They did… season finale. They adopted a baby and upon returning back to NY, Carrie learned she was pregnant. They went from zero to two kids in less than a year.
They had a baby in the final season after they adopted a baby in China.

You can not give back clothes you have already worn. I once tried this with a suit and they would not take it back after just 1 day or so although it was totally clean and everything ...
Actually people do allow you to return clothes, it probably didn't work for you because you stained it and kept it filthy
