I'm not sure why coach James went with Beno Bryant as the starting tailback that season, IMO Jay Berry would have been a better choice. Beno was a great kick returner, quick, fast, good vision, but not as strong of a runner as the much stronger Berry. If a defender even got a hand on Beno he was going down. But not Berry.

I don’t know about killing Miami. The Canes teams in that era were loaded and the game would’ve probably been played in the Orange Bowl.
