this is easily the most remarkably directed horror film I have ever seen. it's not easy to make someone feel the chills, the disgust and the pure horror with zero jump scares. the colours were brilliant, the acting was phenomenal and the camera work was amazing. if you are into cinematography, this is a must watch.

there were some jump scares in the beginning, with the sisters in the dark room, but i think it was played for laughs, and made a joke out of it. Brilliant.

It's almost impossible to believe this was Ducornau's directorial debut. It's such a mature and well developed film that it seems the work of a more experienced director. Outstanding.
It's a surprisingly great movie. I thought it was going to be some gory, nasty, shitty horror flick, but it turned out it has a real good story.

And many people needed to rush out the cinema place thing to puke, and very many left the cinema itself. It was in the news. :) So I guess it's rather gross if THAT many people disliked it that badly.

You really should, I've seen it 3 times already. It's a horror movie but it also has a brilliant teen vibe, it's as disturbing as funny.
It's everything you expect from a beautiful, sincere, visceral movie.
I'm so proud to be French when I see those kind of productions, that seem more like the British ones (they KNOW how to make horror movie).

I download stuff myself but when it comes to that kind of rare movies, you really should pay for it (in a theater because it's way more powerful) or online. Because you should know that in France, it's a miracle this movie exists: it's really difficult to produce a horror movie here, and even more when you're a woman. It's really a miracle this movie exists, we should support this...
So please, if you can, don't download it illegally, or if you do and liked it, please buy it afterwards.
But you really should see it in a theater, it's more interesting and powerful !

Saw it on Netflix and I loved it! Raw is a great blend of horror and coming-of-age that is bloody, shocking and emotional, and I recommend all film buffs to give this a shot! 9/10

A movie that really lives up to it's title on all fronts
Brings up the cannibalism subject present in our culture for ages. Many questions answered in this movie of how it can happen. No imaginary zombies and vampire crap type of movie. This is the real deal and people saying its not worth a watch. Movie is a masterpiece. You can all go watch Ginger Snaps which has nearly nothing related to this movie. Its no horror, more of a psychological/psychedelic thriller.

38 minutes in and I'm bored, came to see the trailer to get an idea of what it is all about but I think I will pass on this movie.
This film has genuine disturbing moments and a brilliant ending that essentially explains everything it's a slow burn but a masterful one if you think it's bad because it's slow then go watch some generic jump scare horror film :)

Interesting story, cleverly developed, good handheld camera, great music, sexy leading lady, no splatter garbage, not a real horror movie, surprising punchline at the end. I recommend the original French version (with subtitles).

just saw it, the film is a must see, if your stomach can handle it.. after having seen countless horror movies from around the world, i have to admit, if you want to see good supernatural horror movies, the place to look are Japan, and maybe new zealand.. but if you want a good psychological thriller europe should be your destination, especially France with films like, "high tension" "inside me" and now this great gem..a must see.

Yes it is a "Coming of age". It pertains on the protagonist's emotional side, and as a vegan freshman student who went through different things although unusually. The eating raw meat part is just the twist. But metaphorically, it is relatable to teens.

Dear god what's happening in France.
The movie is real gritty, and very original. Mid way through I was thinking how fucking great it would be if a network took this story and remade it into an R rated TV drama. This would be more epic than any vampire show. Raw really is an interesting coming of age vampire/cannibal creature movie. Its so surreal and shocking, far more vivid than any vampire television show, for it emphasizes the horrors of a young woman evolving into a biological form she has no understanding of, creating a unique perspective on a coming of age creature struggling to hold on to what she believes is humanity.
The first season should keep the same tone and premise, the second season should add a more dark comedic vibe since we would be admiring the sick characters by then.
