    Cyprus can be a nightmare for landlords as there is no serious tenant eviction processes for non payments of rent.

      I think it’s actually very easy.
      Easier than other countries.
      Such as Spain.
      In Cyprus when the Tenant constantly omits to pay the rent; the rent is in arrear for more than 21 days from the time the notice was given; the Tenant fails to pay the amount due within 14 days from the service of the claim.

      Try to take them to court ? It will take around 1-2 years to evict a difficult tenant

      If Cyprus was so lucrative, many big player landlords from the uk would be in Cyprus purchase whole blocks of flats, this is not the case. The only people buying are those who want to wash their money (let’s be honest)
      Cyprus is great for holidays or retirement.

    I would actually love to live off grid in nature, as long as I can have AC for those Cyprus summers 😄.
    I've been looking into agricultural land and looks like you can build on a percentage of the lot, but not sure of all the specifics. Will continue to research more when we are in CY.
    Thanks for the videos Rico :)

      Hey Audrey, thanks for your comment. Yeah, I think an AC is a necessity here. I recently saw a family living Offgrid as well, and they had solar panels providing electricity for their whole home, including A/Cs in every room. That was fascinating!

    Thanks for great the video Rico. Can I ask you what the building permit process is like. In the UK it’s total nightmare and getting worse. You can follow all the planning policies, prepare £10’s of thousands in planning reports, consultants and architects fees, do meetings with local resident groups, even be told you will get planning permission, then 6+ months later be told that because of some small surprise ‘issue’ it will be refused, and you have to basically start all over again. Larger developments of 10+ houses can take years to get permission. So, what is the system like in Cyprus, hose reliable and how long does it take? Maybe do a video? Thanks.

    • @Rico
      @Rico  Před rokem

      Hi, thanks for your comment. As Cyprus used to be British, the exact legal work is actually quite similar. The process typically involves submitting detailed plans to the local authority, and approval can take from a few weeks to a few months. But it's generally quicker and smoother than in many other European countries from my experience. Noted down the video idea, thank you!

      @@Rico Thank you. The key is predictability in the system, which has just stopped in the UK, it's a just a total mess. Thinking of following you out there and self-building or building some houses. Thanks again.

    Does it give me Non dom status as an EU buying land? can it help me getting tax residency?

    • @Rico
      @Rico  Před rokem

      Hey, you can apply for the Nom dom separately when you move to Cyprus. It's not linked to buying land. I have a separate video about the Nom dom status, you can watch that or contact me via the video description.

      Hey! The house is currently being built in a zone with 10% construction area. The Natura zone is in front and below his house.

      Did he build the house before 2017? From what I know is that the 10% construction area rule also known as Γ3 in terms of zoning, 99.99% of the time doesn't apply anymore unfortunately, something that most people are not aware off or have wrong hopes when buying :)
