I'll be splitting my TE20 soon to replace the clutch and I'm going to copy your design. I have wheels off of an old floor jack that should work nicely in place of the ball bearings. Thanks for the good information.

That's a pretty fancy and functional stand. When I split my TO35, I used one of those harbor freight 4-wheel dollies, piled wood blocks on top, to support the back half of the engine split at the clutch while the front of the engine was on the tractor wheels (with those angle chock blocks under swept arms you showed). The dollies are rated at 1000lbs and half the weight was on the tractor front wheels so no problems. Then the back of the tractor was on jack stands and I used an a-frame chain-fall lift to remove the transmission away from the rear end. Stripped and rebuilt the trans (locked up due to water through the shifter boots). I should have made a little track for the dolly but I could still roll it into place ok on the cement floor. No welder at the time to make a better cart though I enviously marveled at what you had in a few older videos. Sharing if someone is in the same boat as me someday, a $15 dolly can get the job done.

    Nice Splitting Trolley Lance.
Necessity is the mother of invention.
Started as an 18 year old at a DB dealer splitting mostly 885's & 990's on site. They were a heavy dual clutch, the rails weighed a ton & the cabs were a pain. Always check your new drive and pto plate fit their shafts before assembling the clutch.
    Cheers,
    Paul.

I did 8 years with DB, I have the hydraulic valve tool still and the full clutch setting set up I got of a bloke a while back. I might find one worth doing up one day.

G'day, Lance, that is a great stand, and some angle iron for a rail system would be ok if a nice cement floor wasn't around. A helluva lot better than dishing our 900 to 1400.00 bucks for a set up. Great job, sir!

Yes the bought ones are quite expensive and if it not your living it is hard to justify.
