ego. By the way, Eugene Petersen's translation, "The Message" which is my No. 1 translation; it speaks directly with the text in modern day-to-day words, and cuts no corners. I wish that more pastors/priests would preach from it, especially in those passages concerning the poor..
I made mistake regarding what I wrote about Augustine; he speaks against those with a "Puffed- up ego." Sorry for my error.
Early release? Is he referring to letting violent criminals get out of prison early? And when these violent criminals start victimizing more innocent people will Brian be shown Mercy for pushing for their early release?
Sounds like a good sermon except that it doesn’t give me Jesus. It doesn’t focus on my need for redemption and repentance. It’s a feel good kind of a message that does only half of the job.
Yeah I’m sure focusing on Jesus’s teaching and what he focused on isn’t good enough for some people.
What is wrong with you? How is a message about the need for righteousness/justice, the danger of self-righteousness, and the lavish grace of God for all men coming from the teachings of Jesus a "feel good" message?
