Hi fella , could you let me know which lazar cutter and 3d printer you use . Thanks luv the show !
Action man should be called charleston
I feel like he's a Wilson. Just sayin'.
Could you have the actual straps imbedded into the parachute deployment motor so when the motor burned out the strap will fall away and the. The parachute be wecged behind action man (I prefer clide) so when he is released the parachute is deployed automatically without the need for moving parts just a thought I did something like that in fireworks night to launch a second fierworck from the 1st and it worked without fail just an idea but pleas conceder
Please name him Jerry
He should be called Scott
"Scott action manly"
Pls dont.
I see what you did there
Sounds great
Brilliant. Made me laugh.

You should design a ejection port for your planes. In the event of a inevitable crash you can eject all your electronics!
Yeah who cares about the pilot when you can save the electronics
That could be interesting 😂
AIR BAGS
Was going to comment just the same, something helpful for heavier payloads that might be really expensive, like cameras and internal electronics!
Would also love to watch!
you could make a custom pcb (obviously with a sponsorship from pcb way) and all of the pins for the flight controllers, esc, batteries, etc could nicely slip out of the pcb that has connectors for the cables to the motors and servos/control surfaces and they would all be nicely packaged together and the parachuted down to safety.
edit: sorry if this is hard to follow im not the best at phrasing stuff lol
I feel like in the end, he’ll combine all of builds into a massive plane
that would be epic
Aircraft not plane Or if you must aeroplane
He did put a giant EDF on the table at the end and it's going to need to be in the air for the parachute to really do anything.
@@thirtythreeeyes8624 That EDF is one of two for the large Gloster Meteor model I'm building for part 2.
@@Project-Air That's gonna be a sick project can't wait to see it.

I approve of this name. Definitely not because it’s my own.
1:12 Looks like you are building a Gloster Meteor! Nice!
correct!
Please show us when you're done.. the meteor is my fave plane!
great vid! can’t wait to see the next! as far as ejection seats, i was the division officer for the AME/PR aircrew school for the US Navy. the Martin Baker ejection seat is an extremely technical and capable recovery system, with over 3000 parts, and a very tight operating envelope. successful ejections with the aircraft inverted at 100’ above the ground are possible. the loyalty, responsibility, dedication, traceability and professionalism of the AME/PR community is exceptional. actual ejections result in an instant and often life long bond between the pilot and aircrew who worked on their “seat”. aircrew will refer to an actual ejection event as “their ejection”, taking rightful ownership for having a direct role in saving the life of the pilot. there is even an “ejection tie club” which recognizes each successful ejection event. more than 6000 have been recorded since the seats creation back in 1957. each ejection event is studied and scrutinized by the community in an effort to improve and review possible upgrades/improvements. cheers!
Super cool to hear about your connection to Martin Baker! Thanks for commenting.
Thinking Char-lie might be appropriate 😁
you should call him boris!
Vote for Boris! czcams.com/video/QIjKijhv1OU/video.html
Richard Burns... Works with calling him "Dick" but also hints at what he goes through.
Classic
Ah go on go on go on
He looks british, I feel like Dick Stroker would be a fitting name. Sounds British to me
😂
Noooooo... If you go with this name, call him Richard Stroker, and when he introduces himself, have him say, "Richard Stroker, but you can call me Dick". That way his names Dick Stroker but it doesn't seem intentional.

I know you put a lot into this video and the effort shows and for that I just want to say thanks...
But for me the icing on the cake was the sound affect when action man hit the ground haha... just tickled my sides.
Cant wait for the next one
It’s always nice to get comments like this one, cheers!
I vote for Chuck!
(it's short, snappy and pays homage to one if the greatest test pilots of time..... Chuck Yeager)
First man to break the sound barrier
He'll also get chucked around a lot, so it's apt. I approve!
agreed
@@pacific200ngo *to break the sound barrier in level flight. Some germans in the 40s did break it in a dive (if I'm not mistaken).

I’ve been wanting this since I started in 84.. as a kid I thought parachutes were so cool and ejection seats even cooler.. this is the coup de grace when it comes to authentic RC flying. Well done mate!
Cool concept! Rarely can I say that an idea hadn't already crossed my mind. I've had a ton of ideas with similar items involved, save the seat. I look forward to watching this process unfold. Stay well James! Cheers
The burning of straps might not be the most consistent, but I don’t know.
Action man should definitely be named Chuck Yeager!
I love this channel so much!
1 day ago? What?
@@lucasmuller8082 I think it’s because he has patreon so he he gets early access to videos
@@JacobClarke661 that is correct. Thanks for explaining
Obviously he should be called Manny McManFace
Clearly
+1 from me
Ah yes the floor here is made out of floor
Action Man looks a bit like Chris Hadfield. Maybe you should name him Chris :)
Great video
Cool Project, cant wait for part 2. As for the release mechanism for the action man, how about placing a spring below him and then burning through the hold down straps? I imagine this could give a nice separation.
Keep up the great Work!
Great new project, looking forward to the next video
Hi, how about naming him after the famous Smokey & the bandit actor “Burnt Reynolds”
Regards Steve
Hi guys I made jarvis home automation project with lot of effort pls check it once 😃
I like your idea Steve
I was thinking adolf because that mustache is known worldwide
Names Turd Ferguson!
Burnt Reynolds is top shelf!
You got me good with that "OOF" not gonna lie
Liked before watching. Nice project!

This is such a cool project, you really outdid yourself this time!

and also very nice music man. very nice
Love this video so mutch keep on❤️
Name for the pilot? Bernie, of course!
Came to add this one. Or Bernd, if you like Germans.

Are you going to build a Gloster Meteor??
I am indeed
@@Project-Air What size? Will it be the T7?

Captain burnes. Grate video. Good job.
Great vid' ... Looks like an interesting project. How about the drone shoot pulling out a bigger shoot and having the 2 shoots active? Keep up the good work :)
For some reason the production quality feels especially good this video
Only 1 minute and 19 seconds, ive already decided that i like the channel and i'm going to subscribe.
Great video
I'm melting, I'm melting . . . Awesome lab.
Thanks mate, nice work
"crispy action man"
Crispin should be his name!
great idea, well done
Such a good idea to split so you can go into details !
Best use I've seen a T-Rex Action Man Put to so far!
He’s Mini Buster, obviously. Great project!
Very good idea 👍
I would recommend costing the cockpit area in aluminum foil especially in the vent holes. Might make it last longer. Great vid!
I love the protective fire sleeves!
Awesome video!
I'd name it Helmut, after Helmut Schenk, the first man to eject from an aircraft
Love your videos, keep it up :)
Thanks
Well this vid gives me another idea you could explore, an rc version of a rocket pack for your action man!
I like the detailed step by step show
this is rad!
Thanks for the tunes ☺️
I cant wait to nother episode 😄
Couldn't stop laughing, something amusing about adding rockets to a test figure awesome content once again 🤔😂😂👌
Good video 👍
Looking forward to the plane build and the ejection in the air
Your attempts demonstrate the complexity of a real ejection seat and the hours of trial and error that went into developing it. Really enjoyed the video
Nice idea. I used to fly model rockets when I was a kid. I would have loved to have access to all of the things that are available today. I would like to throw in my 2 cents worth and say that it is great that you got it to work with 4 1/2 A engines, I think back to Albert Einstein who said "Simplify, simplify, simplify'." I would like to suggest to you to see if there was some way to use 1 rocket engine and have deployable fins to keep the "pilot" stable during ejection. Maybe some weight at the bottom to dampen rotational movements. Keep up the good work.
This was cool
I love this so much. Agreed the small charge at the top of estes rocket motors should trigger the release, possibly not by burning through anything though as this wouldn't be 100% reliable.
I prefer this format
You should make the belts for Action Man be held down with little plugs that go into the top space on the engines. That way when the backwards charges go off you don't have to rely on something burning correctly, and can use the belts multiple times.
You should rejig this to support a gopro or other high value component that you might put on your plane. Then you can set it off if you are ever going down and have a better change of recovering your expensive gear without damage.
Man... this guy is so Genius 👍👍
The action man
Bob
I’d call him Roberto (from 2 fast 2 furious, the “ejecto seato cuz” scene)
I'm so glad you only used a volenteer in the ejection seat!
Call him Martin for Martin-Baker! Your video was posted by them (Martin-Baker) With praise on their Facebook account.
Harold hawking the action man!
It’s got to be “Dangerous Brian” 👍
awesome vid
Thank you
Low-key want that action man
I love this chanell à lot😇
Putting things up part by part is a really good idea. It reminds me of Agile Development in the software field, which SpaceX has been successfully using to help them develop Starship.
“Up Chuck” a nod to all the tumbles he’s doing in the trials.
Poor old pilot suffering burns like that ! not an easy project but you are getting there James, how about 'Ejectasid' ?
Looks like your building a Canberra! epoxy resin over the ejection charges too for pilot safety. I would use a short electronic timer on an arduino linked to a chair servo release for the pilot. It could use the acceleration from the ejection rockets to trigger the timer.
It is immensely easy to remove an ejection charge from an Estes motor. You won't have to worry about mitigating unwanted pyrotechnics. (Outside,) simply use a piece of dense pointy plastic and scrape out the clay cap and ejection charge and smoke compound. The engine propellant is densely packed in the casing and you will not remove any unintentionally. You can then add a 1/8 inch cap to the back of the casing using 5min epoxy to maintain compression once the charge is removed. Bonus, you can save the black powder from the extracted charge for other projects such as flash-in-the-pan multi-engine ignition.
By the way, it is possible to make a two-cascade rescue system like in the KT-1M 9 (although there are three) by simply using the waiting, as I do in my chair, or vice versa "manual" entry, that is, after the chair leaves the aircraft, and the introduction of a stabilizing parachute, using a servo machine to unbuckle the pilot's harness and fix the first parachute, which, after detaching from the chair, being attached to the main parachute, will pull it out and free the pilot, but it should be borne in mind that the weight of the chair will then increase significantly with the use of a service, battery, paddle.
Brave Dave, stuntman dan or little Rick are my favoroutes
Those oofs made me laugh so hard idk why
Awesome
You might be able to pipe the parachute charge from a larger rocket if it was a craft that you want the seat to always end up outside the craft. like with the gps if you couldn’t ensure a smooth enough landing or expensive parts like a go pro so the plane can be landed without worry of breaking anything expensive. Idk I’m sure someone can find a use but it seems like it would have almost the perfect amount of gas to expel the load from the aircraft.
You could try putting the rocket motors into tubes with a flammable thread across the top and fitted with a deflector to direct the ejection charge away from the arms. When the thread burns it could release the action man from the seat restraints when he could then be ejected by a spring or some compressed foam.
A ballistic recovery system would be cool too, and maybe even be a bit easier that an ejection seat.
Mike Patey did one in his real aircraft so you can see how it works exactly in his videos.
I enjoyed watching this. My main question .....I guess Action man had no say in continuing the flight tests ?
Your so underrated
We need more action man........
He is action man......no modification needed
This is something I didn’t know I needed in my life...
chad the man
that's what he should be called!
Hugh Stash .... you are in safe hands when a test pilot has a Stash =D
Few important things, your model seem to be missing:
1. Real ejection seats often have a telescopic guiding rail, which helps to direct the seat during the active phase of ejection.
2. The parachute is usually attached to the pilot, but stored in the seat (quite often - inside the seat headrest). After about 1,5-2 seconds the seat belts are detached by pyro-bolts, the pilot falls out of the seat and parachute is opened automatically by being pulled out by the seat, falling away. This could be modeled by the model rocket motor parachute charge and it's delay, which would initiate the seat detachment.
3. The flight of the seat would, probably, be more stable, if the rockets were attached above the seat CG.
Number 3. No. That's even got a name it's called the rocket fallacy.
The mustache kind of reminds me of Man-at-arms from He Man 😂
3:55 he do be flying tho 😂😂
Majestic Moustache Man
There seems to be room for the motors to be clustered under the seat as in full-scale MB seats. was there a reason for mounting the motors on each side of the seat?
