It is always highly recommended to upgrade to SSD to make gaming experience a lot snappier, especially for open world games. Even a cheap SSD is a lot better than regular HDD. Ordered myself a 960GB Kingston A400 and will be upgrading it on my OG PS4 soon.

Yeah. Sooo long. It's a breeze with the SSD. I finished the game with the HDD back then. When I decided to revisit the game this year, installed in the SSD, I was really impressed.
Awesome comparison. I recently upgraded to a Samsung EVO this year. It's crazy how I never thought to upgrade a lot sooner. Some games benefit greatly, some pretty much run the same. For sure the UI runs a lot smoother.
Just upgraded my PS4 to SSD. Am I correct that this only affects the games stored on the SSD, and not any games stored on an additional HDD external storage device?
@@eduardomeza7279 Yeah, pretty much games stored on the SSD will run a little better compared to the external HDD. I personally use an external SSD USB drive. Brand is called Buffalo. Works well.

No SSD, vejo que a performance dos jogos gow ragnarok, cyberpunk 2077, final fantasy XV, assasin's creed origins, odyssey, horizon forbidden west, ghost of tsushima tem uma diferença boa em termos de tempo de carregamento e qualidade de texturas.
I've seen the most difference in Cyberpunk 2077. It also improves texture loading in other games, but it depends on the game. Sometimes it doesn't change anything, even loading times.
If Ps4 is still your main console, it's worth adding an SSD for the Ps4 dashboard alone. I've had a Ps5 for 3 years now. I recently hooked up the ol Ps4 for my spouse to play games. I couldn't believe how sluggish that thing was now.

are you sure your hdd is not busted? i don't think devs would release cyberpank on base ps4 with that state, it's unplayable if the whole game shows the same symptoms
Yeah. Before the upgrade, I never had any problems with any games. I still use the former PS4 HDD as a external storage drive. Still works fine. Check out some other videos from the time of Cyberpunk 2077's release to see the state it was. I can't say how the game is now on PS4, I stopped playing soon after recording this video. I plan on playing it on a current gen console.

Not to brag or anything, as my personal experience. I load the game a more faster then the booth time was only just a few seconds. That means...it really depends on what brand of SSD we're going to use as an internal storage
The problem is that the PS4's hardware can't take much advantage of the SSD, even though it performs better than a mechanical drive. And it's not viable to compare with the old cartridge based consoles. They had a lot less data to load.

Pois é. Eu esperava que no Witcher 3 melhoraria mais tb. Deve ser que o PS4 tem que descomprimir dados, ou sei lá. Algo faz o carregamento ser longo mesmo com armazenamento mais rápido. Já nos outros jogos, senti uma melhora muito maior.

Hello. To be honest I don't know. I inserted it in my PS4 as soon as it arrived. I never connected it to a PC or formatted it on one. I've just let the PS4 do all the formatting work and installed the PS4 software directly on it. I'm still using the same SSD to this day. It's working just fine.
It really depends on the game. I haven't tested GOW, and with some games the difference is minimal to be honest. But you can see the results for the games I tested in the video. I haven't altered any results in any way. From my experience, I can say that most games load faster, but as I said, some games don't benefit from the faster storage and the experience will be similar to HDD.
Eu confio no Kingston A400. É o que uso. Sobre o SSD de 500 GB, eu diria q vale a pena se vc não tem tantos jogos assim pra instalar e esse espaço dá pra vc. Pq a performance aumenta bastante. Só não recomendaria se vc tiver muitos jogos pra instalar. Outra coisa, sempre bom deixar livre cerca da metade do tamanho do SSD, para maior durabilidade.
Unfortunately I don't own Assassin's Creed Unity for the PS4. But from my experience with other games, fps is not improved. What could happen is the textures loading faster. If the game lags because it waits them to load, that could be resolved, theoretically. But I can't test, unfortunately.
Is there any difference with MW2 warzone? My HDD seems to really struggle with texture loading and frame rate dips. Thinking of upgrading to SSD but not sure if it would be worth it.
@Deja I've got a ps5 and a series S. But I have 2x ps4 aswell in the house as we all play warzone. Turns out after a hard drive swap and testing on a slim ps4 that the APU is failing.

No. The PS4 installs every game on the HDD or SSD. The disc only tells the console the game is allowed to be played. So, even when playing games from the disc, the load times will be faster.

O barramento controlado pelo CI na placa mae do PS4 usa a mesma velocidade na USB 3.00 da direita e no conector Sata do HDD, entao a velocidade sera a mesma.

Depende muito do jogo. No geral ele acelera muito o carregamento das texturas. Mas se o jogo for mal programado, aimda vão demorar um pouco pra aparecer as texturas boas.
Não tem. Tive que comprar a versão física, que hoje não é muito barata. Mas valeu a pena. É um ótimo jogo. Pena que os servidores já estão desativados.
Sendo sincero, eu sempre comprei o SSD da Kingston. Nunca outra marca. Esse eu conheço, confio e sempre funciona bem. Sobre o Husky, seria bom olhar uma análise mais detalhada antes de comprar.
I have loved video games my whole life but now.... something has happened and it's ridiculous..no matter what game it is textures loading in and out in the players veiw it's all games really bad in Octopath traveler 2....it's like the textures load then if u walk back a little u can watch it unload...I think because devs now use texture streaming instead of just making sure they are probably loaded ...it has ruined gaming for me completely and it was the one thing I loved it was like art to me thank you for listening and I hope u guys can enjoy games the way I use to before this software issue that is really bad
I know what youre talking about. It's specialy annoying in the Resident Evil 4 Remake. Devs have always used techniques to improve performance. For the most part they work well and there isn't much visual impact. But some games have ridiculous effects.

Olá. Ajuda sim, mas depende muito do jogo. Tem jogo que parece que não muda nada no carregamento das texturas, outros melhoram muito. Como não tenho o Callisto Protocol, não posso te confirmar como seria com ele. Mas no geral, eu recomendo a troca. É só ter consciência que com alguns jogos, não vai ter diferença.

Bem. A interface realmente dá uma boa acelerada. Os apps de streaming tb funcionam um pouco melhor. Só não espere um desempenho infinitamente melhor neles. Ajuda, mas não faz milagre tb..
As pessoas falam que o SSD não traz melhoria nenhuma para PS4 é pq o PS4 usa um padrão de sata antigo. Porém o ganho que ele tem com o ssd é considerável sim, pois não exige procura de dados como um hd mecânico. Ele é muito mais eficiente e dá muito mais velocodade e fluidez para o PS4. Eu recomendo usar.

Bem, difícil dizer pois não tem como saber o que tinha nessa sequência cancelada. Eu suspeito que aproveitaram as ideias em vários jogos do Mario que saíram depois. Como o próprio Sunshine.
O PS4 ainda tem bastante lenha pra queimar. Esse upgrade realmente ajuda bastante na qualidade de vida com o console. Vale a pena, se não pretende comprar um PS5 no momento.
Esses eu não testei. GTA não testei pq tem várias pessoas que já testaram ele, o GOW eu já tinha zerado quando gravei o vídeo. Não me lembro se estava instalado.
O ideal é sempre deixar mais ou menos metade do ssd livre. Quanto mais cheio pior pra vida útil dele. Mas tb não quer dizer que vai rodar mal os jogos que já estão instalados.

Monster Hunter World, specially, feels a lot more fluid when running from the SSD because loading is frequent. It's a huge difference.

Pois é. Eu esperava que no Witcher 3 melhoraria mais tb. Deve ser que o PS4 tem que descomprimir dados, ou sei lá. Algo faz o carregamento ser longo mesmo com armazenamento mais rápido. Já nos outros jogos, senti uma melhora muito maior.
@@N64Brasil o pior de todos no the witcher é os loading depois que vc morre, comigo parece que demora mais do que carregar o jogo inteiro, ate desisti de jogar no ps4, espero que no ps5 com o upgrade de nova geraçao eles tenham melhorado isso.
@@ricardo_tanji99 Pois é, realmente. Lembro deles. Incomoda muito qdo vc tá numa parte difícil. Eu ainda consegui zerar o jogo na época, mesmo usando o HD. Faltaram as DLCs. Talvez jogue elas tb, agora com o SSD. A diferença não é muito grande, mas ajuda um pouco.

@@adrianzielonoocki8205 Not the HDD format, for example Exfat or NTFS, that's not it, what I mean here is that the storage model for the first time will still get the MBR or GPT option & we have to set it ourselves, PS4 can't do it except format Exfat, PS4 can do it with MBR, GPT must be our own choice, now this is what has confused me until now 😓😓
Hello. To be honest I don't know. I inserted it in my PS4 as soon as it arrived. I never connected it to a PC or formatted it on one. I've just let the PS4 do all the formatting work and installed the PS4 software directly on it. I'm still using the same SSD to this day. It's working just fine.

This is ridiculous. God of 2018 on my ps4 slim seems normally fast as hell I have no issue with loading times. This is hard to believe
It really depends on the game. I haven't tested GOW, and with some games the difference is minimal to be honest. But you can see the results for the games I tested in the video. I haven't altered any results in any way. From my experience, I can say that most games load faster, but as I said, some games don't benefit from the faster storage and the experience will be similar to HDD.
That load time on FFXV on the HDD though 😅
Yeah. I wish I had made the upgrade already back when I played the game from start to finish. The long load times really annoyed me.

Eu confio no Kingston A400. É o que uso. Sobre o SSD de 500 GB, eu diria q vale a pena se vc não tem tantos jogos assim pra instalar e esse espaço dá pra vc. Pq a performance aumenta bastante. Só não recomendaria se vc tiver muitos jogos pra instalar.
Outra coisa, sempre bom deixar livre cerca da metade do tamanho do SSD, para maior durabilidade.
Vale sim mano, até pq tu pode usar esse de 1TB como HD externo, só comprar uma case (menos de 50 reais acredito)

Unfortunately I don't own Assassin's Creed Unity for the PS4. But from my experience with other games, fps is not improved. What could happen is the textures loading faster. If the game lags because it waits them to load, that could be resolved, theoretically. But I can't test, unfortunately.
Is there any difference with MW2 warzone? My HDD seems to really struggle with texture loading and frame rate dips. Thinking of upgrading to SSD but not sure if it would be worth it.
Just buy a series s bro it's pretty cheap and smooth or maybe you could just buy a ps5 if you have extra money imo
@Deja I've got a ps5 and a series S. But I have 2x ps4 aswell in the house as we all play warzone. Turns out after a hard drive swap and testing on a slim ps4 that the APU is failing.
I haven't tested Warzone, unfortunately. I did only before the upgrade. What's the file size? Depending, I could download it here, test it, andet you know.
What's the situation when you are playing the disc version of a game? Do the loading times become longer then?
No. The PS4 installs every game on the HDD or SSD. The disc only tells the console the game is allowed to be played. So, even when playing games from the disc, the load times will be faster.

Bem, eu vi um vídeo do Digital Foundry sobre o assunto (inclusive recomendo vc ver). A velocidade é melhor também, desde que vc use uma case 3.0.
Eu não fiz o teste, já que instalei internamente, mas parece que o resultado é bom também.

O barramento controlado pelo CI na placa mae do PS4 usa a mesma velocidade na USB 3.00 da direita e no conector Sata do HDD, entao a velocidade sera a mesma.

Depende muito do jogo. No geral ele acelera muito o carregamento das texturas. Mas se o jogo for mal programado, aimda vão demorar um pouco pra aparecer as texturas boas.
No geral, o carregamento inicial do jogo também é mais rápido, como pode ver no vídeo. Mas tb depende bastante do jogo.

Sendo sincero, eu sempre comprei o SSD da Kingston. Nunca outra marca. Esse eu conheço, confio e sempre funciona bem. Sobre o Husky, seria bom olhar uma análise mais detalhada antes de comprar.
Coloquei um SSD da Husky no meu note e gostei do desempenho dele, o de 1 TB está com um preço bom na Kabum, estou pensando em pegar.

I have loved video games my whole life but now.... something has happened and it's ridiculous..no matter what game it is textures loading in and out in the players veiw it's all games really bad in Octopath traveler 2....it's like the textures load then if u walk back a little u can watch it unload...I think because devs now use texture streaming instead of just making sure they are probably loaded ...it has ruined gaming for me completely and it was the one thing I loved it was like art to me thank you for listening and I hope u guys can enjoy games the way I use to before this software issue that is really bad
I know what youre talking about. It's specialy annoying in the Resident Evil 4 Remake. Devs have always used techniques to improve performance. For the most part they work well and there isn't much visual impact. But some games have ridiculous effects.

Olá. Ajuda sim, mas depende muito do jogo. Tem jogo que parece que não muda nada no carregamento das texturas, outros melhoram muito. Como não tenho o Callisto Protocol, não posso te confirmar como seria com ele. Mas no geral, eu recomendo a troca. É só ter consciência que com alguns jogos, não vai ter diferença.

Bem. A interface realmente dá uma boa acelerada. Os apps de streaming tb funcionam um pouco melhor. Só não espere um desempenho infinitamente melhor neles. Ajuda, mas não faz milagre tb..

As pessoas falam que o SSD não traz melhoria nenhuma para PS4 é pq o PS4 usa um padrão de sata antigo. Porém o ganho que ele tem com o ssd é considerável sim, pois não exige procura de dados como um hd mecânico. Ele é muito mais eficiente e dá muito mais velocodade e fluidez para o PS4. Eu recomendo usar.

Na PS3 pode muito bem meter um disco de 7200rpm, a entrada SATA apenas lê até aos 150mb/s. Na PS4 sim vale bem mais a pena.
Basicamente basta comprar um ssd de 30 euros em vez de uma ps5 de 500
O PS4 ainda tem bastante lenha pra queimar. Esse upgrade realmente ajuda bastante na qualidade de vida com o console. Vale a pena, se não pretende comprar um PS5 no momento.

Esses eu não testei. GTA não testei pq tem várias pessoas que já testaram ele, o GOW eu já tinha zerado quando gravei o vídeo. Não me lembro se estava instalado.

O ideal é sempre deixar mais ou menos metade do ssd livre. Quanto mais cheio pior pra vida útil dele. Mas tb não quer dizer que vai rodar mal os jogos que já estão instalados.
