- Bubbleworks opened at Chessington World of Adventures in 1990 as 'Professor Burps' Bubbleworks', a fizzy drinks factory. In 2005 the ride became sponsored by Cusson's (soap) and re-themed to a soap factory, dropping 'Professor Burp' and re-named simply 'Bubbleworks'.
In September 2016, the ride took its final riders before closing down to make way for a new ride.

Of all man made creations in the world, this is one thing that should have existed eternity. The Bubbleworks was the greatest ride ever and when we went on school trip, "PLEASE keep your hands out of the water"
I Hate how an ip is replacing this classic. Its an absolutely amazing ride that always had theming and made an immersive experience.

@@oreosandlemons I say we just say it in Chessingtons social media's, though don't spam. If they get to recognise how special and good this attraction once was, maybe after they lose their license to the Gruffalo, they could bring it back to its original glory.

"Please keep your arms and legs inside the boat"!! We never listened either Laura! lol I remember once a water fight with us and the boat behind, but then we got stuck on the lift, they were still at the bottom throwing water at us but we didn't have any water to throw back, drenched!!!

I've yet to ride or see a POV of Gruffalo, but I was most fond of the original fizzy drink theme.

Oh my god, I didn't know the name of this ride for so long. I always had this hazy memory of bright colours and bubbles. I used to go on this always when I was 3, my mum was getting a bit sick of me lol.

Bubbleworks used to be the highlight of my chessington trips. Going in a few months hopefully and boy do I miss this ride. The gruffalo does it hardly any justice, but I’m glad they didn’t fully destroy it. R.I.P bubbleworks.
This was my favourite ride when I went to Chessignton it was my mum's favourite ride when she first went and my dad told me the story of how they kissed on this ride. It is a part of my life and I'm sad it's gone

Most of the rides props were auctioned off to Fans, and the sets are still there, but boarded up behind walls where all the Gruffalo props are now.

For me, the original fizzy drink factory had already been tampered with when they changed it to the soap factory with the sponsorship. I'm yet to ride it as Gruffalo though.
This ride has always felt like a fever dream to me. So sad that it's gone!!!😭 They should bring it back and remove The Gruffalo, cause this was my childhood.

It’s been refurbished to be the gruffalo - I’ve been on it. It follows the story
I remember the last time I went on this before it became the gruffalo - after we went down the slide into the fountain room, it must have been a faulty tub because as we splashed into the water, the tub started filling up with water; how it kept going until the end, I’ll never know but we did end up with not only soggy feet but the bottom of our legs wet 😂
I think I rode in that boat to!! Yes, same happened to us... lol
One boat even in the gruffulo is like that I got it and my feet have never been soggier

When i see this video smells like bubbles
Even though it used soapy smell pots when Cussons' sponsored it in later years, I have stronger memories of the fruity smell it had as a fizzy pop factory!
Why did they have to get rid of it it was 10 times better than the gruffolo the themeing was better as well
