How to replace Volvo Parking Brake / Handbrake Shoes and springs on S60, S80, V70, XC70, XC90

In this video you can find out how to replace Volvo S60 same as S80, V70, XC70, XC90 handbrake shoes and springs easy. How to adjust handbrake cables and how to refresh old brake disc. Also you can reuse old springs if they are in good shape.
Pro tip is to remove both sides brake discs and than work with one side, if it gets complicated you can watch to other side as example.

Nice and great video GetWork. Just a little tip. it should be a small amount of locktite in the bolt, and there also should be the red one and not the blue.

Thanks! I don't know much about different brands of threadlockers but which I use works best this way, I never had problems with unscrewing, bigger amount seals thread and they never rust out. But yeah sometimes I overkill with that :-D

Does the handbrake have an automatic adjuster on the shoes? Usually one slackens the cable, sets up the handbrake shoes, adjusting tight then 2-3 clicks back ensuring the brakes don't bind, then adjusting the cable to give the right amount of feel at the lever/pedal.

My 06 failed road test (mot) today with new rear discs, pads and shoes.. Volvo parts Belfast got me V70 shoe adjusters to fit instead of the fixed bar,£40 for both sets instead of £88+ each for 2 hand brake cables!
