- Taking delivery of one of the first 2023 G80 M3 Competition Xdrive with the all new iDrive 8 Curved display LCI models! I sold my F87 2021 M2 Competition for this absolute beast!
Congrats! I have an M2C now and I think the G80 will be my next move later on. Initially wasn't a fan of the new display but i gotta say...the animations are very cool! When you get a chance would love to see a video showing the new display from a driving POV. I think you are one of the first on youtube to take delivery with the new display!
Will definitely put together a video of the display and features! Now many have taken delivery of the curved display G80’s! A lot of ID7 cars are still sitting at the ports waiting to get shipped out to their owners! I got extremely fortunate of of got a guaranteed pre order allocation for the LCI. July build and delivered on Friday!
Day to day those seats will work out better..especially getting in and out.
Definitely agree! Love the CB but they are more work on you if you drive the car multiple times a week.
Nice. I'm waiting on my M3 to arrive. Hopefully, I'll get it late September. I can't wait for the spring when I can get to the Ring and Hockenheim.

-Initial order/allocation list started on 5/2/22.
- Allocation and code 112 status were provided on 7/28/22.
- BMW Genius called on 8/4/22 and I was provided Week 35 build week instead of my initial Week 39.
- Went to code 150 on 8/9/22. VIN issued.
-After a long 3 week wait of nothing happening, things really sped up from here:
-Went to code 151 on 8/31/22.
-Went to code 152 (Exterior Body Assembly ) on 8/31/22 to Dispatched from Factory on 9/2/22.
-In just three days everything was completed and it left the factory. Waiting at the port now for assignment to a carrier to ship it.

You won’t have the braking issues with the g80. My brakes are still all stock and they held up great at the Nordschleife and Hockenheim. I was doing some HEAVY breaking at Hockenheim too. I’ll be there again Sept 28.

I cant believe they changed the 23s screens into that, I am sorry to say 21-22 screens looks just perfect comparing to this, this feels like a EV type of interior screen just like the mercedes too, unlike the ones before, the performance and sport feeling with the screens are just there.
Just my opinion because I just got my M4C with full spec 4 months ago, if you liked how it is now I cannot judge much.
I felt this way before the purchase of the car but I ended up taking a gamble and going with the 23. It’s taken a little getting use to but honestly I have grown to like it quite a lot.

great pickup mate. Ive also got the M2C, not even a year old, but as much as i love the M3C, i just dont think i could ever part with the M2C.

I’ve ordered Skyscaper Grey X-drive with the red interiors , red break calliper and carbon package exact same spec as yours but didn’t go the vented seat. I’m booked for a Dec 22 Build with a March 23 delivery. Is that X-Drive badge included? I didn’t think BMW were going to do a badge for X drive. Love the new entertainment system too, was curious it would look out of place but your other video looks fantastic on it

You even have the anniversary badging which is indicative of a '22 build?
July is when BMW starts production of their next year models. I had a guaranteed MY23 allocation that was worked out with BMW directly. I also bought the car through bmw military sales program. The badging is being offered during a certain time frame that the car build time fell under. There is more that went into it and I’ll be doing a video about it in the near future.

I have a question when it comes to those curve displays like is that like an upgrade you ask for? like can it go on to any newer BMW? Or how does that work like I'm so confused by this please let me know cuz I'm in the looks for newer BMW actually like the one I see in the video is exactly what I'm looking for but I seen sometimes the same car without the curb display?
If you find a 2021-2022 G80 M3 it will have ID7 which doesn’t have the curved display. In 2023 they changed the infotainment into ID8 which comes with the curves display. There is no option to go without the curved display if it is a 2023 G80
Do you know if the g82 M4 will get this? My car is expected to be in production next month but on the bmw website it doesn’t show this new display
The only M’s getting right now is the 2023 G80 and G87. The M4 should still be with the ID7

I was extremely fortunate. I had a guaranteed pre order allocation and was the second 2023 G80 delivered by bmw. Ordered a 2022 end of March. Got told in April if I got an guaranteed pre order allocation if I would switch which I did. July order date 12 August delivery.

For the 3 series including the M3 yes. The 4 series and M4 will most likely get it model year 24

It should be following the 4 series LCI schedule so MY24 should hopefully be it.

Mine was delivered as fast as it was due to being stationed in Germany and had a guaranteed pre order allocation from military sales.
Is there an LCI for G80 for MY2023? 🤔 They just upgraded to iDrive 8/bigger screen to be aligned with the other models...I think the LCI due in MY2024/25/26
Pretty sure this is the LCI. Specially when dealerships are selling it as so. The G80 follows the 3 Series LCI release schedule which is MY23 and the G82 follows the 4 series LCI schedule which is MY24. You may be thinking of the complete redesign since 25/26 is the timeline they usually do a complete redesign of the entire car.

It’s not that controversial in my opinion. Looks different but it’s not bad. I would be more concerned if the performance and/or driving dynamics changed.
The new tacked on screen and graphics are just terrible. Should of kept the M2 imo.
Loved the M2 and will surely miss it. But I have to say now that the break in service is done this car is on a whole other league. I’ll get use to it but it scares the Shit out of me coming from the M2. When it comes to the screen once in the driver seat it doesn’t seem tacked on or like an after thought. Things flow once you spend the time setting everything up how you want it.

I was iffy on it in the beginning but now that I been driving and engaging with it. I like it. Makes things really easy on this road trip to Switzerland that I’m currently on.
Why is people obsessed with screens ? New cars are trash cause of all these screens , bring back phisical buttons.
It’s advancement in technology. We live in the digital age and sadly there won’t be any going back. The target audience that wants buttons is way lower than the ones that love and thrive on new tech.

@@dimmacommunication its not really about playing with the screen. you are able to customize to see the things that you want to see. some want their media displayed right in front of them, other want the navigation. Me I like the fact I can add boost pressure, temp, tire temps, G meter readings, and a few other things. but when it comes to the automotive industry every manufacturer is in a race to advance technologically. Mercedes luxury interiors are killing the competition and when it comes to BMW they are more of a luxury brand before they are a performance one. This move is simply them moving in the direction that will keep them competitive and also what their target audience wants. us M owners are just a small % of their customer base.

Absolutely hideous. I was about to get the ball rolling on an M3, but this ID8 monstrosity is an absolute deal-breaker. Sad to see BMW go to crap like this. Cheap slap-on pseudo-improvement, no esthetic value, and a kick in the nuts for everything BMW used to stand for: visceral, joyful driving pleasure. I'm out.
It’s really not that bad. Three months and 4500 miles later and I really like ID8 compared to my X7’s ID7. So much better in every way.

@@sebastianfluieras369 i felt the same way coming from the M2C and took the gamble when I was given the opportunity to grab a 23 guarantee pre order slot. And definitely don’t regret it one bit. And the displays are light years ahead of ID7 which I like. Definitely not cheap LCD’s.
