It was no longer a story about a dying teenager, with a dark sense of humor, a movie about death and the philosophy of end and forgiveness. It was just another, girl is going to die, boy and girl love each other movie. TBH, I don't even like the novel because of the romance but the characters, and the trailer butchered it.

I honestly think, fault in our stars is far better than Dil bechaara although, I haven't watched the either of the films, but have definitely read the book. I have seen Dil bechaaras trailer, and believe me, it wasn't up to the mark, they have changed the whole plot, and made the movie story less! So, in my opinion, people shouldn't have praised the movie just because SSR worked in it! He might be having other masterpieces, but this isn't the one that deserved the high ratings! People need to have the sense that this is only profiting the other persons worked in the film!

Yes giving a rating just because of audience pressure and during the critical time where everyone is sensitive about Shushant Singh Rajput, nepotism and outsiders is just not fair. Sonchiriya is actually very good. The evil showcased, the guilt Manoj and shushant carry, the fight among the group and their unity, the the bravery and sort of revenge Bhumi took from that son of a bi*ch father-in-law, the story showcases reality. I don't know about giving 10 rating to sonchiriya but giving 10 to dil bechara imo is purely due to pressure.

I know it's unrelated but I think bcoz of ssr's death a hype about the movie is created, I didn't get the goosebumps or got emotional while watching the trailer. I thought I was the only one who can understand things from karan's side. I mean, show me one interview he disrespected kangana or anyone . People roast him on face, and he takes it all, no complain. At the end of the day people, be it star kids or outsiders only talented with standout.
He is not bad I think. But he is more inclined towards the business of filmmaking than striving for content driven cinema. He doesn't really seem to experiment with his style or structure of his movies. He has two great films in Golmaal and Singham, both of which he still tries to use as a base for his movies.
If you rewatch the scene where Kashi goes to invite Mastani before Pinga, observe the range of emotions in Priyanka's performance. She is PHENOMENAL in that scene while Deepika seems like reading the dialogues off of a teleprompter.
Tbh that felt like Deepika throughout off of Sanjay Leela Bansali movies. Through the 3 movies the only thing that changed were her clothes and her accent.
Speaking of Siddharth Malhotra, his film Ittefaq with Akshaye Khanna and Sonakshi Sinha had brilliant performances by all. And it was a highly underrated film.

I'm glad that a sensible channel finally raised the Kangana-Gully Boy issue and chose to give the benefit of doubt to Krish and the rest of the Manikarnika cast. Gully Boy may not have deserved all the awards but it was a good movie....better than Manikarnika and Chhichhore IMO. It was praised so much after release that I had to watch it, inspite of not being a fan of Ranveer/Alia. So, suddenly trashing it just because of KR's personal grudges and the nepotism debate was very unfair. I'm also happy to know that I'm not the only one who thinks this way about Ayushmann. I like him and his movies but the truth is that he's getting stereotyped and we don't get to see his range as an actor.
Fortunately,I'm an average cinema lover who judges a movie by its entertainment quotient and doesn't bother with heavyweight philosophies like liberalism,nationalism etc. Similarly, I respect people who liked manikarnika over gully boy simply for the film it was and not because of who starred in them.

The problem is not so much their age then that she still looks like a school kid who shouldn't be playing such roles. Even Alia Bhatt. In any other industry, they will probably be restricted to doing school/college student roles. But Bollywood is just an amazing place to be in for them.
While nepotism is a real problem and needs to be tackled, some people act like anyone who has a rich background or any support does not deserve to even step in any job be it acting or politics or whatever which is absolutely ridiculous. Am I the only one who feels there is practically no "chemistry" between Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone? I loved Ram leela but only because it was an entertaining film overall. I would have loved the film with a different lead pair too. Even inBajirao, I felt they lacked that sort of connection. Their romance just didnt look convincing. But again, this is just my opinion. And I am already tired of Ayushman Khurana's movies.

We make average performances good, good becomes great, great becomes legendary and God forbid once in a blue moon something really legendary like Gangs of Wasseypur happens we hype it to the extent that filmmakers like Kashyap make statements like Wasseypur destroyed my life because now people only want Gangs of Wasseypur once again. ThAt's the problem. Same thing happened with Aayusmann. Ranveer and Deepika both average at the very best but people hype them as if they can defeat Robert De Niro and Meryl Streep in an acting duel. Seriously! That's the problem. Overexposure to garbage has lowered our tastes to Extremely low levels. That is the reason Satyajit Ray never wanted to make films in Bollywood. He sensed this. Assuming you have watched his films(Chakraborty) I can guarantee you if Pather Paanchali would have been made in Bollywood he would have never been able to make another good film again. Because the industry would make him the GREATEST thing since Jesus Christ walked on water. That's the problem. Unless people's tastes are elevated nothing will change. Bengalis also praised the hell out of Satyajit Ray but they didn't make him Jesus Christ that is the reason he made the APU Trilogy and went on to make more masterpieces like Jalsaghar, Charulatha, Pratidwandi z Areyer Din Ratri(not sure if I spelled that right), Nayak: The Hero etc. Well we can only be optimistic that this digital age will elevate atleast our generations taste to the extent that we don't celebrate mediocrity as MASTERPIECES. Let's hope for the best.
in Bajirao, I felt zero chemistry between them. I didnt feel that overwhelming ishqwala feeling that appears in Bansali movies. I didnt SEE that undying, eternal love. I only saw Kashibai being betrayed. I saw HER pain and struggle. Imagine if the genders were reversed. If Kashibai fell in love with another man, would it be hailed as "eternal love"

I agree with you in parts. And I'm glad you're doing this. Alternate voices/opinions are so imp. I esp love the Kashi/Priyanka Chopra part. Remember reading a friend's post at the time that said, "In a movie titled Bajirao Mastani, Kashibai stole the show". Also Siddharth Malhotra is not as bad as much as he's written off. I actually enjoy A Gentleman. One of my all time fav romantic movies of his is Hasee toh Phasee. Very unique story with many lovely moments in the film. If you haven't seen it, pls do.

Damn we are the same! During the early days of his career when no one recognized Aayushman Khurrana, I was actually a fan. His portrayal of characters seemed very relatable to me and i thought to myself this man is underrated. Finally when he achieved popularity and people started viewing him as a star, i started suffering from the aayushman fatigue and unpopular opinion but i've started to think he is overrated now.

Sonchiriya is actually very good. The evil showcased, the guilt Manoj and shushant carry, the fight among the group and their unity, the the bravery and sort of revenge Bhumi took from that son of a bi*ch father-in-law, the story showcases reality. If you rewatch the scene where Kashi goes to invite Mastani before Pinga, observe the range of emotions in Priyanka's performance. She is PHENOMENAL in that scene while Deepika seems like reading the dialogues off of a teleprompter.

Gully Boy may not have deserved all the awards but it was a good movie....better than Manikarnika and Chhichhore IMO. It was praised so much after release that I had to watch it, inspite of not being a fan of Ranveer/Alia. Am I the only one who feels there is practically no "chemistry" between Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone? I loved Ram leela but only because it was an entertaining film overall. I would have loved the film with a different lead pair too. Even inBajirao, I felt they lacked that sort of connection. Their romance just didnt look convincing. But again, this is just my opinion. And I am already tired of Ayushman Khurana's movies.
Look listen. We are so used to garbage in our film industry, so much garbage that even a mildly interesting performance is made the stuff of legend. We make average performances good, good becomes great, great becomes legendary and God forbid once in a blue moon something really legendary like Gangs of Wasseypur happens we hype it to the extent that filmmakers like Kashyap make statements like Wasseypur destroyed my life because now people only want Gangs of Wasseypur once again. ThAt's the problem. Same thing happened with Aayusmann. Ranveer and Deepika both average at the very best but people hype them as if they can defeat Robert De Niro and Meryl Streep in an acting duel. Seriously! That's the problem. Overexposure to garbage has lowered our tastes to Extremely low levels. That is the reason Satyajit Ray never wanted to make films in Bollywood. He sensed this. Assuming you have watched his films(Chakraborty) I can guarantee you if Pather Paanchali would have been made in Bollywood he would have never been able to make another good film again. Because the industry would make him the GREATEST thing since Jesus Christ walked on water. That's the problem. Unless people's tastes are elevated nothing will change. Bengalis also praised the hell out of Satyajit Ray but they didn't make him Jesus Christ that is the reason he made the APU Trilogy and went on to make more masterpieces like Jalsaghar, Charulatha, Pratidwandi z Areyer Din Ratri(not sure if I spelled that right), Nayak: The Hero etc. Well we can only be optimistic that this digital age will elevate atleast our generations taste to the extent that we don't celebrate mediocrity as MASTERPIECES. Let's hope for the best.
in Bajirao, I felt zero chemistry between them. I didnt feel that overwhelming ishqwala feeling that appears in Bansali movies. I didnt SEE that undying, eternal love. I only saw Kashibai being betrayed. I saw HER pain and struggle. Imagine if the genders were reversed. If Kashibai fell in love with another man, would it be hailed as "eternal love"
@@udraj914 Completely agree. the entire movie i could only think of kashibai. im usually a romantic when it comes to big tragic love stories, but i just couldnt see or believe in the supposed epic and eternal love they shared. all i could see was a man and a woman fall in love which betrayed the woman he was supposed to be loyal to. i cant help but think that a better choice for the couple with more chemistry might have made me atleast accept the lead couple even if i wouldnt support them.
and right? kashibai's morals and character would be DEMOLISHED if she even looked at another man. same with mastani. why is it ok only if its a man smh
Unpopular opinion: In the new generation, Siddharth Malhotra & Aditya Roy Kapur movies are better than most of the crappy box office hits. These 2 guys are criminally underrated!

I agree with you in parts. And I'm glad you're doing this. Alternate voices/opinions are so imp. I esp love the Kashi/Priyanka Chopra part. Remember reading a friend's post at the time that said, "In a movie titled Bajirao Mastani, Kashibai stole the show".
Also Siddharth Malhotra is not as bad as much as he's written off. I actually enjoy A Gentleman. One of my all time fav romantic movies of his is Hasee toh Phasee. Very unique story with many lovely moments in the film. If you haven't seen it, pls do.

Priyanka Chopra lived the role as Kashi Bai. Her Dialogues Are more appreciated than Bajirao and mastani. She killed everytime when she come on the screen. 😍😍❤

I was one of the earliest fan of Ayushman Khurana way before Andhadun and A15. But like you said, Ayushman fatigue is coming soon, maybe it even is already happening!
Damn we are the same! During the early days of his career when no one recognized Aayushman Khurrana, I was actually a fan. His portrayal of characters seemed very relatable to me and i thought to myself this man is underrated. Finally when he achieved popularity and people started viewing him as a star, i started suffering from the aayushman fatigue and unpopular opinion but i've started to think he is overrated now.
