It's 17°F in Eastern Oregon which is about -8 for you Celsius folks. Enjoyed the stew, Lance.

G Day Dave, Minus 8 deg c Im not sure I would feel like playing with tractors if it is that cold. I would be near the fire with a rum, lol.

Splitting stands were interesting. I just use vehicle jack stands and an adapter for under the sump. Thanks for the video. Need to put your clock where you can get to it to replace the batteries. lol

G day Mal, I have done the same but I have a few bigger jobs coming up and as a one man band I thought I would make life easier. No need for the clock as I dont pay myself overtime, lol.

That splitting stand it really nice! I have a Steiner catalog but I never noticed if that was in there. The cost of shipping is ridiculous. I don't understand why the Australian bureaucracy insists on 4 times the stated rating for which it was designed. I made a high tech way to split my Fergie, a piece of log cut 12" X 12" with a V notch the height of the belly of the tractor. Since I am doing a complete restore, taking everything apart, it worked ok. If I were doing clutch changes or working on a volume of tractors that rig would be a huge time saver and make things much easier. If I decide to do more tractors I think I would get one and actually Steiner is close enough I could go get it. I guess you have to decide how much aggravation /convenience vs money is worth. With the amount of tractors you work on I think you still come out good in the long run. All the best from WI

I think the stand is on the Steiner web site but it is a new product for them I think so it may be in the 2019 Catalog

Hi Lance, splitting stands look good. Thanks for the look at the gantry, I did get a couple of ideas from it and from your comments. thanks.

Darn the luck, I'd have been your apprentice and learn from you firsthand... As it were, I'm in Texas.
Thanks for showing your stands and track. It really gave me some reference as to the dimensions and the metal sizes. Time to order my mats and get a few made up using my favorite process, TIG.
PTO problems, I have to pull the fork and TIG some new metal onto the selector fork or the bushing... Hard to recall since it's been a while since I took a look.
    I appreciate your work 👍🏼👍🏼

Good fun Lance. Camera fella sounds like he's gonna lose some trade. Think about this... In uk, Amazon can deliver a purchase within 2hr with 'Prime'.
Ordered my parents 50th Anniv gift last night, will be at their door today. That's where service is at.
In Aus, we're far behind mate but it's gods country. All good 😊

I got a homemade one, made from an I beam around 5 or 6 feet long with a little troly with sum sort of flat side puley wheels on it. I think the main disadvantage is you need a right shaped jack for it as it doesent have one fixed on, and it wouldn't be sturdy enough with an un square bottomed jack.

My first ones were home made and very useful for sure. It is only now as I get older I can afford a few bought things but they sure are nice to use.

All good content you have a much lighter wallet by the sounds, if the Mrs asks just tell her "oh that old thing I've had that for ages" works for them apparently LOL
