As someone who struggles to keep his videos short, I’m amazed that you just did a whole engine tear down in a 15 min video.
LOL thank you!
谢谢!
This is the MOST comprehensive video on a k series teardown I have found
This video was super beginner friendly. I appreciate the small detailed explanations! 🙏💯
Happy to hear that! 🙌
I own a 2008 honda accord coupe, 4 cylinder and frankly I love it and plan on owning it for the rest of my life. This content is literally gold to me. Thank you so much Milan for providing this kind of in depth material! Not just for Honda either but all of your other builds. You rock, thank you sir!!
Thanks Trevor! I appreciate that more than you know ☺️ Be sure to come back and see what kind of progress we make in the coming year! I'm hoping to get this engine ready to be swapped for spring time 🤞
Same asf
I just disassembled mine last night , first time ever I’m here to gain some knowledge. Thank you for everything from Australia
how did you go?
I’ll bet $100 those plastic pieces are from an oil fill cap that broke off and fell in. Billet caps are awesome.
That's something I'll need to get!
no its not from oil cap
Probably an old Time-cert that broke off into the oil pan when someone stripped the oil drain plug.
Exactly. It's from an oil cap that broke, seen that happen and they really look like oil cap threads
Billet caps breh yasssss bling bling 😂😂😂😂
I'm a novice at this, but this video made it look so simple and gave me confidence to do something I have never done but wanted to do. I have a k24z3 and my goal is to swap it in a 88cr. Thx for some great videos!
Please upload more vids about the k24 swap... your videos are one of the best ones out there. I got encouraged to do the swap on my 09 tsx after watching your video.
Oh and I subbed your channel too.
They're coming brother 👊
But this k24z3 block is out of an acura tsx right? It's not the same as the r40 in the accord correct?
Nice video! I think those plastic pieces are from the oil cap, looks like the threaded part. No idea how those pieces would get through the oil drain back holes in the head though. Also, that engine really doesn't look bad inside at all in my opinion. No it wasn't spotless, but I have seen way more engines that look way worse than that than engines that look that good or better.
Yep, honda oil caps get super brittle in the cold
Glad i'm not the only one who bags all the bolts, nuts, plugs, small parts and then signs the bags with specifics!
Such a good practice.
I clicked on this video because I thought it looked interesting, and I was intrigued that the K24 had an open deck. But this video is superb, straight to the point, clear, outlined brilliantly. It's excellent. I hope Honda forums have this sticked at the top of their appropriate forums.
Thanks Anthony! I appreciate it :)
Legend !! As a DIYer these videos really help I can appreciate the detail and effort into making these videos.
Awesome video dude!!
Simple, clear, no fluff.
Keep up the great work!!
I just randomly ran across your Channel and being an 80s baby obsessed with Hondas and Acuras and imports let me just say I appreciate the fact that your channel is straight to the point, you sound very knowledgeable, there's no 12 minute intros of random guys walking around bullshitting and you are very articulate. With that being said thank you!
Thanks man! I appreciate it 👍
When removing head studs you should remove them in reverse order of installing. It's alloy head and it can twist if you don't do it in order
expert20valvehlx like in the alpha twin spark😉
@@adamy4162 haha no, ts head have more holes for more sparks and they are not pron to twist as a normaln bead but again i do it like that just in case
Love your videos bro ! They are super easy to watch . Thanks for putting in all the hard work and posting !
very cool. i've got an 08 Accord and have been trying to DIY as many repairs/maintenance tasks as possible. this video and your previous one explaining the differences between the K series engines both helped me understand a lot :)
Great video man well spoken clear and factual! No waffle or bs just a perfect video
Thanks for bringing us yet another vibe 🥂 enjoyed
Wow very impressive video! Thank you very much. I can’t wait to see your final build.
Man this is awesome you are confidence inspiring I will watch all of this build series today
I love you. Honda Gang
Amazing breakdown !! Thanks you
cant wait to see how this build turns out!
I appreciate your thorough explanations throughout the teardown
Thanks Eric! I'm happy to hear that
Hi Milan, I've taken apart many Chevrolet small block V8 engines from 265 cu in in the 1955 Chevrolet to 283 and 327's. Every one, even those well taken care of always had sludge everywhere. In spite of the tiny bit of sludge you found I was amazed to see how clean that engine was inside. A tribute to modern day detergent oils. Good luck with this project. Tom U.S.A.
Hey Tom. If you think this engine here is clean, boy do I have good new for you!! When I did the timing chain on my Honda, the engine was SOOOO much cleaner with literally ZERO sludge. I can only imagine how bad the old chevy small blocks were!
Awesome video well documented, short and to the point
Thanks for the list for everything
Amazing! You did very good job amigo! Keep it up.like to see everything put it back together.
Great video, very informative.
Very informative and clean
great video and quality thanks man!
Nice to see videos are back!
Thanks Thomas! ☺️
Incredible breakdown!
Thank you!
Excellent tutorial. The man knows his stuff. And very strong too. I saw you lift that block! Lol.
Good job brother.
Awesome detailed explanation bro
What a professional video! You had my attention the whole time. You are 5 Star Restaurant good, just WOW.
Loved the way you explained everything and how you do your work that's a really good way to bag and tag them helps you remember where everything goes thanks for the content
Glad it was helpful!
By far the best teacher on CZcams no cap
Great video!
Im starting a reverse Frankenstein and this is the teardown vid that Im gonna use, Thank You!!!!
Great video. You’re incredibly knowledgeable on this stuff. Subscribed!
Welcome aboard! Thanks Scott 👊
Very detailed guide. Keep up the awesome job.
Thank you Patrick! I appreciate it 🙌
I read just a few comments and I agree with everybody your videos are awesome 👍 keep up the good work bud. I'm going to be doing a k24 swap on my cb7 Accord and your videos are very helpful and thorough! 👌
Any updates?... I'd love to follow your build
@@cruzc9901 just picked up rear disc brakes from junk yard and cleaned them up,painted them.👍
I might try to do a CZcams channel, ill lyk👌
@@chriscurry780 sounds good. Looking forward to it.
Great video. Looking forward to the build.
Thank you! ❤️
@@milanmastracci Are you planning on doing an in depth video of you pulling your stock motor? Your videos are very detailed and informative. 👍🏼
Cool teardown!!
Straight to the point. Learned soo much in this video. Thanks.
Thanks Karl! Happy to hear that 👊
Great work Milan 👍👍
Thank you thank you 🙌🙌
我想看一期有關與k 24Z 1系列的頻謝謝!
Thank you for this video!!!!
Bag it and tag it. Lol
Good content. Simple and to the point.
Nicely done!
Thanks Will!
What incredible engineering
so i searched on google on bing and multiple different forums. your the only one to tell me the difference between a 2008 tsx and a 2009 tsx. and for that im gonna subb to u. when it came to this question i had it took nearly 30 mins of searching to find out the damn name of the engine of a 2009 tsx.
k24z3 for 2009- whatever i dont care
k24a2 2004-2008
and u even showed the block and how it attaches differently then the k24a2.
thanks alot i cant believe its so difficult to find this simple info on any search engine.
Great video you are very detailed 👌
Great job 🤘🏻
loved this man! make more tutorials!!
Good one. Well explained
Thank you 🙂
Great video, very detailed process.
Your video on breakdown is awesome Milan! It helped narrow down my huge oil leak on 05 TSX. Don’t know if leak is from crankshaft seal or timing chain cover 😢 but vid helped see what it could be. I’m a simple wrencher for brakes and simple stuff. Only wish you my engine was out to make it look as easy in vid 😂. Greeting from Cali San Diego
Like your videos bro.lucky to stumble upon your channel since i drove 2006 honda crv with k20a on it. hope to do more on mine later. with your tutorial guide.
Your videos is owsem!!! keep going!!
Thank you!!
I was cringing how u were using channel locks to pull those cam caps !!!!
What tool would you recommend?
@@milanmastracci tap them with a rubber hammer or a dead blow .or lift up on the cam works too
I use channel locks with an old inner tube over the teeth to remove cam caps all the time. Dead blow hammers can be problem too because of the potential for bearing damage if you use too much force.
@@milanmastracci i use the bolts
Mitchell Savage I use Vise grips!😜
YOOOO HOLY HELL, CANNOT WAIT FOR THIS. IT"S FINALLY GOIN DOWN
Ahah I'm happy to hear that Ahmad! The accord is finally going to make decent power lol
Super useful video
I don't even own a k-series car but found this fascinating and interesting. You should turn this into a series and teardown all the iconic motors
Great video, it make me wanna get k24a2 and work on my own, Thanks
DO IT!!!
Amazing guide video.. thank you.
Thank you! 👊
Tremendously fabulous fantabules excellent crystal clear cut sharp with pin point accuracy instructions explained here 10000 stars to the subscriber
Hey milan whats up with the rest of the k24z3 build with the dual vtech head were waiting for more content bro.
He’s right you don’t need high end tools to do this. I literally lifted the engine out of the car by throwing a rope over the rafters of a barn and pulled then took it apart in the floor like he did.
Thank you for this video! I got a free Honda from family and it has really bad blow by! This video has helped me a long the way with my rebuild. I am not a mechanic just a guy trying to save some money 😅
Glad it helped Joshua! Good luck with the rebuild
Damn man you explained this perfect as someone can for a 15min vid😂🔥🔥🔥🔥i just got a K24Z7 trying to rebuild myself.
Awesome video bro
Thanks Giovanny!
This vid might give me the motivation to tear my k20a3 apart and check it out
Great video
Best teardown video
Thank you my friend!
Great project
Thank you! Should be fun 👍
what a great video. ggs bro
thanks again for some great detailed videos! They really are great and very helpful to me. I have the K24z3 engine and am also looking to increase the horsepower as well. Did you finish this series and I just can't find the final video? Or did you run into some problems with the build? Would love to see the final build and hear what HP you got out of it. - Thanks!
I'm a heavy equipment tech and I never understood what the big deal is with a Honda crank pulley bolt . On dozers, front loaders and cranes 75 percent of the machines bolts are as hard or harder than a Honda crank bolt, way harder . I use a snap on or ir titanium impact and it does the trick for me . I've ran into some really stubborn bolts on big Cummins and Cat engines and if the impacts won't get it I use a chain wrench to anchor the pulley and a long 1/2 or in some cases 3/4 inch ratchet for the bolt . Depending on what it is I'll use a 3/4 inch impact which I know nobody is going to use on a Honda .
Thanks for sharing! On a large engine, I can see why a 3/4" impact might be needed, but I think these Honda bolts are on too tight.
I've seen little magnetic dishes, military lunch trays, cardboard with holes, solo cups, and everything else..."bag and tag" beats them all and I'll be using that in the future for any disassembly.
Great Video....
Thanks!
I find it kinda hilarious how similar these are to the N14B16 and N18B16. Would be kinda neat seeing a similar video series on their takedown and differences!
wow, great video. Respect from someone struggle with ikea assembly, LOL
Great vid…
good job
Great video...
Thank you!
Aaaand the moment we're so looking forward too. What to do to make that Cam solenoid operate the vtec exhaust camshaft from a k24Z body to a k24A manifold. Made me subscribe.
quick and well done!,
looks like an oil cap broke and fell in the engine
Indeed!!!
good video brother!!!!!1
Thanks Edward 👊
Wow great channel
Thank you!
Can wait to see my motor (k24z3) with that power. If it does i will do the same
It'll be fun!
Rubber bands work well for holding together the VTec rockers also
Looks like someone liked to get their oil changes at Jiffy Lube, the plastic pieces in the oil pan are most likely timing chain tension pieces or the oil pump chain.
Excellent video I cannot believe with all them subscribers you have so little views.. something's not making sense there? 🤷 Could not have said it better myself.. because I have no clue on how to do this but I learned a lot!! 👍

@@milanmastracci I do bud I do... When I see a channel like yours I do... You always have great information!! 👏👏👏👏👏
You need to upload more often dude.
I’m new to this car stuff please post a video of you putting it all back together PLEASE 😩😩
They make a weighted socket for taking the crank bolt out. Has worked for me every time.
Good video dude, kept me interested and kept me watching. Subbed.
Please get an engine stand tho. They’re inexpensive and it looks and makes working on it much more professional.
Also looks a bit sketchy with that prybar on the head removal.
What head will you be using?
Hey Tim. Thank you very much, I'm glad you enjoyed it! Yes I will be using an engine stand for the build, but for the disassembly, I wanted to show how it can be done without the expensive tools. As for the head, I will be using one from an Acura TSX. I'll get more into it later :)
Well done man great video. Very detailed. Honestly these motors are a lot more work than my ej25 out of my Subaru lol. Do u happen know what the difference between the k24a and k24z3 and k24w1 motors ? Do they use the exact same block but different head ?
