I would love it if they brought in the Tunnelers from the Lonesome Road DLC. If you remember, Ulysses said that the Tunnelers had begun tunneling outside of The Divide...heading towards the Mojave Wasteland.
The controversy IS founded. All the lore breaks and inconsistencies happening in the show is the exact same thing happening with the starwars acolyte show. Todd howard explaining the fall of shady sands was him scrambling fix a simple mistake that wouldnt have been made if someone bothered to do a little bit of research. Same with the pre war jet in fallout 4

The second season lost some quality. If we wish for a good fallout season, we must let them cook at their pace. A rushed product is like rolling a dice... It can go great or it can go very badly. But when in competent hands, a production that takes all the time needed will never disappoint.

I already posted this as a comment, but if the show can’t canonise and ending, can it make anything “canon”? If the show itself is making its own assumptions and endings then how can we say that it’s part of the actual canon now?

At this point, the show is dancing on a bottomless pit: the best solution would be canonizing Yes Man's ending, because Yes Man himself said that he found in the Lucky 38's main frame some modules and sub-routines to make himself more affirmative, and his voice also became cooler when saying it.
Also, he says that he'd go off-line for a while, and his ending pretty much leads to a Vegas Civil War.
So, if the showrunners are smart, they can use this as:
- Why Vegas is destroyed
- The Sub-routines for become assertive been Mr. House's brain scans overriding Yes Man, and needing time to formalize/be 100% operative
- The NCR retreating/going rogue after Shady Sands been nuked, thus abbandoning Vegas to itself
- How House will/may be involved in the plot of S2 (Activating him again? Destroy him?)
- The whole "let go, to begin again" theme of Mew Vegas
@@jetpilledmyron2056 NCR which at the point of Falllout 2 story is not just a faction but the actual nation with population of almost 1 milliom people going rogue after just one of their cities been nuked. Yeeeah that make perfect sense. It's not just like showrunners and Bethesda are wanna wiped out all established lore from previous games by pretty much destroying all factions include New Vegas which also somehow now destroyed.
I would rather they take their time and do it well, rather than rush it. One of the great things about Season 1 was the tightness and internal consistency of the writing and plot development.

It was actually high quality writing without any agenda overtaking the story line. Which puts it far above a lot of the competition. It's has the potential to reach Stranger Things in it's popularity.
I hope Hank finds Mr. Deathclaw and Mrs. Deathclaw when he walks through a certain Quarry.

Most new shows or movies these days are lucky to get one well written character. This show has at least three. Narrative writing is everything.
I'm more interested in know what going to happen with some minors characters, than the actual main trio. And it's not that I hate them, is that I found the others more interesting.
I think they should have made the BOS dude a bit better, there was some good stuff there but for some reason they have to make him overly incompetent and its strange given how long he has been in training. The actor however seems to deliver very well.

@@1Lovew1zardz yeah except that we see him being taken in to the BOS from when he is a small child, makes no sense to make him that goofy or bad at most things, he is supposed to be a hardened combat ready squire that has done more or less nothing but train his entire life. In the games we sometimes see people get in when they are adults and that is quite different. Also I find it so strange that a guy like him would even question his loyalty to the cult since he should have been brainwashed from childhood by the BOS. It just seems too cheap or lazy or whatever and I find it a pity cause I think the actor delivers a great performance and I find it sort of like wasting his talent.
The show had tons of good side characters.
Just saying, I want some reference to a talkative Brotherhood Knight in some unique gear going around with an eyebot. Great chance to make such a fan favorite fan character canon in some regard.

I'm very curious about the line Cooper makes about where his wife and child are. This implies that he knows that they both survived the blast or it's meant to imply that Hank has led him to believe that they survived.
We saw Cooper with his daughter as the bombs were falling. This really makes me wonder how they got separated.
Or wants to know where they're buried.

I remember back when a TV show always had 20-25 episode. Seasons started in the fall and ended the end of spring, then summer reruns.
Now you get 6-10 episodes, and it's 2 years before you see the next one. Then they wonder why they don't succeed. It's not rocket science.
Quality over quantity 🤷♂️
Agreed I would add that since the episode count /run time has been so slashed you ether end up with a padded movie script or a story lacking any heavy plot points
Most times those shows had filler for a reason
Apples and oranges. 99% of those shows had all stand alone episodes with at most a few two part episodes. Tons of filler episodes and at least one "clip show" every year. Today's short order runs tend to be heavily serialized.

I don't know any episode of cheers, friends, taxi, Stargate, the next generation star trek, the old star trek, CSI, Bones, or any other television show from back then that I ever thought, "gee, we coulda done without this episode" or " Gosh this episode was way too long".

mr house is my favorite character from anything ever and im a bit worried they're going to make him a generic corpo badguy. one of the reasons i like his character so much was because he was nuanced, he had big ambitions and wanted a future for humanity but was also very self-interested and stepped on a lot of people to get what he wanted. based on what i saw of mr house in the vault tec meeting from season 1 im worried there's going to be some convoluted bs that retroactively makes him an outright villain

Also René Auberjonois played him so well. It's a coin toss between whether Mr. House or his performance as Odo in DS9 is my favourite...probably still Odo, but it's close.
He is a Villain who has cannibal underlings, also his story and the way he manages New Vegas reeks of unchecked capitalism, he is defintely a well written character, but his traits are in line with a "corpo badguy". and portraying differently would be a disservice in my opinion.
He is a villian if you break it down. He can be our villian if we choose in the game but a villian none the less

I suspect that we'll see him in flashbacks only though tbh. I feel like giving New Vegas a canonical ending might be problematic. But said problem can be avoided if they explain that something happened after the events of the game that left New Vegas in ruin, and leave the outcome of the Hoover dam battle as vague as possible
I could be wrong about this of course, they could definitely explain house surviving somehow to have him in the show. And I certainly wouldn't complain because he's a very interesting character regardless of how you much you may agree/disagree with his worldview.
Ive watched S1 twice. Ive never watched a TV series twice, Im a one and done guy. But being a massive Fallout fan since FO1, I cant get enough. This show is a dream come true.
On my second viewing rn. Watched it the first time before playing the games and thought it was amazing. But AFTER playing the games, the attention to detail is INSANE! I mean they even had Grognak on the tv at the birthday party.

I've seen it 5-6x, mostly dragging others along. Fallout fans non-fans alike, universally cheer, cry, cringe and shout (not always at the same parts)
Here's hoping that rushing out the next season doesn't lower the quality.
Personally i think they will indeed canonize an ending. They have used misdirection to avoid spoilers, such as how the Predwen was in the Show, claiming it was a different Airship called the “Caswennon”
Here’s what I think happened: Mr.House Ending. After that, NCR retreats, Vault Tek nukes Shady Sands. NCR assumes Mr.House sent the Nuke, because they don’t know who else could have that kind of technology, so they launch a suicidal counterattack on New Vegas itself, everyone dies, leaving for the Tunnelers to pick over the remains…

In all endings, the 2nd battle for hover dam happens, right? With fighting Taking place in and around the turbines that create so much power.
My current guess? During the fighting something irreplaceable got broken. Thus dooming Vegas to a slow death via dehydration, and or destroying its ability to make power.
This way, all endings are still possible.

I hope they use some of that CGI budget to show off the laser and plasma weaponry. They don't have to do full disintegration like the games, but have burn wounds and burning clothing to give a similar effect.
I too was a little surprised the Brotherhood didnt have any laser weapons in season 1. Figured that kind of CGI wouldve been lower cost
They should make season 2 way longer than 8 episodes. That’s one thing I hate about current shows. They all get like 6-8 episodes and that is such a small amount of episodes

Whatever where the series takes which ending is canon, the show will have to make it justifiable since people will have mixed opinions on it's canon.
Yeah..... Which annoys me. No matter which ending they choose, fans will be pissed, even if it's justifiable since most fans don't want their precious New Vegas to be messed with. Frankly I'm just eagerly curious which they commit to. To me there was always gonna be a canon ending whether it was confirmed in a novel, game or now a show. Multiple endings complicates the universe of any franchise and it's not your franchise. It's Bethesda's now. They decide what happens. It's up to you whether or not it's fun enough for you to stay on the ride.
I can understand the frustration but honestly the way I see it, it's just an alternative reality of what did or what could have happened with fallout lore.
So long as fallout gets the respect it deserves I won't complain, although I do think that it's best they leave the Courier alone. Just subtle general terms if any mentions are made where maybe House sent him east to broker a deal with some other faction and leave it at that.

Hearing that things are being rushed can have understandable misgivings, but you also have to look at the 90s when they'd do stuff like pump out 20+ episodes of X-Files every year. It all depends on the team.

I think it's entirely possible Mr. House ran out of securitrons and is trapped in the Lucky 38 with no way to contact anyone.

I was eagerly waiting for season 2 before season 1 aired! As much as I want to see season 2 yesterday I hope they take the time to do it right. Don't rush it, in the great scheme of things another 3-6 months won't matter.
I do like the idea of more Pre War Mr House, he was such a force of dialog as a Post War entity

I prefer to call it a mini-series as a season should be at least 23 episodes.
My question now is, if the show cannot canonise any endings from the games (NV and 4), does that not bring into question the canon of the show itself? If we are in these already explored, established and lore heavy areas in the show, we already have so many possible endings to stories, even going insofar to confirm/rewrite (depending on your opinion) some of the pre-war lore.
The argument would be different if this happened in a new state, we could treat it like a new game, but being in California and Vegas are big deals, so to say that the show cannot canonise and ending for the games, makes me want to say that the show itself isn’t canon, because it can’t continue the stories where we left them, or rather it cannot follow any routes, therefore making it’s own endings.
That chalkboard scene pretty much decanonized the fallout show. If they can't get the dates right for the most popular fallout game (FNV) THEN THE SHOW ISN'T CANON. I still like it though, they got the vibes right for something based on fallout

FYI the Boys has one more season, season 5, before it wraps up. Also, Fallout is moving production from NY to CA. Even if those season sets are built, it’s highly unluckily they’ll be moving entire sets. They still need to rebuild them on the new studio lot.

Great video. I just wanted to add a comment regarding your mentioning of Vault 0 from Fallout Tactics. I'm not sure if you missed it, but coincidently that game features a character by the name of Lord Maximus. He is the leader of the legendary Dagger Squad of the Brotherhood of Steel. I just wanted to point this out as an interesting little tidbit.
One thing they might do is make one ending not canon and leave the rest for speculation

Feels like there's a bit of poetic irony that they have a rushed production schedule for season 2, which focuses around New Vegas... which also had a rushed, crunchy production. I sure hope that the quality of the show doesn't dip simply so that stockholders can pat themselves on the back while giving each other reach arounds.
Small correction, The boys is not having its series finale airing right now. That us about a year away, and only up to 405 is out at the moment.

I think it’s almost impossible to not canonize and ending while going to the strip, or at least decanonizing two of them. If the yes man ending happens he will still be around seeing as he has the means to produce additional securatrons and if Caesar’s legion wins the authoritarian rule would still be felt a decade later. I think it wouldn’t be too hard to be ambiguous between the ncr and house endings but I think that’s the furthest you can get without deciding on a specific ending
I hope they do the destruction of New Vegas well, also I hope the theory that the NCR attacked the Strip (like what General Oliver said he would do) is true. Like why else is there a crashed NCR vertibird there?
The boys “series finale” is *not* airing right now
One thing that kinda bugged me between the show and NV. If House is this involved in what Valt-Tec is doing, surely he would have access to cryo tech if he didn't already have it. So, it wouldn't make sense he would keep himself alive in that pod if he could've just froze himself. Which puts NV at odds again with what the show is doing.

I hope now with the success of this past season they will have the confidence/ability to add onto the stories of more characters from the games. Especially since they are heading to vegas, but we could also see characters from 2 and 4 referenced or shown in the show. Specifically seeing some of the companion characters from new vegas would be great, i could see someone like Arcade Gannon or Cass being able to be given a good role to play in the show
I would point out that shows that maintain consistent themes are able to reuse assets. So you can make the next season faster than the first.
If you upgraded the securitrons in the game How could anything stop them.. they could take on an army on how many there was plus the upgrade.. For Vegas to fall it has to go with the ending where you don't upgrade them.

There are a lot of Deathclaws in the Quarry Junction which is a literal hop, skip, and a jump from New Vegas. Could be possible that if that place wasn't cleared, either the Deathclaws would be attracted by the battles going on nearby or someone used the Deathclaws somehow.
Perhaps they were wiped out by Tunnelers?
They could at least have like 200 seasons if you want to do the whole world.

Considering that I binged watched the entire season 1 in one sitting, season 2 cannot get here fast enough.
Fallout is an epic storyline. with nostalgia. Of course, it would **** **** if it was done well. Why is everyone surprised by that? You give the customer what they want? They respond by saying, wow, that's really cool and good and wow. Thank you. Give us more. You don't give them what they want. They don't like it.
after watching some of my favourite serious being ruined by real life problems Fallout for the most part has been enjoyable to watch and finally something that doesnt have that problem and I really hope the next season will be awsome and the return of the NCR as I am a big NCR fan

3:00 I'm so excited for Fallout future honestly not just as a video game but as a multimedia property I think it has the actual ability to potentially rival Pokemon at some point as one of the largest media franchises of all time bethesda's not always known for playing their cards properly though

It's wild to think we can get an 8-episode TV series in 2/3 years whereas Fallout 5 could take 6-8 years to make!
Then again, 8 episodes is 7 hours, while Fallout 5 could take 40-100 hours to complete.
Hope to see more mr house. Love nv, and the show was okay. Really hope they take it a little slower though.
