  • Dating Nigerian Men In Lagos, Nigeria. The biggest culture shock I have experienced in Lagos Nigeria. This video is about how married men dominate the dating scene on the Island in Lagos, Nigeria. Building relationships, platonic, or romantic is an essential aspect of relocating to an African country. So I am sharing my experiences here, so all of you know the deal.

      Men are naturally polygynous and African Men are proudly so.
      However, while those in the West are hypocritical about it, Nigerian men are comfortable bringing it to the knowledge of their families and friends.
      Although, while the Christians would keep the ladies as Mistresses and concubines, the Muslims are more likely to marry them legally in accordance with Islamic rites and afford the women equal rights and privileges.

    Wealth distribution is skewed in Nigeria, with men having upper hands. Most ladies want beautiful things of life. Some men realized this and took advantage of this development. Life of Zaddy is becoming a norm among some of the single ladies and married ones too. A friend's son who relocated to Lagos for compulsory NYSC, said he couldn't find a wife because of Zaddies. There are still hardworking and good looking single ladies out there but you have to really search very well. Do not be deceived by this born again crap. Many hide in the name of religion,

      Nigerians on average are more animated, Japanese are generally subdued. No way a Japanese man would walk up to a married woman. They can barely approach single girls! The population is practically declining because less people are hooking up! Nigeria on the other hand is set to be the 3rd largest population in the world in the next 30 years.

    Very hilarious, and you handled it well. I have spent enough time in Lagos to not be surprised by anything you reported. It’s part of the social marketplace that enough men and women indulge in to make it a thing. I think its harder for women in Lagos to find legit non-polyamorous partnerships, because women face harsher penalties for promiscuity than men. Best bet, from experience from the women I know, is to have legit intermediaries help in the search and vetting of potential male partners. I know it’s not as sexy a what might be in Mills and Boon books, but it seems to work.

    Okay, so when I heard that first story, I was like: mad o!
    Imagine that, a man is trying to procure a woman for his already married brother! Not only that, but he was trying to get a woman who was a doppelgänger of his brother's wife. For what? I can't wrap my head around it! I would have understood if his brother's wife was dead but she is alive and well.
    A common thread runs through all the stories that you told, and what it underscores for me is that a lot of Nigerians seemingly cannot tell what is right from what is wrong.
    I find that hard to believe but I think that is the only conclusion that I can make. It is what it is. It honestly doesn't make any sense, because I realize that on a normal day the churches will be full on Sundays of the same people!

Had a man from Ghana tell me, “if u leave me I’m gonna f your neighbors and stalk you” .... he definitely did all the above. But had a wife at home. Smh I didn’t believe he was married bc he was with me 24/7 and constantly took me around town and all of his friends and everyone of them called me his wife. I had experience when I came to Lagos Nigeria about 6 or 7 years ago. I had a luggage issue occur when I arrived in Lagos. So I went to find someone to help me with it. So this man that worked for the airline that I was on, came to help me very handsome man older guy, he was Hausa Yoruba gentleman. And how hausa men believe in having more than one wife. But I didn't find that out to later who he was. I'm very aware of Nigerian culture because my in-law is from Nigeria. But he did not know for sure how much I knew. He gave me the slip of paper with his number on it. And my in-law said that why is he giving you his number they don't usually do that??? So make a long story short he was trying to talk to me he telling me, how beautiful I was he can see me being a wife second wife to him, that he'll buy me a car, and I will have my own house even though he already had a wife for almost 30 years, an adult children. I believe being an African American woman traveling to Nigeria played a big role in that so I truly understand what you're saying. I said thank you but no thank you because I don't consider sharing my husband, when the Lord bless me with one. He was Muslim and I am Christian as well. And I'm saying all to say this it didn't even matter, a lot of my Nigerian Brothers regardless of their Muslim or Christian seems to feel that they want more women. They're not satisfied with the wife that they have. Lord have mercy!!!👀🙏💪

    Savagery eh! I couldn't agree more and yeah.. Most Nigerian men think around their account balances as a catalytic reason for why they should get any woman their eye catches, judges okay or maybe just moves a muscle for them.. And that's not okay. It's the society I grew up in and I'm well aware how men with money get around.. In fairness to the subject though.. Some Lagos women too are super balsy too.. Even married ones.. It definitely goes both ways in that terrain.. So.. It is what it is really!! Lol..

      @veroniquendambo3242 Před 2 lety +1

      Money and power act like an aphrodisiac. All of them like act that everywhere under this sun. In some parts of the world, men lacking the guts to approach women, some of whom they find intimidating, will resort to assaulting them. In a country like where the young lady comes from, one will hardly believe what those men who have money and power are capable of or are doing. There have been countless stories unveiled about men leading double or tripples lives without their spouse noticing. A man having a wife and children in California for instance, a mistress in Massachussets and another one probably with children in New York! Now then, what is the probability of those three women and their children encountering one another? None at all and the man can get away with it! Making such a comparison is not an approval of such behaviours. Certainly not! My stance on the subject is that Nigerian men are being open and honest about the matter. In fact, they are just living in a competing land where there are sooooooo many beautiful women and handsome men who are rich, therefore generous providers. This is no excuse either but men's brains were wired to make calculations and find solutions. If a man is married and court other women, that does not mean he lacks respect to his wife or wives. Hell no! This is an error side chicks usually make because there is no confusion in a man's head about that. They are just performing a duty God created the for but society by means of laws always discipline them.
