I had a coin shop ring up generic silver ounces as 90% half dollars. When he told me the total, I let him know that it was about 300$ less than it should be. I paid him the correct price and he gave me a really nice morgan as a thank you.

I commend your honesty, and the fact you pointed it out will ensure they correct the error on any others they will sell. I don't know if it is where I am, but deals are very hard to find here. I dont even look at the big bullion company's products now. So my purchasing of silver has slowed a considerable amount.
❤my LCS. (One of them is a ripoff, one is great) But I buy there even if it’s a little more expensive than eBay, because they need to stay in business.
I get sick of local places that mark stuff up well beyond what it should be... Just because you're selling local doesn't mean you can charge 2 to 3 times what it costs online.

i have a fondness for my LFS(tropical fish) and give them more than they expect to keep them in biz. i also donate my extra grow outs to them rather than throwing it away. they need every cent..

Did your LCS call the customer they bought them from to say they owed him more money? Or did they pay him 90% of spot x 1oz, and now they’re getting 120% of spot x 1.25 oz.

My local coin shop closed 2 years ago. Then there's our state premium of 8.25% (sales tax) on purchases under $1500. I'll be damned if I'm giving the state more revenue to buy real money. Otherwise I'd have even more metals.

I believe a good relationship with your dealer is essential. I brought a tube of Buffalos for 1.34 over. He show me a single Ahasi round and paid only .78 cents over spot. Good deal indeed.

Recently bought a few gold fractionals from my LCS and they rang them up at their buy price instead of sell price. I thought it seemed cheap but it was enough odd sizes that I didn't immediately catch the error. I figured it out when I got home and called them to let them know. I brought the money in the next day that I owed them. It has led to an amazing relationship with them and I get random deals and they hold things aside they know I will like. It was the best move I ever made to be honest and the LCS is more awesome than ever before.
I'm a big fan of St. Helenas coins, all I have seen are very beautiful.
Done that here in Bangor..reap what we sow if we faint not

here in south jersey we are limited to good coin shops.
I love my LCS it’s Casper’s in South Bend Indiana. Amazing huge selection and cheaper than SD and JM bullion there’s soo much good stuff I can’t decide❤❤❤❤😊
I have not gone to any coin shops in the US, Sal. From what I have seen on youtube videos, many seem to have the products I'm looking for. Here is the problem - they dont have websites where I can see and order their products. You have to always go to bigger online dealers like APMEX, JM Bullion, SD Bullion etc to order stuff and many of them charge exorbitant shipping fees to ship to Canada. They also deal strictly in bullion and do not have the numismatic or historical coins I am interested in collecting.
The 1910 gold eagle is a pretty coin but I heard often counterfeited.

I used to live in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada before 2018 and I had a better rapport with the local coin shop owners there than the one in Winnipeg. People on the east coast in Canada are generally more friendly and approachable than Central or Western Canada.
I finally saw a gold bar at my local Costco. $2399 today which is a decent price compared to other sellers. I did the same thing with my LCS. I asked for and paid for 10 ounces but they accidentally put 11 rounds into the tube. I called them and told them about it and brought the money to them a few days later. We all have to take care of each other.

Does your LSC know you are Sal? I went to my LCS yesterday as well and it was pleasant! He gave me stuff for giveaways!! What a beauty! St. Helena does amazing things!! I have a handful from them and each is fantastic! Love the dimes...Some of my favorite! I have a BU one and LOVE the luster! Ahhhh a Pressburg mint Terra! I have many from that series! The 2022 Pegasus with the Queen came in 1oz and 2oz size, I sold my 2oz coins and kept the MS69 1oz coin.

Good for you Sal. I'm in business and have done the same, keeps a clear conscience and believe business should be a win win relationship. I purchased silver twice last year at the lowest spot and premiums, but purchased over 500 ozs. I will say I'm confused right now about how this market will go. Question for you: Do you think BRICS currency will have much affect on silver and gold? None of these countries seem to warrent much trust, especially China.

Saint Helena has always done one and a quarter coins amongst other sizes... here in my city of Tacoma my LCS love this mint so much, she always pays well above spot for them... Anyways, nice one add to the collection... 😎✌️

I wish I had a local coin shop near me I order my silver and gold from SD bullion
My "local" coin shop is about a 70 mile round trip from my home. Last time I was in there was last October. I had $6k in cash in my pocket and was ready to buy some gold and perhaps
also a little silver. I wandered around the shop for 20 minutes and no one ever came up to me to ask if they could help me. I took from that that they did not want my business, so I left
without spending a dime there. I'm always amazed by the number of people in business who have no idea how to do it properly. This was but one example. So, it's not possible to form
a relationship with people who ignore you, so I make almost all of my purchases online. Still looking for a decent LCS and will patronize one IF there is one.
As to paying $10-$15 over spot for Eagles.... BAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Never happening. I've never paid over spot + $4 for an ASE or over spot + $3 for a silver Maple, so did not participate
in the great premium baloney of 14-15 months ago. I probably should have sold some at that time but had other things on my mind.
Will be going to a terrific gun show in Reno this summer and my good buddy who lives in that area says that there is usually quite a bit of silver and gold for sale at this show, so I will be
ready to buy with cash and bring home some nice additions for the stack.

I just got my Costco email deals about an hour ago and they're back in stock with the 1oz Silver eagles @ $659 for 20 pcs. That's almost $6.00 over current spot and in my state I'd have to add another 6+% sales tax. Take away the Costco 2% discount and their price is exceedingly high currently.

Had to look at my St Helena coin but it was a one ounce me also I like to get nice coins with a cool design I to was honest with my LCS and it pays off like when the old owner passed away and the new person that took over knows that I am a good customer

100% my shop gives me deals all the time. They sell me engelhard and geiger bars at generic bar pricing since they know I like them and they dont like bars.
I had the same thing happen to me, I bought 10.00 face of quarters for 20 times face, but when I got home I found out there were 4 additional quarters in the tube, so I went back and paid the extra 20.00. The owner was very happy that I was honest and I expect that will only benefit me in the future to have a good relationship with my dealer

This past Saturday, I went to a local coin show. Sold a tube of Charles Silver Britannias for $700, then bought a George V Gold Sovereign for $600. By my calculations, that's close to the current GSR and I'm happy. Note that no other dealer would buy Silver or swap for the GSR... people are running to the safety of cash!!!

I would say over 90% of my metals come from coin shops. I always try and support good businesses. Most of my videos are sharing deals I purchased from shops. I’m fortunate that I’m able to get better deals local than online. With so many horrible companies out there when I find a good one they get my support.

I generally find customer service sucks everywhere including coin shops. Fast food places in Canada suck especially. They are interested only in taking your money. They serve you the food but dont give you napkins. It should be automatic when they serve you food, they should give you napkins. You should not have to ask for them. Many stores also hire people who are not qualified. They dont know where products are located in the store and you have to look for items yourself. Some places also do not have an express checkout for customers who have less than 10 items, so you often have to wait in long lines behind people with 60 or more items. Very frustrating.
