If that's all you've taken away from this video Giuseppe, I urge you to watch the first 10 minutes again. This video is telling you that there are photos everywhere all you need to do is go out and find them. It's up to you how much post processing you do but what really matters is your ability to use your imagination, skills and may be a little luck :)
Gavin is a genius. I have gone through so much on youtube but I actually think this Channel is all I need to improve my photography. Most people are showing that they are good, talking too much but teaching nothing. Gavin on the other hand - teaches you all you need to know. Very Quickly.
You have no idea how happy I am that you asked that. I added the graffiti in Adobe After Effects CC using it's amazing 3D Tracking ability... which took considerably longer then 15 minutes to master ;-)
i remember some of the first videos i saw of yours several years ago : i seemed to have finally seen what you were saying because so many gaps were being filled along the way over the years . it's like hiding and people can't see you, i couldn't have got it. it has been years of study now : it goes far beyond cameras also__ its all the things the camera is capturing that's apart of the photography_ what the camera is captures ! i feel blessed
Thanks Gavin. Your videos are always fun to watch, because you aren't standing there like a schlub, lecturing at us, you're out there having fun doing what you do, and we just happen to be along and get to hear you puttering around. Thanks again, and stay safe. jonesey65244
Guiseppe, ALL raw files need a certain amount of post-processing, how far you want to take it is entirely your choice. And if you shoot jpeg, the camera does the post-processing for you. Another top video, Gavin! Cheers.
You get more noise on longer exposures and 10-15 mins is VERY long. You can reduce the colour noise in Lightroom / ACR in Photoshop. Jump over to the Detail section and increase the Color Noise Reduction slider.
Set the AEB to take three photos (press the set button). Switch the camera to 2 second self timer. Press the shutter and away it goes... after two seconds of course ;-)
I always love your upbeat way of teaching. I also shoot Cannon, and the 60D has turned out to be my favorite because of the flip screen. It allows for some very interesting angles, and your not guessing at the shot because your seeing them with live view. Great , fun video Gavin !
Thank you Gavin! I enjoy your videos quite a lot. If you take the joy away from any profession, it becomes dull. You are quite the opposite lol. I love how you present it. Keep it up man :)
Again great stuff. I to love Rust and Rust staining.Nice. It would be cool to see another video done on the beach but with completely different styles of shots.Loved this one.=)
I enjoy these and I encourage my photography friends to do the 15 minute challenge. I've been doing them for a couple of years and it has made me a better photographer. And I also think Gavin needs to run at least once in every video, maybe slow it down and put a Chariots of Fire song behind it...Thank you Gavin for your video's.
Gavin that was great! You get better and better, your enthusiasm is infectious. I always enjoy your creativity too. x Thank you :) Quite an energetic challenge that one.. :)))
A lot of the famous photos old school photographers did dodging, burning, pushing, pulling and a host of other methods that is the equivalent of layers and filters that we have in pp software. Heck - even film choice was a post processing decision because that influenced the look and feel. You still needed the fundamentals. The key is - what is my vision when i took this pic? It is a FALLACY that the image at the point of capture (digital or film) is the purest way to express our vision.
I think for advanced amateurs and enthusiasts the 60D is a heck of a camera. It has just the right amount of pro features and capabilities for one to grow with. The articulated screen allows one to get shots that would have been much harder to get and makes self portraiture and group shots easier to do. I recommend to people who are buying their first dSLR to look hard @ the 60D @ current prices over any Rebel. Add Magic Lantern and that's gravy. The 70D has me thinking of upgrading though :-).
I'd Love to kick back and have a pint with ya'....as long as we didn't overdo, we wouldn't get placed in the nic ! Such great info....really helps me, and I appreciate what you do for all of us.
:-) subtle way to put it... focus, technique, the composition, light and story has to be there. Photoshop is just your "dark room" where you develop them. He has great simple tricks that you can implement to better even more your photos.
This was a reminder in this video: learning how to see the world and scout it out for the photo : well it doesn't work like that in a way until you learn things thru experience, I wanted to capture a scene a landscape then realize it took skill to paint the picture in a photo : ___i mean it can take a long time to get the photo you thought you could get: if you don't know how to listen to a very good teacher : just taking a photo of the pier was a mountain to climb for me ? i still haven't taken it yet so i don't know if i can produce what i envision in my mind yet,_ if it's the right pier (real art)
I love watching these vids, it shows there is a picture almost everywhere, you just need to carefully compose and farme the shots. What I think would really help though is to see a pre-processing picture as well (maybe alongside the final image). Just my thoughts...Subscribe
I wish an Adorama shop could open here in South Africa, where real people work. Unlike the stalls here in the eastern region that think they are shops!
One of the best videos in Adorama TV so far!, at least for me
If that's all you've taken away from this video Giuseppe, I urge you to watch the first 10 minutes again.

Thank you Gavin! I enjoy your videos quite a lot. If you take the joy away from any profession, it becomes dull. You are quite the opposite lol. I love how you present it. Keep it up man :)

Gavin you are the best by far. Love your videos :)
Brilliant video Gavin, I was wondering how did the sea shore and texture shots turn out in post production?. Cheers.
This is a really nice video! Thanks
I've not tried it but 50-150mm wouldn't work for me. I tend to shoot landscapes at a wider angle e.g. 16-40mm
Love the pics!
Love your vids Gavin
thanks Gavin.
Great video
Very good video! Tut on PS was awsome aswell! :)
Could you please do more videos using simple objects for photography, just like the one with the light bulb?. Thanks a lot.
great shots ...thanks man
I'd love to review the Canon 70D... If I could just find someone who can convince Canon to work with me on that idea.
very nice :) thank you
