THE VERY BEST OF ANKARA - TURKEY'S CAPITAL CITY

  • The very best of Ankara is exploring Turkeys capital city! (Türkçe Altyazılı Seçebilirsiniz)
This feature length documentary film (well, longer than our usual films ;)) includes many of Ankara's best sites and places to visit.
Its packed with information about everything, from dining, night life, hotels, museums, shopping, the best ways to get round the city and more!
This was Trudie's first time to the city and it definitely wont be her last.
It was good to know you can get direct flights from Dalaman airport to Ankara and be there in an hour!
With temperatures being cooler in this region compared to the South of Turkey, especially during July and August, its a city break that is well worth doing and is often overlooked.

Some facts about Anıtkabir: If you look close there are 80 vases around the tomb of ATATURK. In each vase there are some soil of each city of Turkey. Just not one city and that’s because it’s became a city after Anitkabir was made. He actually wanted them before he went to sleep peacefully. And one more: On your way to Anitkabir (there’s a long way that you can’t go with any vehicle you actually have to walk, it’s called the lion way (Aslanli yol) )the way isn’t just an ordinary path. There are space between each stone so you have to look at your feet to see where you’re stepping. So that when you look at your feet you’re actually bowing to honor of ATATURK and remembering all the soldiers died in the war for their homeland. And I love that you are spreading Turkish culture to whole world. Keep up the good work. I’m from Ankara and I couldn’t even think of a better film for Ankara.

Both of you have an incredible and unique way in presenting just about anything with fantastic results for us the viewers. Ankara, looks magnificent and historically interesting.
I would venture to say that Turkey is one of the most underrated country in the world.

I don’t know whether you fully understand what I meant by my comment. I will explain better.
There are many people around the world that when they dream about going on holidays, the first thought that comes to mind is EUROPE because of its history, culture, food beaches etc. and what I’m saying is ,although Turkey gets its share of tourism,I believe that it should get a hell of a lot more because of its natural beauty, culture, history, food, the friendliness of the people and its unbelievable Riviera. I’ve been there and I’ve experienced it first hand. I hope my explanation clears the air rather than you perhaps thinking that I was being critical. I love Turkey so much that I’m actually contemplating retiring there.

@@mmusssa shame on you because you believe nonsense you hear from here and there. As you can tell i know other languages, not just turkish and i search history from every article and book i can find. But most importantly, i have respect for the great Mustafa Kemal Atatürk who is the founder of this country. I hope you gain respect in the future somehow. But until then, shame on you.

I've been living in ankara for 9 years and still haven't seen it all, so I've played this to my husband and told him to take me to some of them 😂. Another fantastic video film Mick 👍

Lovely video. Ankara is often underrated and overlooked yet you guys have done it justice. I've been living in Ankara for over 12 years and I haven't seen all the museums yet. I think it's about time I did a bit of a museum tour. Great Turkish by the way. 👍🙂
