Awesome Fly Fishing Road trip spanning 4 states and 2,200 miles! The goal of this trip was to take my family back to Colorado and show them where I grew up and to fish some of my favorite Colorado trout streams for rainbows and browns. We loaded up the Northern Lite Camper on the Ford F350 and checked out Arches National Park, Glenwood Springs Pool, Aspen, Breckenridge, Frisco, and finally my home town of Dillon Colorado. It was a great family adventure and a great time had by all.

god, family, and of course trout! great days
I remember when I was a kid, a truck camper was THE way to camp! Enjoyed the family vacation and family togetherness. Seems to be a vanishing part of our society. I hope more people see this and are inspired. Great fishing, as always. Thanks for good content!
Thank you Lucy! Yeah the camper is great. So versatile and you can take it just about anywhere too. Appreciate the support as always! Tight lines my friend!!
When I grew up (in the 50s) my dad took me up to fish the frying pan many times where we would tent camp right on the river before they built Rudi reservoir. We fished below Chapman damn and caught tons of fish. We would always stop in Glenwood and hit the hot springs pool on the last day before heading back to Denver. Brings back great memories, thanks for the video.
Summit County is an amazing area and I can't imagine growing up there. I moved to Frisco from Amarillo with a buddy after HS in '90 and tried to make a go of it working in ski shops. Unfortunately there was a housing shortage back then and we had to leave close to the end of the season when our lease expired. Summit season passes made it all worth the short time we were able to spend there. That's awesome to show your kids the area where you grew up!
Cool to hear! Yes it's a great place and glad you got to enjoy it for a while!
Welcome back to Colorado! Fun seeing you fish the same rivers I love fishing in! Can't wait for more content! It's been a minute!
Thanks Brian! You're lucky you get to fish those rivers regularly! Yeah I took a little break. But we are entering into the fishing season so I'm ready to get back. Thanks for the support as always!
This was awesome and enjoyable to watch. I appreciate you explaining as you go as far as what you're doing, what you're using, etc. That first brown on your pit stop was a brute! Beautiful! Looks like time well spent with the family too. We had a truck & camper when I was young growing up also. I have priceless memories of camping trips with my family, and hunting trips with my dad, uncle & cousins in that thing. Those were the days for sure! Thank you.
Thank you Noel! I think you need to come full circle and get a truck camper! They really are the best! Tight lines my friend!
Was up in Leadville and made my way up to Frisco Colorado was a beautiful place this weekend was fun didn’t catch any fish but this New Mexican has to learn will be back love your video

That stretch of the Arkansas river through Canon City is amazing for large browns. Fished through there a few times and I've never caught anything under 20" out of that river.

Hello! I just moved to Colorado to attend the USAF Academy and I have a passion for fly fishing! Thank you for the awesome video. Can you give me the setup you have? I am used to fishing in the Ozarks and I need some help. What size pole do you have and what time of year were you fishing? Again, thank you.
Nice!
Thanks Eathan!
Amazing video!!! What part of Colorado is the frying pan at where you guys were fishing??
Near the town of Basalt, not too far from Aspen.
Great video! Where did you get the seine net you used to catch the bugs? Thanks!
Hi Carson, mine is pretty old but here is a similar one. www.flyfishfood.com/products/wind-river-gear-entomology-kit?variant=40329061138631¤cy=USD&gclid=Cj0KCQjwuMuRBhCJARIsAHXdnqNFb-K1rzs9nzWhO9ZtFMpdYcacoLqwXgMPNG4JRIbbGlviat9Spj0aAqMOEALw_wcB
For the Fryin pan river what wieghtrig did you use?
Hey Fish Hunter, I've spoken with you before on here, I was wondering, did you fish the Roaring Fork at all when you were young? When I was a kid, we used to fish teh Roaring Fork in town (Aspen) and it was really good, for young teenagers at least, this would have been the late-70s. We were even in Aspen when Ted Bundy escaped from teh Pitkin County Jail. There was some big water fishing below town for good not great Rainbows, we also fished Hunter Creek for abundant nice Brookies, and we even snuck into Hallum Lake and caught big Brookies. I assume this is all either ruined by over-fishing of private these days. We also fished the Frying Pan but it wasn't good in the 70s.
Hi Charles, I fished it 1 or 2 times but that was about it. It's a gorgeous river though!
Great video. Awesome to see your kids getting into it as well
Thanks so much!!
Great vid! Can u tell me what series fishpond net you’re using

Missing your videos. I haven't seen a new one in some months. I hope you're out there fishing and making some new videos.
Thank you Donald! That really means a lot actually. I have a few filmed I just need to put them together. It's been a busy year with life, family, work, etc... but I'm excited to get going on these and to put out some more content. Thanks so much for the encouragement my friend!
How do you add the measure marks on your rod?
On my older rods I used a tiny paintbrush and painted the inches on the rod myself. Here's the product I use on my new rods. It works great. I start the measurement at 0" from the end of the rod and start the sticker just past the cork handle which is usually around the 10" mark. Works great for a quick accurate measurement. 👌

what all did you do to ur truck to carry that heavy camper?
The weight of the camper falls within the payload specs of the Ford F350 but I did install rear air bags to keep the truck from swaying. It rides great!
@@flyfishhunter whats the weight of that camper and the payload of ur truck?
Awesome! What state was the first river in?
Thanks Mike. Idaho
