Are Turkish Trains Any Good? (Konya to Ankara BUSINESS CLASS) 🇹🇷

- We've visited quite a few cities in Turkey now and up until now, we've always flown. Most budget airlines in Turkey generally charge $30-$50 USD for a oneway flight to another city. However after this experience we will be taking the train whenever possible. We had no intention on travelling 'business class' (normally called first class throughout Europe) but when we discovered it was only a $1 to upgrade we had to 'lash out' as Hannah said.
There is also free WI-FI on board and for unknown reasons the Cafe was closed.

Train or bus travel in Turkey is a great service. Clean, cheap and reliable. You can have nice days in Ankara and maybe from there to Cappadocia. The youtubers "wild viking travel" and "Tread the globe" are there too. Maybe you can get great tips from them. Very nice video of you👍😊
It sure is, couldn't believe how affordable it was for us. Thanks for the reccomendations we will check them out, so many places to visit! Thanks for watching! :)
Do you think it's too cheap for us? At the expense of fire
Nice one you two, I think we almost bumped into each other!🤠
Thanks guys, that would have been an awesome surprise! Maybe one day! :)
Train was worth the upgrade. Great job with the tour. It does look brand new. Leg room is always a great bonus. Like the way they do the tvs.
Thanks for the kind words guys! Yeah it was pretty neat set up! :)
Ooooo the train looks so nice!!!! 😍😍😍

Thanks Muhammad nice to have you in the comments again! :)
Almost to 700 subs!!! Keep grinding guys!! This train looked really nice and we LOVED the extra security. We've said the same exact thing before. There needs to be more, it's worth an extra 5 minutes of my time to feel safe.
Hahaha thank you guys, getting there slowly! 100% agree, the security checks were incredibly fast as well. Thanks again for your continued support! :)
@@hgworldtour you guys are growing and continuing to push out great content. Our channel seems to be slower recently. Frustrating at times!
Keep chipping away! :)

Hello Bledar! Thank you, we will post a video about it! :)
Again a nice and interesting travel Vlog wish you filmed the Toilets to and maybe the Economy Class but its very Interesting and soooooo cheap )))
Greetings! Thanks for watching. Yes next time we will do a full train review. I wish train travel was this cheap everywhere lol :)
Board restaurants on YHT high speed trains are currently closed due to covid, hence no service.
I am a bit surprised that you embarked from the old railway station for conventional trains in Konya, since there is a new high speed train station in operation, along the same route, since 2020. Do you recall if you made a stop at that station?
Hello Loccus, yes we figured that. We have been on a few trains since we filmed this video and all restaurants are shut. Yes we were wondering about that, it did say we could get on at either stop but we were staying closer to the old railway station. We stopped at the new station, I remember keeping any eye out for it, I would say most people got on at the older station though. Thanks for watching :)
now they are opening an other route, all the way to Istanbul Ankara to Sivas ,2 years later Ankara to Izmir opening
Thanks for letting us know :)
A very good train and good shot video
Thank you kindly Shahbaz! Very nice train :)
Business class is about 6.50USD :) and the economy price is about 4.50USD.Still cheap though.
Thanks for the update! Yes still very affordable for tourists! :)

Is there a check in time for the trains?
Cool
Thanks Addie! :)
Oh wow you two ride train
We sure did! Thanks for watching :)
Wooow amazing
Thanks Muhammad! :)
Thank you for the informative video. What is the COVID situation like in Turkey? I am planning to visit but am a little scared due to the virus and being in contact with so many people.
Hello Hira, there aren't many restrictions left in Turkey, daily cases are about 20-25k. If you are scared of being in contact with people I would stay away from Istanbul and perhaps try one of the cities on the coast :)
@@hgworldtour thank you! :)
This train looks like a ICE 3 😂😂😂
Well noticed! Thanks for watching! :)
Yes same model...Siemens Velaro D train
Well spotted! :)
@@hgworldtour no Problem! I found your channel with your Videos in Poland! I wanted to Show how your video is, because I do travel reports too, and than I saw that there are a lot of nice video, so I subscribe
Hey i have plan soon. .thinking to take high speed train from konya to istanbul. Is it worth it ? Just few queries.. what abt food ? Is it availabe or have to bring from outside lol , or its paid menu ?
Plus what abt washrooms .
Hey Imran. Washrooms were fine and you could bring food on the train.
Good luck
Greetings Oussama! Thank you :)
Hey mate. Totally off topic. What editing suit do you use for your vids? Cheers :) 🍻
Hey Nino, hope you're well! I just use iMovie to edit, hope to invest in Final Cut if this channel gets a bit bigger. I think the main difference is that in Final Cut you can upload videos to CZcams in 4K. Thinking about uploading some videos mate?
@@hgworldtour thanks for the reply mate. You guys make gr8 vids. Well done! As for me, I’ve just put up a green house with the worst instructions ever written. My wife said I should do a CZcams vid on how to assemble it with associated tips 🤷♂️. I’ve a few dodgy clips on my channel from years ago but I’ll give ‘movie’ a crack. Cheers mate & hope you’re both settling in ok.
All good mate, appreciate your support! LOL sounds fun! That is an awesome idea, let us know when you upload it. The videos that have done the best on our channel so far are generally the 'how to' videos, so I'm sure there will be many people that appreciate a proper tutorial on how to assemble this green house. Cheers mate, really enjoying it here! :)
We're your 6th sub, so we'll be ready for when you upload it :)
@@hgworldtour 😂👍 I’ll make a different channel though just for gardening. Won’t attach it to mine.
Sis am literally jealous of u 🤪
Thanks for watching Isaq! :)
Really am jealous of u that country is damn beautiful 🤪🔥
It sure is Isaq, a massive country to explore! :)
Hey guys, can you tell which station between Sogutlucesme and Pendik is closest to Sultanahmet? What would be your recommendation to get to either? Thanks
Hey neha , Söğütlüçeşme is definitely closer , you ride marmaray from there to sirkeci station ( 2 stations )and walk ( 15 minutes walk ) or ride the tram ( 2 stations ) to sultan Ahmet , dont do pendik its far far away , best if luck .
Regarding baggage checks, this is done with long-distance services in Spain. I understand it was following the 2004 terrorist attacks, even though these targeted local trains.
China's way of doing things is even more intense. First you have to go through a ticket/ID check. Then you have to go through a baggage check before reaching the departure hall. Then to go down to the platform, you have to go through an automatic ticket gate. At the other end, you have to use your ticket to go through one more ticket gate to exit.
Thanks for the update, wasn't aware of this for Spain. I'm assuming the Turkish baggage checks were due to 2016? Or perhaps even earlier. I agree about China, it was quite full on. However I would prefer to have the baggage checks done as it gives everyone more peace of mind. Thanks for your input! :)
@@hgworldtour, I don't know the situation with Turkey. I wouldn't say I am particularly worried about terrorist attacks on trains, but they mean you have to arrive earlier. I tend to arrive at Spanish stations several minutes before departure and I tend to leave up to 30 minutes for Chinese high-speed stations.
Have you travelled on the Spanish high-speed system next? This is by far the longest network in Europe and it is set to grow even further, probably in December, when several improvements are due to go into service.
China is also great for high-speed travel. There are various high-speed routes with breathtaking scenery, e.g. Wuhan-Guangzhou and Shangrao-Fuzhou.
There was quite a bit of trouble in 2016, many attacks nation wide. Haven't travelled on any high-speed trains in Spain, just on the metro system. Sounds very exciting so we will need to check it out. Thanks for this information. I will also conduct some research on the high-speed trains in China! :)
nice trip
Thank you! :)
Nice video
Thank you for watching Hamza! :)

You didn't tell how long did it take ?
Just under 2 hours :)
@@hgworldtour how 2 hours? I took it twice and it took 1:45 hours
