    The triumph quickshifter is leagues better than the BMW GS. The clutch lever can be adjusted as far in as you want. It’s a cable clutch, just spin the nob on the cable… The handlebars aren’t too far forward, you are just sitting too far back on your seat lol. You’ll have WAY more control if you sit your butt all the way forward on your seat. Keep your toes tucked inward, not outward, with the ball of your foot on the pegs. The 900 rally pro is also an incredible bike off-road.

    Strange to be honest... I have been riding this bike for 2 years now. I tour the Alps 3 times. I have no issues what so ever with handlining. It swallows the difficult mountain twisties easily, I was even surprised I was going on difficult road better than others around me on sport touring bikes?? And I only have motorcycle licence for 2.5 years, so I am by no means super experience or great rider, so it was mostly bikes abilities. In my opinion it is close to perfection for all rounder, explorer bike.

      Yes, you have a good point. But what I am saying is that I did not have ANY issues with the Tiger 900 Rally Pro. I am comparing my rides with many other bikes around me with no issues what so ever I was as fast and as smooth on the road as any bikes or better (e.g I was as fast on twisties as GS's, AfricaTwins, Versys etc etc). I have only ridden about 12 bikes so far, but it is also some fair comparison. @@maldridge7630

      Yeah, it's a matter of a reference point. For years I've been riding a Suzuki V-Strom 1000 and would just take it as it was and only when I started experiencing different ones, I would get to realise that there can be major differences. It's a matter of perspective. Some say that if you want to stay happy with a current bike, simply don't try others ;). It may sound sarcastic but it also makes a lot of sense in some circumstances.

      @garyorocks Před 4 měsíci

      @vtoldmoto I see you mentioned comfy suspension. As an owner of 2 years who has put 10000kms. I can say that if you dial suspension to soft, handling is shit and if you make it hard, it is amazing. Because with soft rebound, the rake angle increases suddenly, making it stand up, which doesnt happen with hard setting. I use soft on dirt and hard on road. I get that with your limited experience, your honest review is your honest opinion. Try different suspension setting next time like MAD TV does here in Australia

    • @VToldsMotoShow
      @VToldsMotoShow  Před 6 měsíci +1

      The resemblance to BMW R 1250 GS in a V-Strom 800DE is in medium speed handling, so how easy and eager it is to turn. In terms of suspension itself and how it deals with bumps so mostly comfort, Tiger 900 Rally is in my opinion an absolute king of the segment and the most comfortable motorcycle in its class.

    A fine review of the 900 Tiger rally version, which is the channel's brand image.
    I was impressed by your opinion about the comfort of the suspensions. Do you compare them to BMW 1250 GSA comfort?
    I'm a little upset with the strong change that BMW has made to the GS, not the overall technological enhancements which I aplaude, but the narrowing of the bike in general terms was a deception for me. I hope they don’t mess up the same way with the GSA version, because in that case I might be open to other Market proposals like Triumph Tiger 1200 GT…I enjoy big bikes and if they go on shrinking the entire lineup, I must start looking elsewhere for strong heavy hardware bikes, because that’s what I like in big bikes, not the slimmest, not the small types, but the heavy duty type of bikes. I like powerful and kinda heavy, solid bikes that endure all type of work we throw on them. So, this far, BMW was my best pattern, but I’m feeling they might want to go on different direction, “less is more”, and those kind of thoughts. And I’m all ears and eyes nowadays.
    Thanks once again! ✌️✌️

      Let's see if there will be an Adventure version of the 1300. As for suspension comfort, this Tiger 900 Rally is really really good. I'm not exactly sure about the 1250 GS Adventure's comfort but I feel that this Tiger should be more plush and I really like how it swallows bumps. It's more similar to a BMW F 800 GS (the two generations back one) that felt very similar and would take literally anything I would throw at it. It's in fact one of only two motorcycles within the big and midsize adventure motorcycles that I was ever eager to take offroad and play with. All the best!

    @suneelthedead Před 4 měsíci

    At 6 ft tall, I have a feeling your posture on the Tiger is not ideally the way this style of motorcycle is meant to be ridden. That's the only explanation for your reach issues with the handlebar. I recommend you watch Chris Birch's 'Say No To Slow' series for ADV riding. It helped me dramatically and made me realize how terrible my form, positioning and riding style was for dirt oriented adventure bikes. The Tiger 900 RP is set up to be ridden like a dirt bike/supermoto with respect to posture. Balls of your feet on the pegs, arms wide, back leaned forward over the tank to create right angles at your elbows. This posture helps you throw the bars into countersteer while keeping your balance point neutral. There should be slight pressure through your feet at all times, ready to load them so your butt is never absorbing big bumps, but your knees are.
    Keeping this style of posture I have had no reach issues whatsoever with the bars on my RP, and we are about the same height.

    GEAR LEVER POSITION. That's funny. I'm 183cm, and just test road 2024 Rally Pro (there are no changes for these things between models as far as I know). My issue was, that I asked to investigate if the gear lever can be put higher, because it was leaving markings on my boots much further than the rubber patch of the boot which is meant for the lever. I was basically lifting up the lever with ends of my toes in a weird angle. The lever are simply too low on the demo bike, thus to be able to push it up, one needs to make an angle of ankle forward so much, that it became painful after some time of riding. It simply must be higher, otherwise boot doesn't fit under. If I was riding with shoes, I guess it would be fine, but boots just doesn't fit under.
    IT IS ADJUSTABLE. I asked the salesman, he went to check with mechanics and he came back with the answer: "yes, it can be put higher, but it will require quick-shifter calibration". I asked if it would be extra or included in the bike price, and was told "It's not extra, adjustment will be free".

    The handling problems are all down to the crap standard tyres, bike is transformed with decent tyre and a week on the suspension to almost super bike handling to the point where your grinding the pegs all the time and still able to do decent greenlaning, never had a problem with heat but I am I the UK, don't tend to use the quickshifter as I an old school biker, with you on the lights and the horn, had the bike from new in 2020 30k on the bike now and still pressing the horn or toggle by mistake.
    After riding all the other options in 2020 I chose this and still love it, yes it has faults, but so do all bikes...

    CLUTCH LEVER POSITION. The bite point of clutch is adjustable. For example, I road Honda Transalp in one dealership and the bite was in about the middle of the move. I rode Transalp in another dealership, and the bite was at the end of move. Thus, it was very hard to ride, exactly how you describe it. But it's again adjustable thing.
    However, I agree, that the lever closest position on Tiger 900 should be much closer than it is. We both 183cm, there's no reason why our hands should feel like the lever should be even closer thant the closest possible position. But for comparison the new GS 1300 is even worse! It's not even ridable.

    QUICK-SHIFTER. I test road 2023 GT Pro, and 2024 both Rally Pro and GT Pro. You also mentioned that gear lever position is too low. Gear lever position is set up together with quick-shifter calibration. It sounds, like something was set up wrong on that bike. There is no better quick-shifter in the market than Tiger 900. It's the smoothest of all both up and down. The gear lever is the lightest as well. It can be used even to go first to second and vice versa, no need to release throttle. And it's still smooth. I tried DesertX, Husqvarna 901, KTM 890, GS 1300, Suzuki 800RE, Honda Transalp. No one is even close to the perfection of Tiger 900 quick-shifter. Something was clearly wrong with your bike, it needs to be sent to dealership for fixing/calibrating.
