- This round 1 Tampa Bay Lightning vs Toronto Maple Leafs series that has been absolute chaos and last night, the Leafs GM Kyle Dubas got involved! We NEVER see NHL General Managers interacting with fans like this and certainly not throwing F bombs and talking trash! After a Twitter user posted the clip, it has gone viral as again, this is just not something we see. Now this game, like the first 2 was awesome. We saw 2 60 goal scorers fight in a playoff game for the first time in NHL playoff history with Steven Stamkos and Austin Matthews going at it. We saw a goal get called off that was controversial to say the least and we got a last minute goal to force overtime. It had it all and I cover it all in todays NHL hockey video!

@JerseyDevilGMan there is no NHL team like that it mostly depends on which city or province your in
@JerseyDevilGMan Is there a team that most of the US embraces? It's the same here.
“Does he not realize half of the Tampa bay team is Canadian” that applies to literally the entire league lol. Every team is loaded up with Canadian players
That's why it's hilarious when the american fans bring up the "canadian stanley cup drought" as if that's a thing that matters to us. It's like waving a super bowl victory in the faces of the rest of the world. Do these people not realize that Canadians will actively root against Canadian teams? Like I'm required to root for the Oilers or the Jets... or even worse the Canadiens? Come on.
Well the subhuman floridian who said that would clearly not have a clue about that, or where Canada is, or any simple geographical, or other facts.
You know you ain’t thinking logically when you’re in a shouting match like that lol
He means Canada as in Toronto dumb to call the guy who said that as insensitive, is their home arena of course it makes sense to tell their GM to go home.

He was embarrassed for Dubas
People judging him as if he wasnt getting chirped by those same fans the entire Game for choking the lead...
I mean most of the leafs nation were judging Jeannot, Maroon, and Perry for chirping back on the fans in game 2 while they were in the penalty box. People were saying they were “classless” and un professional for it. Me personally I don’t see it as un-professional or classless. Like if your gonna chirp someone be prepared to get chirped back.

He's definitely a strange specimen for a GM. He seems to have genuine attachment to the players. I don't think him fighting with fans is a great look but if you're going to hear it all night, I don't care if you give it back for a little while. People calling him classless when their Tampa fans were undoubtedly saying shit to him the whole game, so hypocritical. It's so hypocritical. I don't care if Dubas is the GM, if you're going to yell shit at him, how can you be shocked if he says something back? HOW? I’m not sure how other people view this, I am Canadian, and I believe the Tampa Bay fan was just telling the GM to go back to Canada not everybody else. I think he was trying to say act like you deserve the position you have, and don’t yell at the fans and if you can’t do that, then you should go back to Canada and I think that person would probably say the same about anybody from another city in America. Just my take, we don’t really know because we’re not in their brains. But I want to assume the best of the Tampa fans even though I am from Toronto.

I have been told a lot in that arena to go back to Canada. I always find that strange considering the amount of Canadians on the team.
It has been a very intense and exciting series. You can't hold it against Dubas for getting emotional.

I think Tampa fans were more upset that 50% of the arena were cheering for the Leafs. The entire upper bowl was leafs fans. 😂
Not a surprise, Leafs have a big fan base. Bettman keeps pushing hockey in markets where it'll never truly take off. As a Canadian, I wish Bettman was gone.
If that is true then Tampa needs to adjust their ticket purchasing policy. You won't see that in Carolina because if you don't live in Carolina or southern Virginia you ain't getting playoff tickets to PNC. It's wonderful.

FIRST
also watched the game, so happy the leafs won and bro the fighting was crazy
I'm neither a Leaf's fan or a Tampa fan and I have to say I think that Tampa got screwed at a couple of key moments by the refs. Number one was that goal called back but number two was in OT when the Leaf's player took off the net. He didn't try to get out of the way and it came right on the heels of heavy pressure and a good chance from Tampa. Should have been a delay of game call.
What goes around comes around. Leafs got screwed last season against Tampa and should've won that series but awful officiating gave Tampa the win.
BS. Coming in at speed & no way to stop in time. They very rarely call that under those circumstances. The refs will blow plays dead if it looks like the 'tender has the puck under his pad, which he did & Point jammed it past AFTER the whistle. Not a continous motion play, so frankly, the right call. I'm more curious as to why Stamkos wasn't given an instigator penalty for punching Matthews from behind repeatedly in the scrum after Point fell into the boards, or why Hagel wasn't wasn't assessed a slashing penalty after slashing Nylander on the hands (they call it virtually everytime) THREE times while chasing him up to the Tampa blue line in clear view of the ref at centre ice.
Omg, man as a habs fan I can't belive i'll defend the Leafs but I disagree (respectfully) with your second point. Here's how I see it: Marincin fell (volontarly, so he could extend his body further) while trying to take the puck away from Colton and ended up sliding flat on the ice thowards the net. Idk if you ever skated but when you fall on the ice there nothing you can really do to actively control where you are going. He even bumped into Samsanov right pad and Samsonov seemed a bit hurt, he laided on the ice for a few seconds before getting back up. I don't think Marincin would have intentionally taken the risk of injuring his goalie just so the Leafs could have a little pause from Tampa's pressure. During a game 7 maybe...(even tho I would be so fucked up), but not for a game 3 when series is 1-1, not with your best goalie. Also, just before hitting Samsonov, he had turned enough his skate around so he tried to get up and brake, but it was too late. There'S just NO WAY this was an attempt to delay the game.
@@criticallofi3054 Not Marincin (you really are a Habs fan). It was Noel Acciari, a highly effective defensive forward (not unlike Danault) who, while skating back at full speed, dove on the play trying to defend the scoring chance, sliding toward his net & managed to get to back onto his skates just in time to slam into the net. He narrowly avoided driving full volume into Samsonov, but certainly not popping the net off to intentionally stop play. Thanks for defending the hated Leafs.
The Leafs now play like the 'Flying Frenchmen' used to play in the 50's, 60's & 70's. As a teenager in the Sittler, Salming years, the Leafs & Habs always had the best regular season games despite that asshole Ballard. Coupled with fact the Canadiens beat the truly hated Flyers regularly, that had me cheering for Montreal when the Leafs were out of the playoffs. Very surprised that Montreal went from Cup final in '21 to dead last in the NHL in '22 & last in the division in '23. Goes to show you how valuable Price, Weber & Danault et al were, but no worries, the Leafs were dead last in 2015 & have managed to make the post-season every year since. The cap causes cycles & Montreal will come out of their down cycle shortly. Faith.

It is probably true that more then half of the NHL is Canadian (players, coaches, and staff included). However, I’m not quite sure a Canadian version of the NHL would ever bring in near the amount of advertising revenue or viewership that the NHL does in the U.S. The two countries need each other for the sport to grow and prosper!

I was at a game when Ted Leonsis (the owner of the Washington Capitals) got into a verbal altercation with a Caps fan at a game in the concourse. He later issued an apology on their website and most of the fans, including me, agreed that Ted didn't do anything wrong. Fans sometimes get a little drunk and say stupid shit and then are surprised when team management or players take exception to the things they say. I've got no issue with what Kyle did here.
