A very nice video. We are in Istanbul right now and are going to Eskisehir in three days. You inspired us because Eskişehir was not planned in our trip 👍🔆
Wow! Didn't know Turkey had gondolas. What a treat. Look at you complimenting the clarinet player in Turkish. The gold statue of the futboler is really cool. That blue bridge is nice!
As an Eskişehir citizen, I am very pleased with your visit :)) The reason why we have military aircraft is that Eskişehir has one of the two largest military air bases in Turkey. (training fly etc.) But you didn't go to Sazova Park. :( Turkey's Disney in Eskişehir: Sazova.
@@hgworldtour You're welcome, Hope you come back to the "City of Universities and Theaters" :)) And winter times, Eskişehir is frozen, just like Winterfell😂

That statue (man in a hole) reminded me of Bratislava, Slovakia! They also have one like that 😁😁 I’ll stop, I don’t want somebody to come and tell me, “don’t compare Bratislava with that rathole” 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Excellent video guys!! I’m finally catching up on your last videos since I haven’t had the chance these last days ❤️❤️
Yes I have seen this, I think it's called the sewer worker LOL! Hahahaha it's always a touchy topic when you compare one city with another. Time always goes soooo quickly at the end of Summer! We have to watch your take on Eskisehir! I think the last video we watched was your Istanbul Kart video. We were both laughing at the yellow ticket machines, the first time we were in Istanbul I think we spent 15 minutes trying to get a Kart out of the yellow machines!
I'm glad you wandered around my hometown guys. I don't know if you heard about Efendy and Anason restaurants in Sydney. The owner of them is from Eskişehir :) And one last thing, why didn't you go to Sazova Castle in Eskişehir :(
Hello Emirhan, we are from Melbourne however when we next make it to Sydney we will need to check these out, I hope they are Turkish restaurants! We will need to visit the Sazova Castle next time! :)
Eskisehir is a very nice city known for being one of the most student-friendly cities in Turkey. They have three large universities and therefore had quite a large student population pre-covid (not sure how things are atm). Also, I believe the statues are thanks to their famous mayor (currently serving his 5th term) who himself is a vax sculptor.
Greetings Murat, yes I have heard there's quite a few students that are in Eskisehir. Thanks for letting us know about the statues, they really made the city an interesting and unique place! Thanks for watching :)
5:00 grew up in Eskisehir in the mid eighties and early nineties; the fighter jets were part of daily life and the fabric of the skies that I pretty much never paid attention.
5:14 hey gordon! I live in Eskisehir. 1st main jet base command is located in Eskişehir. That's why dozens of fighter aircrafts fly over the city everyday, some days people can't hear each other for almost half an hour. i understand you! The periodic ear-piercing screech of fighter jets overhead, Noise from the military aircraft exercises unbearable, it is annoying
Hey guys, about the F-16s i want to add something. The airbase is the main reason. However, the other reason can be the Great Offensive (Büyük Taarruz) Celebrations. It begins 26th August and the Victory Day 30th August. Have fun!
Thanks for letting us know Yusuf! We assumed there was a base near by however we weren't sure if they always flew over like this! Thanks for watching! :)
Eskisehir later became the site of Turkey’s first aviation industry, as well as an aeronautical supply maintenance center on NATO’s southern flank during the Cold War.
Hi, i want to know, is there any luggage storage in eskishir train station? I'm planning to short visit eskisehir about 6-7 hour during my trip from ankara to istanbul. A bit troublesome if i carry my luggage anywhere
@@hgworldtour no worries. I did my military service in that base in 1989-90. On the bus route to Ankara and Konya when you exit the city, you could've seen the big Eagle status. Just a " blah" city, nothing like Istanbul or Izmir. Someone dares compare it to Venice in Italy, oh please. This Sehir is just more than a village. Amsterdam ? You are kidding me
What on earth are you talking about? We didn't even mention Izmir in the entire video and we only mentioned Istanbul to compare it's distance to Ankara, which is where we came from. Surely you can understand that when ANY CITY offers gondola rides a link to Venice would be made. I said it reminded me of Amsterdam AND Hamburg because of all the different types of bridges. Anyway, thanks for watching.
@@hgworldtour You didnt mention Izmir but I mentioned having been to both places ( Istanbul and Izmir ) and watching this video I can only say this Eskisehir is just a village. You can't compare Venice to any rathole that has a gondola ride, sorry.
@@ellisonevers9127 Eskisehir is a really nice and modern city, without the crazy tourist crowds of Venice. It does have a German vibe and many beautiful parks, much friendlier and kinder people than anywhere else, without the ugly slums on barren hills of İzmir too.
