I've always wanted a red 96 to 98 SN95 Cobra. For me they were just the right mix of styling and performance
I had 3 Sn95's. Last one was a 98 cobra convertible
love my SN95 cobra.
I just sold my 97 crystal white coupe black interior with staggered fr500 wheels. 89k miles and so clean. Miss it but I replaced it with a 2003 DSG cobra…. My dream ride
I actually sold those back then, and yes I knew they were special when they came off the trailer! To this day I have a guy I sold a 7 up fox convertible call me to thank me. I told him with 12 miles on it to put it in the garage and not drive it and he listened. He still has it to this day 25 years plus later.
I got one, you want it?
That green color is awesome! Great video!
I’ve owned 3 SN95s (1 New Edge) and 2 S197s. Can’t argue with the power coming straight from the factory with a Coyote but you also can’t deny the extreme potential of a 302 Windsor or first gen Modular that the SN95s had
The S197 is better in every form over the SN95 yet I would take the SN95 any day of the year
I was gonna say I like my sn95 so much I think I'll get him a friend... the s197 😂💯
Otherwise he'll get lonely
Great comparison review. I am a SN95 guy all day but I do respect that enthusiast still have all year of MUSTANGS.
The SN95 96-98 Cobra is about to skyrocket in value, they got the Ferrari sound, and they look better as the years go by!
I’ve owned two fox body’s, a S197 GT CS a S197 13 Boss 302, S550 GT and I still love my 2000 GT Convertible the best out of all of them, it’s old school feeling, cable throttle, hydraulic steering can’t be beat!
do the 05-09 cars have a cable throttle?
What he said about which one you like is spot on; it really comes down to which car you drove fast first. True Mustang enthusiasts will appreciate all of them. My first Mustang was a 93 5.0 notchback red with 5 speed. I loved that car, but I always wanted a Cobra so when it was hit for the second time by some moron, I traded it in on a Crytal white 95 Cobra. Then I went to a 96 laser red Cobra, then a 97 black convertible Cobra and now I have 2 Mystic Cobras that I will never sell. I think the S197s are awesome and they're obviously much faster, but they just don't make my heart go pitter pat like when I drive mine and hear that engine roaring. All the best to the S197 fans, they're awesome cars, but my favorite is the SN 95s. Great video.
I’d take the SN95 anyday. :)
I love my 96 Sn95 cobra. My wife actually drives it daily to work. Trying to keep the mileage down as much as possible thou it only has 17k.
These cars are meant to be driven. 195k miles on mine. It sounds like your wife needs her own mustang if you want to keep yours a museum piece. But I will tell you, I’ve seen 94 cobra pace cars so mint, they were still in the plastic as delivered, living their entire lives in a humidity free bubble, and going for less than it’s original MSRP at auction when adjusted for inflation.
@@UmmYeahOk the Cobra is hers and she daily it's pending weather 95 and 96 don't have the same engine the modular V8's I've seen with 400k on them they run. This was my dream car in high school and we're going to enjoy it and drive it I honestly don't care about values dropping or going up for me I just love it and all my mustangs.
@@stephencarbajal5657 if it’s her car then let her have fun with it. The 5.0s will run forever because you’re getting the same engine Ford’s used since the 60s. The 3.8 on the other hand was new tech and would blow head gaskets. Every car has it’s own faults, and even the 4.6 isn’t immune. 400k miles without a rebuild? Even if true, what are the odds that either of you will see that? My mustang rolled 100k in 2001. It’s 2022, and I still haven’t made it to 200k. Currently at 195k. I don’t drive it as much as I did in the 90s-00s, so it may not even reach 200k next year. But still, it’s been well over 20 years and I haven’t put 100k on it, so I don’t think she will in the first her decade of ownership.
What's not to love about the 94-98? It's got muffin top, it's the only Mustang with fat rolls and those add significant character to the body. I've had a few of them and always missed them when I sold them.
Love the sn95. But man they getting pricey for kinda shit put together car
@@danielservin Every mustang generation will eventually appreciate in price (except mustang 2). Mine doubled in value since I’ve bought it.
@@angelgjr1999💯💯
Great video! I appreciate the honest look at both styles!!
Have the 94 GT Convertible, all original and still looks new with 117,000 miles. Kinda wish I got the Cobra but the price difference was my descion back then, now that price difference is peanuts.
Sn95’s all day!!!! Love my 96 cobra 7yrs owning it along with 3 other cars and still love my 96 cobra the most
Thanks Bill! One of my bucket list cars is a road course prepped SN95 with a Coyote/T56 swap.
Right on!
You're making me want to bring my 1995 GT out of the garage and start the girl up after years of sitting. I have 3.73 gears, long tube headers, Flowmaster with no cats, aluminum driveshaft and flywheel, Cobra intake, 24 pound injectors and a 77 MM throttle body, pulleys and I OMG! I miss that sound so bad, presently driving a boring Buick SUV, sacrilege I know. God, these videos are pure torture!
Bring it out
Why sitting for so long? These cars need to be driven.
@@UmmYeahOk I can only imagine what she will be like after years of not starting her, honestly she was my teenage queen, then father time came along, I can't sit in those seats without major pain, I sold my corvette and boat because of this, I will not sell my first love. She got beat all the time by other cars, but it was still fun! I remember a time I raced a Turbo Pontiac Trans Am, only in white they come, that thing whipped me hard, the dad and son went to a gas station and we had nasty hot dogs and coke's and laughed for what seems forever. The memories is why I won't sell my garage queen! She is still my goddess! 😍 Love My SN95
@@jafo4u508 I too have kept my SN95 since I was 16. I may not daily drive it any more, but I still drive it. 195k miles on it so far. I’ve driven a 97 trans am, but different beast, not as nice IMO.
Change all the fluids (oil, coolant, gas). Check all the rubber (tires, bushing, hoses, belts, etc). Replace the battery. Get that car on the road!
How old/decrepit are you? Mustang shouldn’t be too difficult to get in and out of. Maybe different seats? Try v6 cloth, or something else. Personal maintenance you can outsource if that’s the real reason. Couldn’t be more than a few hundred unless you’re replacing tires, then ouch!
@@UmmYeahOk 😆 🤣 😂 I'm 50 but I fell in a training accident from a rappelling tower in school. I drive a glorified minivan now, you made me laugh really hard, Thank You!
03 & 04 mach 1's are my favorite from that era, but would love to own a 2010 to 2014!!!
A lot of people are sleeping on them.
I own a 2013 Mustang GT with the "Coyote" motor and love it.... but a part of me will always love the 1996-1998 SN95s, especially the Cobra hardtops. If I ever run across a nice one, I'm gonna buy and throw a procharger on it.
Still own my 94 Cobra I bought brand new, I do own a 2019 performance pack one now but there’s something about my Cobra when I turn that key ❤️
It's not the most powerful anymore, but God darn if she isn't a time machine to the past!
everything is better on s197, but pushroad sound - the beauty of sound 😎
Awesome video
Still miss my 04 GT - my 15 GT is a way better car in every way - but dang that Dark Shadow Grey w/ the 2V screaming though Borla Stingers 🤤
The 4.6 sounds better imo. The 5.0 sounds raspy. The 4.6 is more throaty.
@@angelgjr1999 Totally agree, the 4.6 was a screamer!
Ive owned 2 2012 S197 one was an auto and my current is a 6 Speed.. love them both.. also have a 1993 2.3 Fox, not a 5.0 but I love my little fox.. thinking about getting myself a SN95, something about that body style 😍 looking like an outdated S550😊
I have a full bolt on 4.0 07 might trade for a 1994 stock sve cobra need help what should I do
It would be awesome to compare a manual 2011 Mustang GT to a 2003 or 2004 manual Mach 1.
I think the Bruce Jenner was foreshadowing....
Love my 95 gt🙂
s197 Mafia for life 😁
The 4.0L sucks because it's a "truck motor"? Newsflash, some of the greatest Mustangs ever borrowed their engines from trucks. 4.0L's make more power than previous generation's V8's, get better MPG's, and handle better thanks to the S197 chassis and light weight motor. Probably the most undervalued Mustang out there imho.
That's a crock sayinthe 5.0 was faster than the 4.6 my 4.6 i27 years old and runs like the day I bought it 5.0 would be at snails pace after 27 years
Who’s Bruce Jenner?
😅
the s95 was just never a good looking body style in my opinion.. as far as the s97 goes the earlyier ones is where ford nailed the look..
Slap a Cobra bumper on a 00-04 and it looks a lot better
If i ever saw an SN95 on the road, it was a convertible and being driven by a woman.
Was it me? 😉
Nothing wrong with that 😅
