    • @p0llk4t07
      @p0llk4t07 Před 5 měsíci +15

      @@IAmJekaI believe 155 is the first level a crash state can be reached...after that there are various different crash's that can happen all the way up to level 255 and if a human could get that far and avoid all the crash states from level 155 to 255 the game actually resets and starts from the beginning! The Tetris community figured all this out by breaking down the game code and programming bots to do perfect runs...to say these guys are dedicated is an understatement...
      So this run here was trying to get the game to crash on the first possible place which is like 155...Scuti missed the first crash opportunity on his play and got the crash at level 157...
      No doubt these guys will come up will a bunch of new ways to keep pushing...like fastest to hit crash state or highest score before crash or see how many levels they can get through while avoiding the crash...

      I think when he heard that Scuti was about to beat the game he stopped his current attempt at that time and excitingly went to watch Scuti beat Tetris.
      That showed me where his heart is that although being able to do it first is great he's still happy to witness the game to be beaten for the first time even though not by him 😊.
      The sportsmanship shown by high-level players of the game is surely nice to witness and the game finally being beaten would surely bring in new players in their journey to beat the game at the highest level 😮.

      If you happen to not be familiar with these, these are the names of the Glitched Colors. Eventually, when going into Tetris long enough, you will encounter the Glitched Colors. These colors represent a stage where the color palette changes from the 10 already made into glitched ones. These colors were never meant to be in the game, and Nintendo never even saw it coming, since they never expected anyone to ever get this far.

      Not sure how long that will take, at least on Vanilla NES Tetris.
      It gets progressively harder to avoid crashing the game during the last 100 levels of tetris, and it would be not only a test of skill and memorization, but it would also likely require a lot of RNG with the pieces.
      On the Modded version of Tetris most pros use, however, it's certainly a possibility, and I think we could see someone get it this year.

    • @janzwendelaar907
      @janzwendelaar907 Před 5 měsíci +67

      @@MaxHumphreysMaxHumphreys according to the crash route, there are actually quite a few levels that are completely safe. One of which is 800 lines.
      To me it seems that the biggest challenge is switching from "singles will kill the game" which happens between 155-164 to "singles are the only safe line clear" for the remainder of the levels is the big challenge.
      The 800 lines level is luckily very playable.
      People have managed no hit runs of the entire soulsbourne series, which lasted 16 hours, given enough motivation, people will beat level 255.
      That said, if nobody attempts it, it'll take years for it to happen, but if Dog, Andy, Scuti and Fractal keep at it, I see it happening sooner, rather than later to be honest.
      The only thing stopping it, would be the community deciding that efficiency before 155 is the way to go and to let the game die intentionally at that point.

      Yet throughout all of this, the game is still playable. Once you've cleared all these hurdles, finally the colour glitch and the crash glitch mash together into one final amalgamation of errors to try and stop you, before you get back to level 0 in complete silence and everything is back to normal.

    I only began diving into this scene with the first game crash but I just want to say I already have so much respect for you and Blue Scuti. Practice, dedication, community driven progress, friendly competition, a simple premise that unveils its infinite complexities the more you push its limits, things once thought not just impossible but 2 steps beyond impossible then being done. This, stories like these is to me in its purest form is what it is to be human.

    It's like driving a racing car.
    Spectators feel that the car is so fast but the driver can control it at ease and turn whatever he wants.

    Jesus Christ dude, this is a joy to watch. You must have practiced so hard for this to happen.
    I couldn't be happier for you, really to have caught the popular eye as well.
    Fully justified and deserved acclaim, in an age of pointless TikToks. This is AMAZING.

    Watching this, watching how fast everything is happening was so anxiety inducing, especially when the bricks got higher and higher... I remember what that news chick said about beating Tetris not being anything special. Only someone who has never played Tetris would downplay how good one must be to do what you did! Good job, my man!!!
