Joanne Shaw Taylor is a singer and blues guitarist from the West Midlands region of England's "Black Country." She was discovered by Dave Stewart of The Eurythmics back in 2001, when she was just 16 years old. Since that time she has played with some of the greatest musicians in the world. Joanne is a two-time winner of the Best Female Vocalist award at the British Blues Awards, as well as a Songwriter of the Year award winner. And in 2021, Joanne had her first #1 on the Billboard Blues Albums chart with her album The Blues Album, produced by Joe Bonamassa. She has since released another new record called Nobody’s Fool, and she is ready to hit the road and bring her brand of great blues music to the fans.
In this interview, Joanne discusses her intentions with her latest album, Nobody's Fool. She also tells us what it's like for her as a female in the world of blues guitarists. We talk about her guitars, her gig with Annie Lennox in 2012 at Buckingham Palace, the person she would most want to talk with, and what she might say to a job with AC/DC.
