  • Finding a jet outboard for my Saturn Kaboat that is under 100lbs is very difficult. I found this 1973 Evinrude on Craigslist in a barn in northern CT for a great price. The seller claimed that he bought it new and it was never in the water. The only catch is that mice had made a nest under the cowling. The extent of the mouse urine damage is unknown. I hope I get it running!

    Sweet find Mike!!
I am very interested in seeing if this will work on the Kaboat. I think that will be a lot of stress on the transom. You might consider combining the transom “lift” with an “H” frame to distribute that load….it would be very easy to make out of lumber…a 2x6 (trimmed to 5”)across the top of the transom between two 2x4s on the pontoons.
    Ben.

I tried it on the Kaboat and I couldn't get it to plane, it would cavitate when I gave it full throttle. I put the same transom riser on a 10' zodiac type boat and it planed beautifully. I still need to experiment with it on the Kaboat. Check out my other videos to see it out o the water!

Make sure you run that in a barrel of water you don't want to blow out the water pump
