I was in a small boat once out on the edge of the Gulf of Mexico. We were catching speckled trout. I hooked a big one on a shadrig...fought him for a while....then as I pulled him up out the water he was only half a fish. Then bammmm! A shark attacked our boat. I looked at my buddy and said, "Now would be a good time to find a new spot bro."

In machine shops they tell you when you're learning, "just remember, you're the softest thing in this room" and i feel like this is somehow applicable to this shark in this situation.

Just what is very very impressive here in this particular video recording ~ is that the very quick movements, and aquatic charging-forces of the sharks impact, really did impressively "move and rock" those two large, heavy and ungainly .... Outboard boat engine's around effortlessly!!! which anyway, probably ~ weigh in at somewhere between three and four hundred pounds ~ each!!!

Agree somehow, but I miss out on seeing any kinda blood in the water saying the shark got teeth pulled or skin hurt 🤔
Also not much water movement not on the side of the boat and neither behind the engines before attack. It's in neutral and shark tryed to "kill" the prop on the engine, with spins is my bet here.

I hope it didn't bend your propellers or damage to the lower end of those engines! I hit something and put a bend in my single 220HP mercury propeller. The boat shook and vibrated so bad I thought B.O.A.T. Bust out another thousand. Luckily, I just needed a new prop. Good luck 🤞 and I hope there's no damage to your beautiful 🛥

after an encounter with a tiger shark in Hawaii some years ago, I realized if they are going to bite you there is just not a hell of a lot you can do about it.. only by the grace of God I didn’t die, but it damn near broke my legs. They are so strong and agile and fast like you can’t imagine…
I got some blacktips' awhile back, one was a bull, he took 30 minutes to catch. I heard hammerhead sharks can take 8-12hrs to wear down.

A friend of mine, a few years ago I had a great white come up and bite the stern of his kayak and flip him out into the water. It was right off seal rock near Cowles Beach and luckily a lot of surfers came out and helped him get back into the boat. he still goes out there every day. Not a easy guy to dissuade.

There is a magnetic field or something that causes sharks to do this. Years and years ago, my cousin was fishing for kingfish. He said that his outboard would get attacked. Not the kingfish he was reeling in, but the lower unit. There are studies where they change the polarity in an area where sharks are. They turn on the machine and the sharks would change direction 90 degrees. Turn it back off, and they would resume their initial path.
